He also doesn't know any French and is clueless that he's been called sweetheart.] I've never had Australian fair food before, [he admits. Prosper would have found it frightfully low brow.] What are we classifying as stupid? All of the rigged games? I can probably spot exactly how they're rigged.
[He supposes that could be an interesting mental exercise.]

[ Ash says this nonchalantly, clearly taking it as a given as he encourages Cadel forward. After all, what else would they do? One of the booths nearest the entrance calls his attention already.
Elephant ears sound utterly absurd. ]
That's the real fun of it, spotting the trick and overcoming it without anyone noticing.

Alright, [he decides.] We don't have anything better to do. If you want to do this properly, we should play the one next to our target a few times; while you intentionally lose at it, I'll watch how the one next door works, and evaluate the probabilities. Then we'll regroup and I'll tell you the trick, and we can go in.
[If it sounds like Cadel is used to directing a lot more serious covert operations, well... Ash might start to get the hint that he's not as bland as he appears.]

[ Ash was more used to being the one that gave the orders, but his plans were usually rather loose in nature. This was a reasonable proposal, and it wouldn't hurt to take on these carnival games on with all undue seriousness. ]
But, first, we'll loiter a while, non? Sharing a snack gives us the perfect reason to watch others play.
[ With a playfully aristocratic bow that's much too smooth to be anything but thoroughly ingrained, he steps away to the elephant ear booth. A mass of fried dough, cinnamon, and sugar is an excellent life choice. ]

Not that Cadel minds input, either. He nods in agreement.] Good idea. People loiter at fairs all the time. And you're good at looking nonchalant. [That's Cadel's critical opinion of Ash's ability to look un-suspicious, and he thinks it's pretty good as long as Ash is trying for it, and not letting his showmanship get in the way. It's certainly a lot easier to work with than, say, Gazo, who's Cadel usual conspirator in things like this.]
I'm going to get pretzel bites, [he decides, because they're not messy and he can pick at them. Cadel heads in that direction of the food stands.]
