WHO: EVERYONE
WHERE: a park by the beach, Heropa
WHEN: All day Saturday the 31st
WHAT: A big imPort charity fair!
WARNINGS: Everyone's traumatic past and all that entails. No really. Everyone's. Please use your own discretion.
There's an imPort charity fair going on down at a park by the beach in fair Heropa, today! You've probably seen it advertised for a couple of weeks, now. In the newspaper, on the network, flyers on street posts-- so on and so forth. All proceeds go towards the safety net fund for unsettled imPorts! Their aim as stated is to ensure all imPorts who come here-- especially children-- don't feel pressured in to registering just because they're worried they won't be able to get a job or have anywhere to live otherwise. They've been around for a while. Perhaps you've received help from them already, or heard of them in passing.
Perhaps you're just lured by the promise of food and drink.
Or perhaps you'd like to try to try your hand at some of the amateur game stalls set up?
Maybe you were just walking past and came to see what all the commotion was about.
Or maybe you're genuinely interested in the charity and wished to put a donation straight in the box, or wanted to suss out the man in charge. (Mandrake's around, talking to potential donors.)
Maybe you've come because you're interested in the advertisement of the charity's free resume building help and networking services for imPorts.
Or perhaps, like any seasoned imPort, you just don't trust large gatherings of imPorts in one place to not go wrong, and you're here on guard in case the worst should happen.
Whatever the case, the weather is fine and the fair seems to be bustling. Plenty of imPort-sympathetic locals are here as well, mingling and generally having a good time. What are you doing in the crowd?
[You may officially begin your memory sharing shenanigans! As per the OOC post, characters don't have to participate in this log to participate in the plot, but the purpose of the log is to help facilitate as much memory sharing in one place as possible to avoid flooding. Side-effects should wear off on imPorts by Sunday night!]

[Just what went down, exactly. Until now. He can only imagine that. The pain of really, truly losing a brother. He's not sure what he'd do if anything happened to Al. If he hadn't managed to figure some way to get his body back in time. Or if his brother really had died the night they tried to bring back Trisha, if he hadn't managed to bind Al's soul to the armor.]
no subject
It - it happened eight months ago. Not something you just bring up with people.
no subject
[Because it's what they do. Play hero. There's a reason Ed is known as the 'People's Alchemist' after all. A reason both brothers are well known and liked, for the most part. Al could never neglect to help someone in need without at least trying.]
no subject
[ He rubs at his face. ]
no subject
[But nope. It's Al. And from the sounds of things, Tadashi is the same for Hiro. Or, he was.]
I didn't mean to bring all this back up. You okay?
no subject
Think I'd really like to meet your brother. I hope he comes here someday. And - and I'm fine. You're the one who had to see all that.
no subject
[What with the seven foot tall armor. Or if he were human, there's still the signs of their father's Xerxean history in their gold eyes and hair, after all.]
So that Callaghan one of the teachers at that school? What happened to him? Did he....
[Obviously Tadashi didn't make it. But he's less sure on the professor his brother went in to save.]
no subject
He's fine. He set the fire in the first place.
no subject
[At least, not without context. Ed himself has very little to go on to really understand the details and prior events that factored in here. He definitely notes Hiro's hardened expression, unable to blame him if this guy made it out fine and Tadashi perished in the fire trying to save him. Needlessly, it seems.]
no subject
He was trying to steal my invention so he could get revenge on somebody else.
no subject
[Even though he's still a wanted criminal. Wanted for murder. Nearly killed Ed twice. His lips purse in clear discontent at the word, but he tries not to let that get to him too much.]
no subject
Yeah? Good for him, I guess. The guy we fought is in jail now.
no subject
[Even if this is likely more Winry's thing, Ed can't help being a little curious in spite of himself. He creates things with alchemy, not technology the way Hiro does but he can still appreciate the talent and creativity all the same.]
no subject
Microbots. They're these sturdy little robots about 2-3 centimeters long. I developed a neural transmitter to control all of them at once - make whatever arrangement you want, any shape you can dream up. Instantly.
no subject
[At least, that's what he gathers somewhat, by the 'neural' application at least. Ed may not be quite as creative or engineering minded as Hiro or Winry but even he can start to gather the implications there.]
no subject
no subject
[Because he can only begin to imagine the possibilities of that sort of thing. Manipulating matter is definitely comparable to alchemy, this is just using a different method to achieve...well a similar result at least, from the sounds of it.]
no subject
And no way am I developing that for anyone else. If I make them again, they'll only work with my technopathy. No transmitter.
no subject
[Ed is relieved his is fairly straightforward. At least it is to him. Even if he's still miffed and complains alchemy is not some superpower, it's a science.]

[Hiro is just a kid, but that's never stopped people messing with Ed back home. Or the Hornets, likely. So it's not the worst idea.]
no subject
Okay, sure. I'd like that. I gotta have a backup plan - there's too many dangerous people here.
no subject
Sure. I can't deny that much. Why I offered. Plus, you're short and fast. I know how short people fight, especially against people taller than you. Which tends to be the case about 99% of the time. At least, for me. We could meet at the park sometime?
