Wally's never been host of a party before. He's not really nervous about it, considering he's friends with everyone attending, but it's an exciting and novel experience. He didn't have many friends outside of the team, and hardly any when he was younger so the parties he attended were usually family affairs. Nice, but a guy needed to party as himself sometimes. Not to mention that with everything going on, the team has been kind of going through hell lately. Everybody's annoyed with each other, nobody's happy, and Kaldur's continued absence is like a big hole where cohesive team cooperation should be.

BUT FUCK ALL THAT today is for having fun and looking attractive in bathing suits and trying to drown each other in the wave pool. No being upset today. Wally is going to personally harass everybody into avoiding their problems, at least for today.

HEROPA/BIOSHIP ON THE WAY IN

[After meeting at Heropa Residence #17 and all squeezing into the bioship, the gang makes their way to the park. Probably only about a ten minute ride considering the speed, but man it's good to be in the bioship again.

Also, Wally brought enough food to feed maybe the whole team or just him and Bart if they get very hungry. He passes out tickets and encourages people to talk and introduces CK and Jaime to everyone (and everyone to CJ and Jaime) since he's pretty sure they haven't all met in person yet.]

WATERPARK

[GO CRAZY! After passing the ticket booths everyone is encouraged to run off with whomever they want, split up, stick together, go as groups or even go alone (BUT DON'T YOU DARE GO ALONE SOMEWHERE YOU LONERS, WALLY WILL HUNT YOU DOWN).

There is a veritable shitton of crazy awesome rides to go on, slides galore, a wave pool for general horseplay and friend-drowning purposes, and let's not forget the lazy river. There's also a ton of vendor stalls and gift shops for people who absolutely must have a crappy little statue of a water tube with their name inscribed on it.]

I. SLIDES

[ Robin, clad in red swim trunks and shaded eye-hiding goggles (the secretive little nerd), is naturally drawn to the biggest and most deadly-looking waterslides in the park. If you haven't heard the Robin cackle yet (looking at you, kids from Year Of Our Misery 2016) this is your chance. And whoever you are, you're getting dragged along with him at least once. ]

II. WAVE POOL

[ So look, it's really easy for a shrimpy little thing like him to hide under a convenient innertube, sneak close to his friends when the waves are high, and ambush them with dinosaur noises. It's SO EASY. At least he's probably too small to drown anyone, so there's that. ]

III. WATER WAR

[ For those on the team with the foresight to arm themselves with squirtguns, Robin is a holy terror. Eating lunch? Relaxing on an innertube? On your way to someplace cool? Did you want to get ambushed by a tiny cackling dweeb with a Super Soaker? No? Too bad.

(Noncombatants are exempt, but also no fun.) ]

[Now, Bart may not be the most sneaky person in the world. He might be impatient and not know when to keep his mouth shut but he does have one thing going for him.

Namely, his speed. And oh man has he been using a lot of it today. Because he doesn't really care about secret IDs on a good day and here- well, imPorts are given powers anyway, right? So why can't Bart Allen have the same powers Impulse does??? because that's dumb, Bart

So when he's fast? He's a water gun menace. But when he's taking a second to catch his breath in the shade of a tree? He's an open, oblivious target. Have at ye, Robin.]

[Wally squawks and swipes at Robin.]

Outside the bathrooms?! Seriously dude?! There are some things sacred to a man, y'know!

[After getting the heck scared out of him once by robin, and seeing him go after a few others with some dino noises, Gar decides he’s going for some revenge against their fearless leader.

He waits till Rob is in the shallow end of the pool and swims over discretely as a tiiiiny little fish. When the perfect moment comes he morphs as quickly as he can into a tiger, rears up over Robin and roars.

So what if he scared everyone else in a 10 foot radius.]

III. WATER WAR

[For someone who usually carries at least a half dozen different kinds of projectiles on her person at any given time, Artemis was remarkably unprepared for an all out water war. How was she supposed to know Robin was going to show up with an arsenal of Super Soakers? As she is unarmed, this would normally render her a noncombatant...

... Except this is the second time she's been caught in the crossfire and Robin just got her in the ear. Without thinking, she whirls around and uses the only weapon she has on hand.

It just so happens to be the contents of a big-gulp sized cup of ice water. She has good aim.

And he still has a Super Soaker.]

[ Oh, no. She's already been ambushed twice while distracted, this time she's ready. She gives every impression of relaxing on this innertube without a care, but there's a supersoaker hidden down just out of sight. She's dubbed it Sweet Revenge. (There's totally a reason she picked the solid blue 'tube instead of the clear one.)

As soon as there's sign of Dick, and let's be real, it's probably the laugh, she springs into action. A quick twist to flip the innertube up as a donut-shaped shield, then she's triumphantly returning fire with a huge grin. Yes, finally! ]

[Once he's ambushed by Robin - Robin! He's still getting a kick out of that - Jaime flails a little for show before turning around to face him with a look that says that he's not at all happy with him. How dare you, Robin? He was just enjoying the wave pool!] That is not how you roar.

[Okay, so that expression was just a preamble for Jaime to roar right back at him, reaching out to give him a good dunk, and if there's one thing Jaime's good at, it's dinosaur noises and dunking people. He's a big brother. He's a big brother with a still very young, very small sister. That means he's still got his phD in animal noises and being a dick at the swimming pool.

He does, in fact, have a pretty great T-Rex roar, but he has to confess, his cow impression's even better.]

[There is no way he's missing out on the most deadly-looking waterslides in the state of Florida. So Robin gets no complaint from the team Kryptonian about getting dragged to the nearest one. It looks pitch-black inside the funnel, which makes it seem all the more fun.]

You're breaking out the Robin-cackle? Really?

[At various points throughout the day Bart keeps finding himself drawn to the rides, to the closed tunnels he can throw himself headfirst at and get carried down with increasing speed - because, much to the lifeguards' and safety officials' dismay, he keeps spinning his arms as soon as he gets into the tunnels to give himself a really intense speed boost. He only gets caught once, though! Or twice. Or three times. Okay, maybe four. Possibly five. But definitely not six because at five he was banned from the rides for the rest of the season and at ten he may or may not be banned from the park for life but you know what? At that point he's moving so fast around anyone in a park uniform they can't actually prove he was breaking the restrictions. Either way, prepare to have this endless source of energy throwing an arm around your shoulders and grinning like a used car salesman as he tries to come up with ways to get others in on his stupid ride altering schemes.]

[Bart's claimed a corner of the wave pool and should really, probably, definitely be stopped. Because he's just discovered the wonder of superspeed and water. In that a; he can sort of torpedo himself underwater by spinning his arms and kicking his legs really, really fast and b; ..... Well, around 2pm the wave pool has a slight... malfunction. As it seems the mechanisms that have been creating the waves have managed to create miniature water spouts as well. Small and weak and dying out almost as soon as they start up, but water spouts none-the-less.]

pre-lunch, lunch, post-lunch, second lunch, 928739487 snack breaks, and hey wanna get more lunch? yes? crash! can i borrow some money?

[Somehow, around the time you find your stomach starting to growl, when the wafting scent of food starts making your mouth water, when you drag yourself out of the pools and hit the pavement, there always seems to be a whoosh, slight blast of air, and then two green eyes and a dumb, infectious grin right at your side. Doesn't matter if you were just gonna take advantage of what Wally packed for everyone or if you were gonna hit up the stalls, there's a hungry thirteen-year-old right there and waiting for charity and company like a dog waits for table scraps.]

[This is, perhaps, the one place people would think they wouldn't run into Impulse. The one place free from this kid's maniacal glee and overabundance of energy. But, for some reason, at various points in the day, the kid can be seen flopped out on a tube staring at the sky and squinting towards the sun. He's never there for long, but- Well, no. There is at least one or two times when someone who's walking past might catch a glimpse of him out of the corner of their eye sprawled out on a tube and just drifting, eyes closed and very definitely conked out and baking in the sun.]

Your cousin is swimming up behind you and flipping you into the water! ...okay so in his defense, he didn't think you were actually asleep, he just thought you were chillin'. BUT NOW YOU ARE NOT]

[Artemis has been keeping an eye on Bart. She's not... entirely sure how to deal with him yet, but still, watching him is... interesting. Her super powered eyes (thanks, military!) make it easier for her to track him than it is for the hapless park employees, but even then he's pretty much all over the place. All she knows is that Bart goes on a lot of rides and the park guards are getting increasingly flustered about it.

Eventually her curiosity gets the better of her. She calls out to him as he zooms by.]

Hey. You know the park basically has an APB out on you, right? [She jerks her head toward a distracted guard down the way who is babbling into his walkie about "that kid."] What did you do?

[There's someone in the deep end just chilling in an inner tube (because seriously, why would some waves bother SB?) and catches sight of the funnel. It isn't Wally, he knows that so that means it can only be Bart.]

The waves weren't interesting enough for you?

[Jaime may not have the snazzy tinted goggles that Robin does, but he still has to make some concessions to the whole ID problem, which means that the t-shirt stays on. He'd rather rip it off, considering how it's just sticking to him like glue now that it's wet, but he really doesn't want to explain that yes, he coincidentally has a tattoo of a blue Scarab between his shoulderblades.

So hey, maybe they'll just write it off as him being a little body shy and leave it at that.

As it is, he's standing at the top of whatever slide catches his eye, and while the attendant at the top is doing his level bests to explain to him the proper way of riding it, the look he shoots at whoever's with him (so long as that person isn't Gar, because, well, he's little) betrays that he may not be planning on listening.

(He's not going to listen.)]

[For anyone who knows Jaime, it really shouldn't be a surprise to see that he's gravitated towards the most low-key place in the park. He has a god given talent for chilling out, no matter where he is, and who is he to eschew that gift? To be fair, he doesn't end up there until he's thoroughly explored and experienced the park, but he ends up there nonetheless.

He ends up sprawled over one of the tubes, head tilted all the way back as his feet dangle lazily in the water and he soaks up the sun. He likes it hot, and he likes it all the more after spending his time getting thoroughly drenched in cold water.

And hey, he's not one of the redheads; they're the ones who have to worry about burning, not him. All he's missing now is maybe a drink in a coconut and about a hundred less screaming children.]

[For someone with adrenaline junkie tendencies, Artemis has been keeping it pretty low key at the water park. This has nothing to do with a certain teammate making fun of her for trying to take a rebreather into the wave pool. She just wants to chill out for a while, okay? Nothing wrong with that.

She's got her sunglasses on, eyes closed, just drifting along...

Bump.

Artemis looks over the top of her sunglasses at the offending tuber, trying to decide if she's going to be annoyed.

Oh, hey it's the guy from the bioship... probably not annoyed, then.]

[HE ISN’T THAT LITTLE THX VERY MUCH, and he doesn’t plan on following the rules either. He waits till the attendant at the top of Storm is done talking, and then “whispers”:] Jaime, Jaime. What if we went at the same time? Down the same slide.

[WHAT'S THAT REYES WERE YOU TRYING TO RELAX

Wally pops out of one of the bushes alongside the river -someplace that is undoubtedly off-limits to patrons- brandishing a giant Super Soaker and cackling.]

Hey there Jaime! Get a little taste of summer fun! [Wally pumps up the Super Soaker and empties probably half the tank at Jaime as he drifts by.]

[ Here's that one weird kid that Wally invited for some reason. She's been quiet on the ride over, obviously interested in the bioship and enthused about the ride in it, but bigger on observing than chatting. You meet a bunch of kids who are probably superheroes every day, how often do you get to ride in Martian technology? She'll warm up to everyone eventually, though. Probably. ]

[ Even if she hasn't talked much yet to whoever's up at the top of the slide with her, the time has come for allies. She slides in close, eyes over the side of the platform and on the pool below. ]

Hey. [ Subtle, casual, like this isn't step one of a secret war. There are some hooligans down there at the base of the slides that really need to be taught a lesson, though. ] You see those kids down there? Ambushing whoever pops out. Figure we can do a one up on 'em, how about you?

food break:
[ She might've been giving the impression of a cat trying to figure out how to interact with a bunch of playful dogs, but Carrie has been attempting to do the whole "kid" thing with everyone else. She's just sort of out of practice with it, that's all. But eventually hunger kicks in, and she can be found in some corner of the food court, sitting by herself and contentedly munching a burger as she watches the pool shenanigans. For someone sitting all alone, she doesn't really look too unhappy about it. Blame that on slowly realizing that this is... really nice. Having friends again, being a kid. What a novelty. ]

[Wally is a terror.

He's been stashing water balloons all around the park using his super speed. The little bastard has caches in almost every conceivable location; granted, some patrons have found them and helped themselves for their own amusement, but if Wally sees you coming he's probably going to dart to the nearest plant or cubby or awning, fish out a couple water balloons and pelt you with them. EVEN YOU, SB!]


.BIOSHIP -MIDDAY.

[Wally's glad he brought lunches, because after buying the extra tickets he doesn't have a whole lot of cash left over for food. Not to mention that no matter how reasonably priced everything is for a theme park, it's still hella expensive. Five bucks for a slice of pizza? No thank you. Wally has a huge duffel stuffed with nothing but chip bags, and he's relaxing in the cool interior of the ship and mowing through each and every flavor as he takes a moment to refuel. He's got a water war to win.]


.SHADY AREAS - LATE AFTERNOON.

[Wally is most certainly an idiot, because not only did he forget to apply sunscreen but he forgot to pack it, too. He was a lot more concerned about getting all their food together than he was about protecting his skin, a mistake for which he is now paying in spades. He can be found in any shaded area, probably pouring ice water or the like over his neon-red sunburn and hissing like a baby. Ahhh, he's used to it, and he'll heal in a day but for now it stings like the dickens.]


.LAZY RIVER.

[You know that really obnoxious kid who flips over people's inner tubes when they're trying to relax? You do, you know the one. He doesn't think there's anything wrong with it, and he laughs like it's funny when it's really just fucking annoying.

Wallace West is that kid. He's likely done it to any member of the team he's found in the river earlier that day. So when evening comes and Wally decides to do a little relaxing of his own, well; the opportunity couldn't be more perfect. Someone should give him a taste of his own medicine as he floats along the river, arms behind his head, butt in a tube.]

[ Yeah but she's so cute though; who wouldn't want to join her in a giant, brightly coloured inner tube and slide screaming down the maze of dark tunnels and fall into a giant pool of other screaming children? ]

II. WAVE POOL

[ Wave pools are clearly the greatest invention ever, and she may be occasionally cheating by hiding under the water much longer than one should (look; gills are easy), and knocking over a few friend's inner tubes and flotation devices. Seriously; try and catch an alien in water that can totally turn into a mermaid fish. ]

III. SUNBATHING

[ Gratuitous shot of hot girl, bathing in the sun on a towel, shades on and probably not an ounce of suntan lotion-- possibly even with the blonde compatriot of the Team, on occasion. It's possible to catch her here however, not green, but a California shade of tanned, human-y color. She likes the aesthetic. ]


IV. YOUR CHOICE

[ While I scurry off and not copy the Boy Wonder's format. Want to catch her somewhere else? Between slides? The snack bar? Possibly trying to cheat lines by flying up to the top and looking cute to cut in? -- Okay the last one is unlikely, but she'd totally think about it. ]

RETURNING HOME

[Everybody's exhausted but happy. Wally is definitely lobster-red sunburnt, and maybe a few others are too (cough cough CK). Robin, Artemis and Jaime probably tanned like leather, the bastards.

But hopefully the day was nice, and everybody's leaving feeling less like the world's going to smother them in their sleep with its weight. That was the purpose of today, anyhow. Wally got everyone cheesy presents at some point, and starts handing out shutter shades and commemorative cups to everybody.]

[Artemis spent a good bit of the day howling for Wally's blood, but she seems surprisingly over it by the time they all get on the bioship to go home. She digs something out of her bag and tosses it to him.]

Here. [It's a bottle of aloe vera.] Put that on.

[Why does a girl who has never had a sunburn in her life have a bottle of aloe vera in her bag?

... Good question.]

[ It doesn't take much to configure the ship once again for manual flight; someone else (Robin) can fly them home. For now, M'gann is a bit .. sunned out. It was hot today, and she would very much like to sit in one of the bio-seats and let the air vent open up against her being. Seriously, cooling off shouldn't be so difficult.

She's not bad, though. Just weary. Come chat for the way home? (Even if it IS a short trip.) ]

[Okay, everyone probably hates SB right now because he's not burnt or even exhausted. The time out in the sun had been invigorating to the half-Kryptonian. Wally had once asked if he felt stronger under the Florida sun and right now he felt like he could take on Amazo all by himself.

That's why he's handing out cold bottles of water that he picked up from the park before leaving.]

That was better than my first trip to the beach.
