WHAT: Earlier in the afternoon, there will be base-jumping in elf costumes. Later on is the charity silent date auction and different performances by USA celebrities fundraising for charity this holiday season. OOC information post here.

[ BASE JUMPING from TARTARUS TOWER ]
For those imPorts who volunteered to jump from Tartarus Tower, arrivals for fittings into their costumes begins at 2:00 PM sharp. Each costume comes with a name-tag attached, and make-up artists are on hand to help affix elf ears to participants and work on their eye make-up for the ease of the cameras catching all this live.

The jumps will start at 4:00 PM, and after all imPort elves have jumped and successfully reached the ground, they'll join the bus transporting presents and Malik to the De Chima children's hospital to deliver gifts to the children in the cancer ward (and elsewhere). ImPorts will then be transported over to the main facilities for the fundraiser event as a whole, invited to attend the Silent Date Auction as well as listen to any of the various performances occurring over the course of the evening.

[ CHARITY SILENT DATE AUCTION in DE CHIMA ]
Starting at 4:00 PM, the doors to the conference hall made available for the ImPort Charity Silent Date Auction will open. Live music will be provided, along with refreshments and catered hor d'oeuvres, and televisons displaying both the news stories and live coverage of the fundraiser events occurring over the course of the evening. ImPorts will be encouraged to attend any of these performances in person, but will not be required to leave the conference hall unless they wish to do so.

There is lounge seating available, and free wireless throughout the building. Different conference halls are hosting different events in this event center, and the largest productions are happening on a built stage outside. There's a massive lit tree in the central front courtyard of the event center, and many small stands selling hot drinks, good foods, and wares outside by the stage and surrounding streets, all with a portion of proceeds going to various named charities.

[ Given her somewhat detached attitude toward most things, Simon isn't surprised at her suggestion. It is written on the tin, after all. ]

Certainly. A casual trip to the museum it is, then. And maybe we could grab a bite at somewhere decent—on me.

[ If that's the case, of course. He wonders if Dorian will actually show up; if the younger man bids, Simon may have to change his plans. ]

[ Of course it's an if, and not one Annie's concerned about either way - she blinks at his mentioning a bite to eat, inclining her head toward him and tipping her head to the side. ]

That's a kind offer to make.

[ She's pretty sure she's supposed to be paying for things, if it's being arranged as a "date." ]

[ Simon's old enough to be a somewhat traditional about a date, even if he thinks it'd be more like a casual outing with the girl at any rate. ]

I try. I think it's worth the effort. So, are you going to spend the whole night in costume?

[ She glances down at the costume, then offers a shrug. ]

It's not going to be a late night for me, so why not? The auction ends well before midnight.

[ Anything she's monitoring up to that point will then be over and done with. She's not embarrassed by the costume. It's just another uniform in a long line of the same. ]

[ He gives a small, knowing smile. How is she so indifferent to everything? So cool and aloof, but she was also helpful when they first met at the swear-in. ]

That's true. [ Now, he feels just slightly guilty for changing out. ] I guess I couldn't really handle standing out so much.

[ How is it that she seems so used to everything? ]

[ Practice, and lots and lots of compartmentalization. Annie is queen of this, to be honest, and it's not a skill that always works in her favor. ]

To a degree, imPorts stand out based on what we are, regardless. Here it's not so bad as it can be in other more public spaces.

[ He nods, frowns just slightly. ]

And at the swear-in event, I'd imagine. One of the most obvious places to show if one wants to gawk at imPorts. But again, something to get used to. I can do with some exposure, and I think I did my part at the jump—which I found rather exciting, I don't know about you—anyway, I'm sure I'm adjusting to some extent.

[ Annie meanwhile flirts in and out of the attention tossed their way, sticking to mostly the nonspeaking roles. She likes staying quiet, by and large. Makes her life easier, and makes it easier to listen. ]

As others passed, Simon had been greeting them with friendly glances or the slightest nod of acknowledgement before they carry on. ]
