It should be... unless you don't think it is.

[ There's something about Tara's phrasing that has Peej wondering what could be bothering her. Then again, she's new to this world, isn't she? Suddenly, she finds herself in a world where the dead for the most part stay that way and the populating is thriving. Good news can still be overwhelming, even to those who want to see it. ]

It's a lot to process.

( That isn't quite the problem. More bluntly: ) It's-- it's not fair that I get to be here and other people don't.

( People who've already gotten torn apart. She's not wallowing, but she's confused. Doesn't seem right, especially not after the stuff she's done. )

[ It's a sentiment she's all too familiar with.

When Sue had been murdered, grieving at her friend's grave, Peej had to wonder why someone who had so much had been the one to lose it all. It should have been someone who had nothing, she thought back then. ]

It's not a deliberate choice.

[ Luck has nothing to do with it either.

Your friends and family back home... wouldn't they want you to be safe and happy?

( The ones that are still alive - that's a thought that doesn't give her a whole lotta comfort. Tara sighs, rubbing her forehead before pulling her fingers through her hair. And-- ow, her fingers just caught on a tangle. What is life. Apparently her hair is out to get her, too, so she lets her hands drop back to her sides. )

I dunno. Maybe I just gotta crank up some angst and just work through it. I'm thinking Alanis Morissette, maybe Avril Lavigne. Lots of emotional shower singing.

( Emotions are too hard, time to deflect. )

[ They have taken the fifties too far. ]

Hey, it's going to be a bumpy ride at first. You'll get the hang of it all soon enough. You just gotta take your time.

yeah. ( A quiet laugh, rolling her eyes at herself. What a wreck. ) Thanks for the pep talk, coach.

( Although she is actually grateful. ) How long did it take you to get the hang of it?

( She doesn't know what it is, but everyone has something. )

[ Peej hesitates initially, like the focus on her isn't something she had been expecting and now doesn't exactly want to open up about. ]

It's kind of different for me, so I've got an unfair advantage compared to most.

I'm kind of sick of the multiverse anyway.

( The hesitation is like a blinking sign of please no, so far as Tara's concerned, and she backs off with the questions immediately. Hands in her pockets, she takes a half step back, too. Space is good. It's important. She comes from a world where asking too much or pressing too hard could also lead to getting your ass handed to you. It's not like she expect Power Girl to do that... but. )

Yeah. I mean, I never know what to wear to these things.

[ That gets a short chuckle from her. ]

That's one of the problems.

[ Arriving without clothes is actually very annoying when you have a secret identity to keep up with.

She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, glancing from side to side. ]

Since you're not in any shadowy tentacle danger, think you'll be alright from hereon out?

Oh, yeah. I'm good.

( A happy half-shrug, palms face up like check me out, being all good and everything is awesome, that gives way to Tara trying to be a bit less absurd a couple of seconds later. ) Thanks for the help. And the flying, that was pretty awesome.

Try to keep out of trouble.

[ She lifts herself into the air, like gravity doesn't mean a thing to her. In a way, it doesn't.

And then she flies off, looking back once at Tara just to ensure there aren't any creepy shadow hands jumping out of the ground to scare her once more. ]
