Welcome to Halloween, Stark-style.

ARRIVAL

If you came by car, valets are on hand to park it for you, so don't forget your ticket! Follow the candle-lit path to the house, have your photo taken against the backdrop in the spiderweb-strewn entryway, and go grab a cocktail at the open bar before hitting up the rest of the party!

MONSTER MASH

You've been to a Halloween party before, right? If not, no fear- there's a buffet of perfectly normal, if on-theme dishes to nibble: try a black-candied apple or the macarons, vegan dips dressed like graves, squid-ink pasta bites, and a wide assortment of other common finger foods. Miss the food? Don't worry, helpful robot Butterfingers is on hand to bring you a plate of hors d'oeuvres- oops! He might have bumped you into someone else instead. Sorry!

Other activities abound, if you feel like risking the appearance of ghosts in a "haunted" photo booth, ”trick-or-treating” with a flight of jello shots (which one’s actually alcoholic?), or having fun with classic Halloween standards, like bobbing for apples, donut on a string, gross-out touch boxes, or horror film trivia.

Head outside to dance to a broad assortment of music, new and old, creepy or just right to boogie to. Got one in mind you’d like to hear? The band takes requests. Or maybe you’d prefer to mingle under the full moon with your fellow ghouls and goblins. Stuck for something to say? Don't worry, a blacklight question might flash across your costume, right in time to save you from any awkward pauses. Or add to it, depending on the question. So what is the weirdest dream you've ever had?

Careful not to get too rowdy, as there will be security around to keep anything too nefarious from happening. But hey, no one says they can't be distracted, right?

HORRORBEACH

Wend your way from the backyard down a lantern-lined path to the beach, where an intimate setting of dark tables and velvety couches await, and the music is subdued and eerie. Among the scattering of tables, there are fortune tellers there to give you a glimpse of your future. Why not, right?

Each character will have the option to have their fortune read (the choice of fortune is yours, but if your character needs a uplift this season, maybe keep it light), and walk away with a small gift, one random card of the Major Arcana. Because this is MoM though, these aren't just any cards, and some will impart a light-hearted, fully optional affect and/or compulsion on your character:

0. The Fool: Disclose a hope or dream to someone (within character's comfort level)
1. The Magician: Glowing sparks dance from their fingertips. Fingerguns get an especially bold burst of flair.
2. The High Priestess: Recipients feel the need to give a stranger a compliment, and get a glowing halo!
3. The Empress: Someone at this party needs a hug (or maybe a rescue from an overbearing npc), you can sense it. Go for it, and gain a cloak of shimmering sparkles.
4. The Emperor: You feel wise beyond your years. Offer someone your well-meaning advice, with an accompanying glowing crown.
5. The Hierophant: This card is all about tradition. So, bend to it a bit and ask someone to dance!
6. The Lovers: A heart appears over your head, "beating" rapidly in the presence of something they like. Could be their secret crush, could be a slice of cake, oops.
7. The Chariot: You feel the inexplicable urge to give someone a piggyback ride. May or may not include the sound of mysterious hoofbeats in your wake...
8. Strength: There's someone you need to tell something important to. Now you've got the nerve to make it happen.
9. The Hermit: Are you normally a wallflower? Now you feel compelled to sing! Go grab a mic and do your best Winifred Sanderson impression before the crowd.
10. Wheel of Fortune: Wildcard option! Choose any two that speak to you.
11. Justice: Have you been holding onto a petty grudge, or did you spill your drink all over Tony's couch and need to unburden your soul? Admit it to a stranger!
12. The Hanged Man: You can now levitate! Just a few feet, and try not to get turned around, like your card's namesake. You might need someone to tow you for a little while...
13. Death: You're compelled to change costumes with someone around you.
14. Temperance: You're now sober, sorry! This really is the worst card...
15. The Devil: Enjoy those horns, and a mildly heightened need to play a prank on someone.
16. The Tower: This is your moment. You're gonna climb that table and dance, baby.
17. The Star: Your eyes now glow with reflected starlight. Go you, Galadriel.
18. The Moon: Your verbal filter is gone. The first thought to pop into your head will be your next conversation starter.
19. The Sun: You now glow like a low-wattage lightbulb. Those in your presence get a temporary positivity boost!
20. Judgement: Solicit someone for their opinion. On your costume, the state of the world; you need to hear it.
21. The World: You're flooded with euphoria and affection for yourself and fellow partygoers, and you need to tell them. What a great way to end the night!

(The duration on these varies, and will generally be up to your player comfort level. If an option will unreasonably upset your character either at the party or longterm, then please don't select that one.)

(DEARLY) DEPARTURE

The party (and after-party) will go on well into the night, but everyone’s got to go home at some point. Heading out? Those with invitations, don't forget to swing by the last table before the valet stand, and claim your gift bag! All bags contain aspirin, a bottle of water, a black satin eye mask, a commemorative t-shirt, swanky new EarPods, and a spa gift card, to better recover from your post-party hangover. [ Momo nods, not minding that Ochako can't manage eye contact just now. She knows the other girl is listening to what she has to say, even if she's looking down. ]

Mhm. He was a dear friend. We met in... unusual circumstances. You see, at one of the Swearing In events, there was a charity... date auction, of sorts. I wanted to help the community, so I decided to auction off a kiss, to the highest bidder. [ It just so happened that that kiss would be Momo's first. ] There were some native teens who were driving the bidding higher and higher, and they were... [ She shudders slightly. ] You could tell just from looking at them, that they didn't have the best intentions.

Lester-san saved me from that, by outbidding them, and winning my kiss for himself.

[ Her voice is fond then, remembering her old friend. ] I'm not too proud to say that I developed something of a crush, after that moment. But it was to be fruitless, since Lester was already in a committed relationship with another imPort. We came to talk about it later, though, and he explained to me that he still cared about me greatly, even though his heart belonged to another. He told me that he has, and did, love many people, not just his boyfriend. [ She smiles. ] That was just the sort of person he was. He always had more love to go around.

[floatsaway]

[Oh, that first part of the story actually makes Ochako scowl at her hands. How disgusting, someone taking advantage of Momo's generosity and compassion in such a way...it makes Ochako's hackles raise for her friend - both as a female herself, a hero, and out of defense of her precious friend. No sleazy pricks are ever going to do anything of the sort - if they so much as try...Ochako will not hesitate to aim below the belt, if she must.]

Mmh...there are those types everywhere, it seems... [But, chancing a glance at last to Momo, Ochako smiles at her. She can hear the fondness in her voice, the affection, and it's...nice. Momo really deserves someone who'd treat her well. She's such a good, sweet, kind person herself.] He sounds wonderful, Momo-chan...I'm so glad you found someone like him.

[She's a bit sad, because Ochako's sure she knows he's not here anymore, but just...knowing all this, it makes her chest feel warm.] And it was okay? I-I mean...the people Lester-san cared about, they weren't mad that he liked you, too? I-I always saw it as feeling...selfish. O-Or greedy...wanting to be with two people like that...but--

[There's not way she could have chosen between either of the two boys. It seems almost cruel, considering they were rivals. Besides, each other seemed to complete the other, or...or had something the other lacked. Like two sides of the same coin.]

[ Momo shakes her head. ] I never actually met Lester-san's boyfriend. But from what I understood, he wasn't particularly interested in sharing his boyfriend with anyone. Some people are able to handle their partners sharing their affection, some aren't, I suppose. But-- I don't think there's anything greedy about loving two people, if that's what your heart decides to do.

[ She reaches over and places her fingertips on Ochako's wrist gently, just to remind her she's there, and to maybe coax her to look up at her. ]

In fact, I think loving many people is beautiful. There's nothing shameful about loving anyone.

[floatsaway]

[Ah, that's a bit unfortunate, but certainly understandable. There's no way to make another person decide who and how they love...and part of why she was a bit distressed about having feelings for the two people she did. They were close, certainly, but she didn't think there could be a chance for them all to be close. That realization does makes Ochako sort of falter a moment, but Momo is quick to bring her back up again. The touch to her wrist makes Ochako glance sideways at her friend, then up completely with an appreciative smile.]

Thank you, Momo-chan... I-I agree with you, but I didn't know if it was wrong not to be...um. C-Committed to one person, so. [She sighs, an puts a hand over her heart as her eyes close and she feels a little more relaxed. Lighter, even.] I'm glad you told me this.

[ Momo is relieved to see the weight lift off of Ochako's expression as she begins to look a bit happier. Sure, it was difficult navigating her crush on Lester, but if something good can come out of it for one of her friends, then it will have been worth it. ]

I think... As long as you are happy, and the people you care about are happy... I don't see how that could be wrong.

[floatsaway]

[Of course it's difficult, and Ochako is still nervous herself, after combatting her own feelings for weeks - months even - regarding just Izuku alone...now she has to piece together the mess of having equal feelings toward Bakugou. She's still not sure how that could have played out, or if she could ever really catch his eye - that seems like a fantasy - but...they have become better friends, so--

She clears her throat, fidgeting a little as a deep blush spreads on her face. M-Maybe a little validation could help her absolutely abysmal self-confidence.]

Um...M-Momo-chan? I-I'm sorry, if...th-this a bit reaching, o-or overly personal of me, but... [The toe of her shoe begins to join in the nervous fidgeting, nudging at the floor.] Do...d-do you think I have a chance?

[ Oh. Momo feels a bit put on the spot, but... Ochako is a dear friend, and she doesn't want to leave her hanging. Momo may not be all that knowledgeable or experienced in matters of the heart, but she knows enough to be able to tell that Ochako has it bad. ]

W-with Midoriya-san and Bakugo-san? I, well...

[ She takes a moment to stop and really think about the two boys in question. Both of them are so hyperfocused on becoming the best heroes they can be. Have they even any sliver of a desire to date someone? Surely they must be interested in romance. They're teenage boys, aren't they? Full of hormones. Momo tries to picture Ochako in a relationship with either of them-- with both of them. Training together, studying together, holding hands as they walk down the sakura-lined way leading up to the U.A. building.

Yes. She can picture it. Bakugo has a fiery spirit, and Midoriya a more quiet, soothing one. And Ochako flows between the two sides, like water that can either soothe a burn or begin to boil and steam.

She smiles. ] Yes. Yes, I think you do.

[floatsaway]

[Ochako does feel a bit guilty for asking - it really is just her reaching for some sort of...of validation from someone else. Validation that she may actually be good enough for either, but hopefully both, of the two boys to even consider. Her self-esteem has never been the greatest, and especially in matters of the heart...Ochako seems to really trip over herself. She was too cowardly to come clean before Izuku was taken back, so now...now she wants that extra boost of confidence. It helps.]

Ah... [She sniffs, feeling a bit misty-eyed all of a sudden as she dabs at the corners of her eyes quickly. However, Ochako is grinning, looking like she sun just rose after a century long darkness.] Th-Thank you, Momo-chan...I'm really glad to hear that.

[And Ochako knows she's not saying that just to say it. Momo is an honest and heartfelt person. That's why Ochako trusted her with that difficult question.]

[ Momo nods quietly, feeling better that Ochako seems to be relieved. Even if she is tearing up a bit, she at least looks a little happier. ]

I know I'm not the most knowledgeable person in matters of the heart, but... If there's anything I can do to help, even if it's just to listen... I'd be happy to.

[ She wants her friends to be happy. That goes for Ochako, but it goes for Bakugou, too. And Midoriya, however far away he might be. She wants all of her friends and classmates to be happy. That's all she wants, really. ]

[Momo is truly such a generous, kind person. Despite how much she has, she's always giving back for the sake of others. Ochako really, really admires her for that. She's smart, strong, pretty, wealthy...but never lords her success over others. She's always inclusive and sweet and helping people. Ochako loves Momo so, so much.]
