The sun is up, spirits are high, and that means it’s high time for a high tide Swear-In as imPorts find themselves whisked off to a gorgeous stretch of beach, the sand powdery and soft and the water bright blue underneath the Florida sun! While most ordinary people would be content with doing little more than splashing in the water and catching some rays (though don’t forget to apply plenty of sunscreen; your Mama wasn’t joking when she told you to apply it every day!), the organizers of the Swear-In realize that ImPorts aren’t ordinary people and require a bit more excitement.



That being said, for those who do just want to relax, there’s plenty here for you to do! All along the beach are towels just waiting for you to flop down on as well as plenty of cabanas for imPorts to lounge with a little more privacy -- and preferably a drink with an umbrella in it. Along the beachfront are an assembly of outdoor food stalls, providing imPorts with everything from those aforementioned drinks with umbrellas in them to an array of fresh fruit to sno-cones to pre-packed picnic baskets ready for you to dive in. Accompanying these stalls are plenty of eager spokespeople for the newest and trendiest swim and activewear, eager to give their wares away to imPorts in exchange for the free publicity, not least of all because they not-so-covertly hope that imPorts will decide to wear some of their goods for the upcoming swimsuit contest.

Because of course there’s a swimsuit contest. Right along the coast, a runway has been erected for that specific purpose. ImPorts are welcome to sign up to either judge or participate for themselves, strutting their stuff down the catwalk, giving a two-minute speech to something important to them (world peace is a good one, the judges helpfully provide, or maybe how much you enjoy their sponsors), and showing off one of their talents. Of course they’re not expecting too many non-humans or inorganics to participate, but with enough public sway, even one of the local Transformers in a dashing floral bikini stretched around their chassis can get their day in the limelight! Why, Mr. Optimus, is that just a hint of your paint chipping? How scandalous! The winner will get a bouquet of flowers, a dashing sash, and a whole assortment of merchandise for summer fun. The catwalk isn’t structured with the heavier imPorts in mind, however, so be careful; the more mechanical among you might find yourselves falling straight through.



Sitting around, eating, and posing doesn’t suit the more active members of the imPort community, however, so with that in mind, the organizers have set up a whole slew of exciting activities in addition to the more commonplace - though entirely welcome - sport of Beach Volleyball. Many juiced-up boats dot a cordoned off area of the beach, capable of going at speeds that are just a bit too fast for the faint of heart, offering parasailing, jet skiing, flyboarding and windsurfing, available for practice earlier in the day, and then for competition once the sun has hit its peak. All imPorts must sign a waiver saying that the organizers aren’t liable for any injury that may occur, of course, especially knowing that the more reckless among them may well try to combine some of the above, or even try to knock each other off their vehicles. If you get hurt, the paper says, that’s your problem.

If you wouldn’t ordinarily attend such a thing, perhaps you’ll feel like taking a visit when social media and unreliable news outlets begin to report on a supervillain who has crashed the sand art contest (which has some loving recreations of imPorts made out of sand), purporting to have incredible sand powers that he’ll use to wreak villainy on wicked imPorts far and wide! Any do-gooders will face resounding disappointment, however, when it becomes clear that it’s just a rogue ne’er-do-well with a leafblower who’s trying to blow all the sand art over. When that proves to be ineffective against wet packed sand, the fellow - dressed in a bright yellow mens one-piece swimsuit - simply starts kicking them over. He’s not a nice man, certainly, but supervillain he’s not -- but hey, you’re here, why not enjoy yourself?

Eventually, even the day’s most energetic guests start to peter out, exhausted from the day’s activities as the sun sets. If you stay long enough, you’ll be treated to a beautiful sight:



All along the shore, bioluminescent algae glows, lending the place a spectacular, otherworldly glow. The algae had never grown here before, but things had changed since the world almost ended, tiny details shifting and changing, and one of them just so happens to be some of the plantlife. Not every change has been bad, at least, as imPorts are treated to a truly magical sight. The organizers set up campfires along the shore as well, rolling out large logs for everyone to sit on around the fire as they make s’mores - all ingredients provided, of course - and swap stories by firelight until it’s finally time to retire back home again.

because this is how a Darkov survives. he's nocturnal -- he can only stand so much sunlight all at once and needs a break!

here is where a pair of glinting, gremlin eyes peer out from the gloom of shade to watch people doing their assorted beachtime activities, more keen on observation than participation for the most part. it's cool -- he already found a couple nifty shells and fragments of coral to entertain his idle hands, and seeing other people stacking sand gives him ideas, too...

if you need a break and you have the courage*, you can come approach this semi-sophisticated arrangement of beach chairs and draped towels and enter sanctuary.]

o2. sand sculptures
[no, not for any formal competition, just...for the sake of crafting! Martin likes making things -- things out of yarn or paper, mostly, but molding sand is...kinda fun!

he's a bit directionless, though...and not very creative on his own; maybe someone can come plop down and help give him some direction, here? he's the skinny kid with the pair of towels draped over his head and body while wearing over-sized sunglasses and a visor.

o3. algae
[it takes a lot to convince Martin to get too close to open water -- especially the ocean, what with its churning and...and vastness and unknown horrors... where he's from, water tends to be pretty damn perilous for what's in it, and that water didn't move anywhere near as much as the tide!

the spooky glowing is hard to ignore, though. now that he's in the comfort of mostly darkness, encouraged by all the other people unafraid to approach, Martin squats just at the edge where the tide reaches its end, wrestling with the idea of even trying to touch it.]

[ The sunlight disagrees with Andy too. Or maybe it's the crowd. Or the beach itself. Whichever it is, she's donned a wide-brimmed hat and dark shades like armor to fend off both the brightness and any attempts to socialize with her. This a woman that does not want to be engaged. She does not want to talk about how nice out it is. She does not want to skip along the shore.

The one exception is (and always is) —

Well. Apparently, he's hiding. From inside a little den crafted of towels and beach chairs.

Andy crouches down outside the fort entrance, letting her sunglasses slide down her nose so she can peer inside. ]

Xue Yang wasn't much for the daytime activities. He mostly stayed to the sidelines and observed, staying under shade because he figures his pale body will likely burn if he stays out too long.

He enjoyed his first sno-cone today..actually he enjoyed his first three sno-cones, deciding to indulge in several flavors enjoying the different sugary tastes.

But once the sun starts to set, he gets to enjoy a peaceful moment as he watches the glowing algae. Xue Yang might be cold and ruthless, but that doesn't mean he is completely devoid of emotion. He can appreciate the beauty laid out before him.

He's never been to the beach before; Xiao Xingchen was tempted to pull off his blindfold and just see the ocean but he held back the impulse. This is, after all, still his penance even if Song Lan has granted him forgiveness, absolution and the promise of a new life together here. Of course, with Song Lan gone that was, equally, gone. But without feeling the guilt of thinking Zichen hates him - Xiao Xingchen feels, generally, happy.

But still, still, he holds the blindfold over his eyes and allows his other senses to guide him throughout the day. He even lets someone put a swimsuit on him and takes part in the contest with no expectations to win.

By the time the evening is settling in, his pale skin feels a little tender after being under the sun. He can't see the glowing algae but stops to hear how others around are talking about it.

01 | THE "SUPERVILLAIN"

[ Andy's head is laying alone on the beach.

It's not just her head, of course (though she's been known to literally lose it, now and then #immortalproblems) but the rest of her body seems to have been covered in what might be a near metric ton of sand, leaving only her face still visible — and between her broad hat and sunglasses, only just. A predicament, surely, and it's not clear how someone could have gotten the jump on such an experienced and capable warrior in order to trap her this way. Must have been a foe of significant skill. And cunning. A master tactician.

Or that pair of six-year-olds a little further down the shore, who, having successfully buried this woman, are now working on their next conquest — a lopsided structure vaguely shaped like a castle. Even a heartless ancient mercenary like Andy might have a hard time resisting the charms of two bright-eyed tots. Besides, it's not like letting them have their fun was any skin off her back. She'd been spending most of this vacation laying around anyway. Sure, there might be some sand stuck in unmentionable places later but —

That's when the commotion draws the attention of Andy's apparently disembodied head. She turns to see some fucker in a blinding banana hammock stomping down the beach, kicking over sandcastles, headed right towards her — ]

02 | THE GLOWING SHORE

[ A ways off from the lively warmth of the campfires, Andy makes for a lone silhouette along the shore, illuminated only by the faint glow at the tip of her cigarette. In the fading light, it's hard to tell where her black hair, black hat, and black swimsuit all end and begin. Even the heavy lines of the tattoos curling around both her arms seems to be made of the same darkness.

The electric blue glow of the algae swirls around her bare ankles as the luminescent waves rhythmically roll in and out. Something about the sight of the dark water stretching out towards the horizon stirs something nostalgic and a little melancholy in her. She knows why, but she doesn't want to dwell on it too long. Not here, not with a crowd so nearby, and not when her cigarette is already starting to dwindle.

She's half-lost in her thoughts when an ocean breeze sweeps in, stealing her broad-rimmed hat right off her head and carrying it out into the water. Andy swears through a mouthful of smoke, her eyes narrowing resentfully at her hat as it betrays her by landing just out of reach. Here she is, trying to brood — dammit. ]

[Edwon is walking along the beach, extremely fruity drink in one hand, a pair of sunglasses being twirled in the other, blindfold around his head. He doesn't nearly stumble over her. That would be the comedic option, but instead he stops a few feet away, and then crouches down.

He doesn't at any point turn his head in the direction of the "supervillain," either, but he's impossible to miss.]

Is that a trap for him, or did you fall in one yourself?

[Curiously enough, Meeth has never been to the beach. Neither Rebena Te Ra nor Latov's villa were near the ocean--the closest thing they have to a shore is Lake Cyela and that's not remotely the same as this.

So you're liable to find her under one of the cabanas, either in a vociferous argument with someone over whether or not she is old enough to drink alcohol (a discussion complicated by the fact that she refuses to state her age) or sitting and peaceably sipping something large with an umbrella in it. You might also find her sampling the wide variety of beach foods with great relish. She'll also cautiously wade into the water. Somehow she's located a bathing suit of the type the Victorians wore, complete with cap to protect her sensitive leaves from the sun. She's... pretty trepidatious about it, really. It's too easy to imagine being swept off.

What doesn't make her trepidatious? Chasing down villains, waving her ladle, and yelling her head off.

And when the sun sets, she returns to the waterline to observe the bioluminescent algae. They're fascinating, to be sure... but there's something decidedly haunted in her expression if you can see it in the evening gloom.]

[Lacey carries a small plate of s'mores with her as she walks along the beach.  This place gave her the power to change the calorie content of food and she sees no problem with indulging herself. The bioluminescent algae adds to her good mood.  So pretty.  She spots someone who looks a little down.  For Lacey, who never minds her own business, that means the stranger obviously needs cheering up.   She walks over to the stranger with a smile.]   

Hi.  Would you like a s'more?  I've got plenty.

Eddie Kaspbrak | Open to All!

A. Swimming.

The only reason Eddie came to this swear in, is that it's at a beach.  He enjoys swimming and is very good at it, thanks to his friends who never let him back out over a fear of germs in the water.  Once he has a generous amount of sunscreen on, he runs into the water and swims out far.  He's careful to stay away from the spot where people are jet skiing and the like.   He sucks in a deep breath and dives down under the water, then resurfaces again and sees someone nearby.

"Oh. Hi."

B. Snow Cone Stare.  >

Eddie gets himself a brightly colored rainbow sno-cone. He's about to start enjoying his treat when he remembers the swear in where the drink made him intensely jealous.  Fuck.  He doesn't want to go through that again.  He stops himself, sniffs the sno-cone and stares at it, checking for signs of tampering.  He looks around at everyone else, watching how others are reacting to their food and drink, to see if any of them start acting batshit.  Or more batshit.  They're all slightly crazy for showing up at these things.

C. Sand Art Super villain

Eddie's looking at the sand art sculptures, taking photos of the ones that he likes.  The best is clearly the sculpture of him and Richie.  It's cool, and kind of cute, though he'll never admit the cute part.  Luckily, he's taken a few pictures to remember it by - because some asshole starts kicking at it.  For a moment, he simply stares, body shaking with anger.  He hates bullies and has to remind himself not to makes things worse.  Until the asshole kicks sand sculpture 'Richie' in the head.

"Fuck you"  He yells out, curling his hands into fists.

D. Making S'mores/Glowing Algae

Eddie checks the campfires, carefully inspecting them to make sure they're safe.  His sno-cone earlier had been safe.  The s'mores should be too.  He's waiting to make his own until a couple of other people try them first, just to be safe.  As he waits, he notices the glow in the water. The same water he was swimming in earlier. It could be radiation. Yup. That is exactly what would happen in this place. Godzilla is probably swimming in there too.  He decides to make sure before he starts running.

"What the fuck is that?"   He asks, gesturing to the water.

Adam barely got here in time to see any of the sculptures undamaged. He watched as the guy just went about kicking everyone's hard work for no reason, and even Dog makes a rather grumpy noise at his feet.

"Why's he doing that?" He asks as he approaches Richie.

Relaxing in the Sun

There's a very good reason Kang has lived in Heropa his entire stay, and it's currently high up in the sky, brilliantly bright and warm. He's found the perfect spot to bask in, relaxing in a chair in that boneless way only reptiles seem to be capable of (except for his wings, which are half-extended and take up close to ten feet on either side of him), dressed only in his kilt, a few cloth and metal armbands, and sunglasses that have been specially made to hook over horns rather than ears. He's also got a small cooler of ice within reaching distance to rest his beer in. This how he spends half the day, alternating between his book, people-watching, and the occasional conversation with anyone that stops by.

Jet Skiing

At some point, he's feeling a little adventurous, so he decides to try out a jet ski, listening carefully to the instructions. He only falls in the water a few times before getting the hang of it, using his wings along with the rest of his body to help with the turns. With all the activity out there, it's easy to miss the noise of another jet ski getting too close too fast, narrowly avoiding ramming him but the resulting wave of the swerve knocking him right into the water with flailing of limbs and curses.

"Hey, watch it!"

Algae

...that's certainly new. It's quite beautiful, actually, and Kang is more than happy to join one of the campfires and admire the view. He's also more than happy to share some stories from home, halfway into one about a prank involving a company of young, disrespectful draconians and a dragon made of wicker.

"So we set this thing up in the dead of night. It wasn't the prettiest to look at, but the design was solid - the wings flapped, the jaw moved, and we even figured out how to make the eyes blink. And, I kid you not, the Thirty-Third woke up the next day hungover as all hell, saw it, and fell flat on their bellies in fear. One of the clerics even started praying to it! And that wasn't even the best part - that came later when a group of prisoners in the camp escaped!"

[Edwon normally prefers more clothes than this. Not because he's shy, but because that's where he hides all of his daggers and his darts, his poisons, and his healing drones, something he doesn't like to be without. But the shorts and t-shirt he's been given still lets him hide a few weapons on his person, so that's not really the issue.

The issue, apparently, is the blindfold he's still wearing.

He's standing in front of a stall, where a spokesperson is talking excitedly, gesturing, showing him their many options for sunglasses. Edwon is just waiting patiently at this point - he's been through this before - until the man hands him a pair that he announces is absolutely the height of the upcoming summer fashion. Edwon slips the sunglasses into a pocket, where it joins the five other pairs he's already been given.]

[For most of the day, Edwon can be found with a drink in his hand. Though it doesn't really matter what time it is, or which number drink he's on - He's pacing himself, so he doesn't seem very affected. And he's more than happy to wave someone over to join him.]

With all the warnings I was given, I'm surprised there's not more happening.

[Is he disappointed? Well, not really, but he'd been prepared for disasters and so far none seem to be incoming.]


c. choose your own adventure
[Catch him wandering around, trying food, drinking, eating a sno-cone, sharing food, or dodging fashion spokespersons who think he needs to try their brand instead. Convince him to join in on some fun?

Stand and judge the supervillain with him? He'll give half a point for enthusiasm, at least.]

[He probably looks like a dork, in his knee-length boarding shorts, t-shirt and sun hat. One would think there would be a spell to prevent sun damage to the skin. He can't help but pause and just raise an eyebrow as someone gives sunglasses to a man covering his eyes.

Anders already has a pair of sunglasses, but why not?]

Sure. Nothing says I can't own multiple pairs.

Adam Young | OTA

1. Beach!
The beach! It's not that often that Adam gets to go to the beach, or even that often that he heads out to Heropa, so he's fairly excited when when he first learns where the swear-in is taking place this time. While the woods and fields are more of his type of summer scenario, this is really not unwelcome.

So, there he is, Dog in tow, going all around the beach to do all the things he can. Frisbees? You know he and Dog have a blast with that. Waterguns? You best believe he's going to play war with however he recognizes, specially if they're unsuspecting targets. He even tries to recruit some people onto his army, so they can take the beach away from those who are now claimed to be the enemy.

He's also pretty excited about what the food stalls have to offer. The attention given to imPorts isn't always great - he could swear it's been getting worse lately -, but he's certainly not going to turn away sweets and ice cream. He'll pass on the swimming gear, though.

At some point of the day, he even tries to coax Dog into swimming, but the hellhound doesn't seem too keen on that. But Adam can at least get him to run around in the shallow end. Watch out for when the small animal shakes off all that water, though.


2. Sand sculptures
Adam had already been thinking about checking the sand sculptures when he heard those were a thing, ice lolly in hand, but, by the time he got there, some maniac with a leafblower is already ruining everything! He watches, a few feet away, as the man ruins people's hard work with failed wind tactics and with much more productive kicks.

Now that just won't do.

What an odd occurrence, when one of the partially destroyed sculptures seems to begin to move on its own...is it--is it standing up?


3. Algae
By the time the sun starts to set, Adam and Dog are both quite exhausted, but having been allowed to stay out that late, the boy is sat on the sand, watching the glowing waters. It's an amazing sight, magical in some ways.

It's Summer already. Summer...again? The flow of time is already different for kids, but it has gotten a bit wonky ever since he's spent those years on that place that apparently doesn't exist, or exists somewhere else.

Summer means it's almost his birthday, in a couple of months. Summer makes him miss the rest of Them. Makes him miss Tadfield, Hogback Wood, his home, his parents.

He watches the glowing waters. It's almost time to head back home.


4. Wildcard
[ Adam and Dog will be at the beach all day, doing all sorts of stuff, so feel free to have your character find them. If you want to plot it out first, feel free to comment here, toss me a PM, or find me at skree. ]

Anakin and Padmè were planning on heading home soon - the algae had been enchanting and he was happy to watch it a while - when he saw a child off alone. He excused himself to go check on the boy.

He walked over and crouched down near-by and called over warmly and quietly, "Hey. You ok out here?" Children alone were vulnerable and Anakin knew neither he nor Padmè would be able to live with it if they left him here alone and he was hurt.

► BEACH DAY

( she'd enjoyed coming to the beaches in heropa on a few occasions, sometimes just taking a long walk down the beach, other times stopping and enjoying a few hours with a book in the sun. it was nice to find a moment of peace, something she sorely needed and she could honestly say that before being brought here it hadn't been something that she'd frequently done.

it's why she ends up doing exactly that. she'd taken a walk down the beach earlier, her shoes in her hand before finding somewhere that was quieter and a little more shaded to sit. this time she didn't have anything with her, no picnic or book to read but it was nice to do a little bit of people watching, to enjoy the warmer temperatures and to just be alone with her thoughts. though considering the date, she wouldn't mind a little bit of a distraction from those thoughts )

► BEACH NIGHT

( she doesn't usually stay out so long though with good company, having found friends to talk to throughout the day she's still at the beach when it starts getting darker, having pulled her cardigan back out. and she's amazed at the beauty of the place, stepping closer to the water and the rocks, perching on the edge of one of the rocks to get a closer look at the algae )

It's beautiful.

[ A frisbee flies in her general direction, skipping a few times in the sand before it lands, and Dog comes bounding after, breathless and barking and excited.

Adam gives some chase, but stops when he spots the woman.]

(Sort of) Relaxing

[So this was the swear in, huh? This was the fastest route to Katsuki achieving what he wanted- as a registered hero, he'd have an easier time doing everything...legally and eventually getting out.

He's wearing a simple pair of black swim trunks, his towel and a shirt thrown off to the side, as he sits somewhere on the sidelines of the shore, his arms in the saltwater up to his elbows.

To any observer, it might look as if he's relaxing, but suddenly the water shoots up in an explosive blast, his voice ruining the excited peace.]

DIE, YOU SHITTY WATER!!!

Sandcastles and Supervillains

[Apparently, Katsuki didn't get the memo that the 'supervillain' was just a ordinary, rude citizen, and he stands there in his swimsuit, crouched low and ready to fight.]

DESTROYING SANDCASTLES?! WHAT KINDA CHALLENGE IS THAT?! YOU STUPID OR SOMETHING?!?!

[His yelling is probably more disruptive than the leaf blower.]

Starry Oceans

[Admittedly, the glowing sea is kind of fucking cool. It doesn't detract from everything else, but the novelty along with the fact that it's way past his bedtime leads to Katsuki sitting on a log as he finishes making a s'more, shoving it at you without so much as asking if you want it.]

Here.

[He finishes before he yawns, and he slumps against the log. He might just be dozing off...]

[ Convenient timing, as Five does have an affinity for marshmallow-related sweets. He takes the s'more without a word, watching with a critical expression as the boy slumps against the log for a nap. Now, leaving this kid to fend for himself is, admittedly, a tempting notion. Five already has to concern himself with the well-being of his siblings, so why bother making any unnecessary concessions for the other poor bastards stuck here?

But after a moment of biting into the gooey dessert and listening to the fire crackle, he heaves out an aggrieved sigh and—he's disappeared suddenly. The wind whistles through the nearby palms, a soothing lullaby, and it's only when Five reappears that the silence is broken. He kneels down, holding out a coffee cup. ]

You're going to get mugged or stabbed if you sleep out here.

A beach party, Tina thinks. This is the perfect time for her to shine and to get her head back into the boy-chasing game, especially with the news of a swimsuit competition. She's got on a new blue sundress and a large, floppy hat to keep the sun out of her eyes.

First things first- at the food stalls she has her own space, serving- what else? Burgers! And there's the usual chalkboard sign listing her specials:

Vegetarian and vegan options available!
This Is Pine-Al Tap (topped w/grilled pineapple)
The Wind Cries Cherry (topped w/cherry tomato relish)
It's A Nice Day For A White Chedding (topped w/white cheddar cheese)

Once the swimsuit contest starts, however, she hastily packs up and practically trips over herself to watch. Well, she does trip at one point.

"I'm okay!"

And it's not long before several concerned citizens surround her and gently try to push her away once she starts critiquing the abs and/or butts of any fine young men who wander into her line of sight, whether they're part of the contest or not, before she gets fully chased away and has to clumsily try and sneak peeks instead.

As night falls, Tina's wistful as she watches the algae roll in, something in the sight reminding her of home.

"It's really been three years," she mutters, to nobody in particular.

Roxas is thinking about leaving the swear-in when the bioluminescent algae starts to light up, and it's beautiful enough to keep him on the beach a while longer. He spots Tina and goes to join his friend, dropping to the sand just he hears her speak.

"Wow. That's a really long time." He shakes his head a little in amazement. "I remember when one year was a big deal to me."

Toshinori Yagi/All Might | OTA

When he arrives at the beach party, he's All Might, dressed in a bathing suit that covers a lot of skin but is nonetheless tight enough to show off his muscles. He does his best to charm everyone who comes into his path, though when he reaches the food stalls, he has to duck out and become Toshinori again. All Might, after all, is dignified and can't be seen pigging out on hot dogs and barbecue chicken, or later on, a gigantic funnel cake.

All Might is seen once again in the swimsuit contest, once more doing his level best to lay on the charm.

"Everything is okay... because I am here!" he announces, flexing and posing, clearly enjoying a chance to ham things up. But he can feel his limit approaching before the winners can be announced, and so he bows out, telling the crowd that it's really unfair of him to win and someone else should have a decent chance.

He's thus Toshinori again when the "supervillain" attack happens, and it's a good thing, because otherwise this poor sap would have ended up with his leafblower broken, at the mildest.

"... Really, sir. This is how you want to spend your time?"

Night then falls, and Toshinori feels... content. He's been struggling with what he now recognizes is depression since he was thrust into this world, but between the support of his students and Mic and being able to finally unload on people who have no expectations of him, he's getting to feel more comfortable with his sitation.

"Pass me a marshmallow, please," he tells the nearest person as he sits in front of a fire.

Katsuki holds the marshmallow over the fire a second longer, and then using his bare hands tosses it at Toshinori. He's been thinking about Toshinori and the possibility his teacher and mentor would do something stupid. But so far things have been...stable. And a selfish part of him is glad he's got some semblance of his quirk back, while the other part knows it just puts Toshinori back at risk of doing something reckless. So he's been trying to keep an eye on Toshinori, to prevent anything from happening, as it's all he can do now.

A. Swimsuit Contest

Abigail enters the contest wearing her pink swimsuit . It covers up her scars and at the same time, lets her show off her legs.  At the judges' suggestion, she gives a short speech on world peace and sings the words 'all we are saying is give peach a chance' at the end a few times, encouraging the audience to join in.  It takes up the last few seconds of he time and she acts completely optimistic.  (Though she doubts world peace is possible.)  When asked to demonstrate a talent, she juggles knives with ease, thanks to her knife power. Afterwards, she can be found watching the rest of the contest, if anyone wants to say hi.

B. Relaxing. 

Abigail sits in a beach chair, sipping on a fruity drink and twirling the little umbrella around in her hand.  The sound of a leaf blower catches her attention and she looks over to see the 'super villain' at work.  Trying to work lawn maintenance on the beach?  Must be this swear-in's required weirdness.  Whatever it is, she's not going to get involved.  The guy needs a psychiatrist, not an import army. 

"Nope,not worth getting up for."   She says to herself, and takes another sip of her drink.

C. S'mores.

Abigail stands near the fire, roasting her marshmallow. She turns her stick slowly, watching the color of the marshmallow, paying it as much attention as she would if she cooking a giant roast meat over the open flame.  Any kind of cooking is an art form, or so Hannibal would tell her.  Or maybe he'd think this was all beneath him.   She's not sure it matters anymore.  She's been separated from him for so long that his influence over her might be slipping away. 

"Perfection."  She mutters to herself as she the marshmallow reaches a nice color and she moves it away from the fire.

And from her left comes a guitar chord, and a soft voice, singing, as Kon strolls up to her, wearing brief trunks, and playing as he sings.

And yes, he has noticed how she looks and yes, he did have to watch out for tripping over his feet, but he is totally only a touch redder in his cheeks than normal.

o1. chillin on the beach

[ Rex, not owning a swimsuit himself, gladly accepted some plain swimming trunks from one of the eager vendors and made his way to the beach where he blatantly ignores all of the fun activities set-up in lieu of simply relaxing on the beach and watching everyone else. He's pretty damn scarred up, electricity scars a ring around his neck and curling up his back, a blaster shot wound just over his heart, and a blue jaig eyes tattoo etched over the thick scar tissue between his shoulder blades, but he seems blithely unconcerned about anything that may stand out.

He may be goaded into some fun under the sun if pressed, but he seems otherwise content to station himself on a beach towel with a bottle of chilled water and a book. What can he say? He's old. He's tired. And just resting on the beach is a novelty he won't argue against. Still, he'll talk to anyone who wants to talk to him, and he likes some good old-fashioned people watching as much as anyone else. ]

[ When reports of a supervillain reach Rex's ears, he wanders over to see what's going on, a sno-cone in hand. When he sees it's someone whose greatest crime is kicking down sandcastles, he finds it's difficult to care until the fiend points at him, singling him out personally. ]

You! ImPort! It is I, the Sand Man, Master of Sand! Don't you want to arrest me?

[ Rex watches him stomp around, kicking over a turret. He raises a brow. ] I'm off-duty.

How dare you ignore me?! [ The dastard marches up to Rex and with one fluid movement, slaps the sno-cone out of his hand. He watches it fall onto the sand impassively. ] Fight me!

Absolutely not.

o3. wow nature is pretty

[ Rex has visited many planets, many with glowing vegetation. Not all of them had been particularly good. But having bad memories of one place like this doesn't mean that he can't still appreciate the sight; he's been to many kind, decent planets with glowing vegetation as well. He falls silent at the sight of the shore all lit up in blue, just admiring the sight. ]

I didn't know this planet had bio-luminescent plantlife as well, [ he comments, though he doesn't reach out to touch it quite yet. He knows better than to shove his hand into an unknown quantity like this. He shakes his head. ] I've got a lot left to learn about this place.

Probably because Andy just twisted his arm behind his back hard enough to nearly yank it free from its socket. It's almost unfair, how easily she holds their wouldbe supervillain there, one hand keeping him pinned while the other rests lightly on her hip.

She glances over the rim of her dark shades at Rex. Wryly: ]

Around the Beach
[ soooooooo. Is this going to be the "beach Episode" of the season? It looks like it!

Since Rimuru's human body is actually a copy of someone he knows and deeply cares for, he doesn't dress up and absolutely will not use a revealing swimsuit, and instead he opts for something more androgynous as usual. With a towel on his shoulder and a drink in his hand (the tiny umbrella on his drink looks so fancy, too), Rimuru walks around the beach, watching everyone ]

... amazing. Everyone is super good-looking. Is this a super-hero thing? [ maybe everyone's super power is being "super hottie". If someone hears him, he might be a bit embarrassed about saying this out loud. Maybe.

Or perhaps he was looking directly at you as he said this, and then he WILL look away with a small "oh crap" because he didn't mean to be so obvious ]


Swimming
[ Why not! It has been a while since he swam in the ocean, so eventually Rimuru leaves his towel and drink on the sand and heads to the water. His first reaction is to gently put his foot in, as if testing the waters before he stops ] ... it's not like I feel cold. [ and said this, he just jumps ahead for a dive.

Until he bumps into someone (more like, he headbutts someone...), and quickly goes up to the surface ] Ack, sorry! [ swimming is becoming a pain, so he decides to just turn into his slime form. So now he is just floating on top of the water ] Aha, no more accidents like this. Are you alright?


Algae
[ At the end of the day, Rimuru is watching the algae, amazed. It IS a beautiful sight and he doesn't remember ever seeing it back in his world or the world before then. A bit excited, he approaches of the water, not touching the algae but simply enjoying being close to them ] It looks like magicules... [ it's almost nostalgic, if he didn't know those are absolutely not magicules at all.

Aha.... in the end he does miss his world. Rimuru turns into his slime self, slithering even closer to the algae, this time touching them, and so he decides to do what a slime does: eat them. Yep, Rimuru is eating the alage LOOK THERE ARE SO MANY. But probably the most fun part is that now he is glowing too, copying the ability the algaes have for bioluminiscence. ]

Maybe I can show this to Ranga when I go back. [ they say imPorts lose their memories when they are sent back, but Rimuru would like to believe he will keep them. It's a small silly hope. ]

[So far the day has been nice for him, it's nice to have a break now and again from gathering information for local clients, and this swear-in's location is just the place to have that day off. He's just drifting on the water's surface until he's shocked by the headbutt to his back and temporarily loses his balance.]

It's fine, nothing to... [well that's interesting, turning into a slimy blob as he's talking.] worry about. You're an interesting one, aren't you?

Snacks

[ Wolf can be found all over the beach, although she doesn't look terribly happy to be here. She still isn't used to being around this many people, let alone humans, and she's obviously tense, with her shoulders up around her ears and her staff held tight to her chest like an extremely pointy bodyshield. Over the course of the afternoon, she goes from very, very carefully dipping her toes into the water, to cautiously eyeballing the rainbow sno-cones, and rifling through one of the picnic baskets with open skepticism. ("How is all of this free?! What's the catch, lady?")

Once it's been confirmed that the food is free and a picnic basket has been secured, Wolf retreats and sets up camp at far end of the beach, where she can watch the crowds from a comfortable distance. She's even taken her cloak off, for once - it's hanging from the hook of her staff, which has been jammed upright in the sand like a beach umbrella. ]


Sand sculptures

[ ... Well, this guy is just a jerk. Wolf watches the 'villain' from a distance for a few minutes, taking in the petty destruction, the sheer obnoxious attitude, and the upset contestants before coming to a decision. The jerk barely notices her until she approaches him, giving him a brief tap on the shoulder with Stalky to get his attention. ]

Alright, that's it. You're done.

[ She catches the handle of the leafblower in the hook of her staff, spins around, and flings the leafblower overhead and into the surf. There, problem solved! Yes, she does look very proud of herself. ]


Sunset

Oh, wow.

[ Wolf isn't normally one to be affected by scenery like this, but... man. This is really something else, isn't it? She's never seen anything this beautiful, not even the lights of Ratland's theme park looked this vibrant. She grins, and for once the smile is open and entirely sincere... at least, until the caution kicks in again. ]

... It's not acidic, is it? Whatever's making the water glow?

Nah. Shouldn't be. They would have cleared the beach if it was immediately dangerous.

[ Ruka's been drifting along the beach as the day's been winding down, attention more on the sky and the sea than the crowd of the beach. She answers the question without seeing who's asked it, watching the water rush in once more, the water blasting cold against her ankles, algae sticking to her legs. No pain. ]

Yeah, it's fine. [ She glances towards the sound of the voice, her smile more visible in the scrunch of her nose than it is in the pull of her mouth. ] It's not dangerous at all.

Anders | OTA

Anders shows up to the beach with green shorts, a while t-shirt, sun hat, and sandals. Getting to do something like this would be considered a luxury were he back in Thedas, though he's long used to being able to do things here that he otherwise wouldn't have been allowed to or gotten the opportunity to do.

He sits under a large umbrella for now, putting on another layer of sunblock. "I bet there's a way to invent a spell that protects one from the sun."

Much later, he looks at the various activities, eyeing a jet ski. They certainly looked fun when he saw them out on the ocean earlier. "Jet ski or parasailing? Hmm."

In the evening, he sits by the water to watch the glowing plankton with awe. It's so beautiful, he can't turn his eyes away. It's like magic, or lyrium in the water. Do they have this in Thedas? Maybe it exists there, but Anders has never stuck around sea or beaches long enough to notice.

Lacey happens to overhear the question as she's walking by.  She's not sure if he's speaking to her.  That won't stop her from offering her opinions and advice.  Minor details like that never do.  She turns to look at him with a friendly smile.

"I tried the jet ski.  It took me a bit to get used to it and then it was a lot of fun!"

She tells him, leaving out the slightly embarrassing fact that she fell off once.She was able to climb back on and then it was a lot of fun, as she said.

A. Judging.

Lacey volunteers as one of the judges at the swimsuit competition. She makes notes about each contestant, all positive.  She notices things like little stumbles as well, though it seems unkind to write them down.  Besides, that's partly the fault of the swear-in planners.  They should have made sure the catwalk could support all imports, including the mechanical ones.  She applauds after each contestant gives their speech and showcases their talent.  During a break between contestants, she smiles to the judge next to her.

"This is such fun!  A hoot and a half!"

B. Picnic Lunch. 

Lacey picks up a picnic basket labelled for one and carries it to a large towel on the beach.  She notices the basket is heavier than she expected.   She sits down and begins pulling out several containers of food. Sandwiches, chicken,biscuits, potato salad, lemon bars, cookies, brownies, etc.  Gosh.  She would have been fine with half a sandwich and a salad. 

"Hello, hello"  She calls out to get the attention of everyone near by. "Would anyone care to join me in a picnic?  There's plenty to go around."

C.Jet ski practice.

Lacey decides to try the jet ski.  It can't be much different than a snowmobile.  Just balance, hang on tight and steer.  She's doing well until she tries to stand.  She falls into the water, slipping beneath the surface.  She pops up a moment later. 

"I'm okay.  I'm okay." She reassures anyone watching her.  "I guess that must be one of the models where you have to stay seated." 

She swims out,catching up to her jet ski, turns off the motor and climbs back on.

"Right back up on the horse.  It's the only way to do things."

Picnic

Kang is just coming back to his spot on the beach, which is just ten feet from where Lacey has chosen to sit. He's feeling pretty hungry, and with that massive amount of food and a clear invitation, he snags another unused towel from nearby and his cooler to join her. "Even I can't eat that much food in one day."

Finn Onaru (the Dragonborn) | OTA

A. Swimming
First thing Finn does upon reaching the beach, and claiming a spot with his towel, is hit the ocean. The second he wades in deep enough, he dives in and kicks off under the water. The water is nice and refreshing on his skin.

At one point, he lets himself just idly float on the water's surface, gently kicking his feet.

B. Sand sculpture
Sand isn't his medium, but Finn's willing to give it a go.

He makes a few practice pieces at first, mainly making simple shapes like cubes, or pyramids, before he moves on to something more complicated. At first, he tries making an Ash Spawn, but it just keeps collapsing. Therefor, he's now working on a mud crab.

"If I had some pipe cleaner, it would have stood up."

C. Algae
That evening, he watches the natural lightshow that the algae provides. He has a s'more with him as he watches, unable to take his eyes off it. He's tempted to go dip his fingers in it.

As Finn floats on the surface, a certain green, scaly Reptilian circles underneath. Finn looks so relaxed, so peaceful, and Jonathan wants to see if he can make him jump, so Jonathan watches his unwitting lover as he plans his method of attack. Then, when Finn (as far as he can tell, anyway) least expects it, Jonathan launches himself up through the water, grabbing Finn as he surfaces and yelling.

1. Swimming
[Surprisingly, Gladion can be found swimming and splashing with Umbreon, although a recently evolved Crobat has taken to the skies above flying around gleefully but keeping a sharp batty eye on his trainer from above. While Gladion chases Umbreon in shallow waters, a wide smile is spread across his face and surprisingly he's much more relaxed than his usual guard he has up on other days. Today is a day to relax and it's been a while since he's been to a swear-in, but this one seems innocent enough and nothing to have monsters show up or memories leaked out at the beach.

While he's not paying attention, a beach ball smacks him in the back of the head. Luckily not a volleyball, but a soft blow up ball. Someone trying to get his attention, perhaps? It's a soft enough hit that he's not really paying much attention.]

2. Beach, wanna race?
[All the racing around on jetskis and parasailing looks fun, he'll admit, although not out loud to just anyone. Even before doing any of them and before any lines got long, Gladion had signed that waiver early when he arrived. If he got hurt he could either use one of his discs or find a healer, either Mizuki or Archie if they were there, no big deal right? At least he's smart enough not to get himself killed or anything, and the imPort fans had shockingly left him alone for once, though maybe that's due to how many threats he made to them that morning.

He spots someone else near the jetskis, smirking, and of course willing to be reckless as ever. He can think about the consequences later.]

3. Nighttime glow
[The sunset is surprisingly pretty with the bio-luminescence, and the glow hits Gladion with a feeling of homesickness, reminding him of Chinchou and Lanturn glowing in the Alolan waters occasionally. It doesn't help that Umbreon's rings are glowing as well, adding to the soft light. His face betrays some of this homesickness, not that he'd tell just anyone that he is, not unless you're someone from his world or a friend he's made in this one.]

[Sun had long since signed the waiver for the jetskis, though he had no plans on riding one himself today. Instead he was looking at them contemplatively. They were essentially the Sharpedo Poke Ride-- something he himself was capable of doing with his powers. Not that he had much practice with it since he was always keeping himself busy with his part-time job.

He could relax every once in a while though. Like today! At least until a familiar voice brings him out of his thoughts.]

...? Oh! It's you.

[It's clear from his face he wasn't expecting to run into the other boy here, but the challenge to race does have Sun interested.]

A race, huh? Anything in it for me if I win?

Sunbathing
Kurt prefers to sit on a rock while he suns himself, but doing it on a towel on the sand will suffice. He lays himself down, wearing only sunglasses and swim trunks, and no skin suit. He wants to feel that sun on his scales.

He's there for a good while. If one were to step in front of him, he grumbles, "You're blocking my sun."

Algae
Kurt sticks around for the s'mores, because he's a sucker for anything with sugar in it. Humans are so primitive in a lot of ways, but they make the most delicious treats.

When the algae starts glowing, he turns around on the log to watch, prepared to turn right back around and make another s'more when he finishes off his current one.

Lan Jingyi | The Untamed | OTA

A winner is Jingyi, whatever the judges say
It takes Jingyi half a day to be comfortable walking around in just his pants (ie swimtrunks), but he survives, and then he enters himself into the swimsuit competition because he knows what he looks like. Everyone watching is subsequently treated to a two minute rant (there's...no other word for) about how he saw Romeo and Juliet recently and how many problems accidentally-on-purpose stabbing someone can cause, not that he himself has stabbed anyone like, he has just seen the problems that it causes! The timer person has to try and cut him off three times before he finally gives in and moves onto the talent portion.

He almost sets the stage on fire showing off some of the light and fire talismans he can activate by scribbling with spiritual energy onto thin air.

Taking his bows, he scrambles off stage and onto the beach, turning to the nearest person to demand, "How do you think I did?"


A night on the beach
Jingyi is holding the bag of marshmallows hostage as he sits at his fire pit and enthusiastically makes one s'more after another. He does promise to share, except--"The price is one interesting fact, cool power, or fun story. Then you get a marshmallow."

Jetskiing

Pyrrha can't just be a stick in the mud mulling over her second chance at life, so she's out and about. It's so weird that the only thing she has to deal with is random people trying to be villains and bad that it's like a vacation for her. A LONG vacation.

Thus, she decided to see what it felt like to actually do something like Jetskiing. Even with the one-piece swimsuit she's wearing, she feels just a little self-conscious showing herself off like this, even more so as she's trying her best not to go too off the rails with the jetski's throttle.

"It's not so bad... right? I mean, just push and... go." she uttered. Hitting the throttle, she... started moving slowly. "C'mon, faster..."

The "Supervillain"

"You can't stop me, hero! I will make everyone here pay with my sand powers!"

Pyrrha couldn't help but be amused at the poor guy with his leafblower. It's obvious he's trying his best to be intimidating, but she needs to let him down gently.

"Sir, you're just being a bother." she said. "Why don't you go home and rethink everything, hm? You don't need to do this."

"Lies! I have to! To avenge my wrongs!"

[ Magnus is always up for a beach episode, and today is no exception. When he's not participating in the swimsuit competition or checking out the extreme sports, you can find him cheerfully lazing in the sun, going for a little dip, gorging himself on the foods and drinks on offer and, of course, applying a liberal amount of sunscreen. He's a natural redhead, after all.

He could probably use a hand with the sunscreen, or perhaps a little company as he explores the beach. His swimsuit also doesn't leave a whole lot to the imagination - he's a massive man, as built as he is tall with a ribbon of comfortable fat around his waist and absolutely scarred to high heaven - but his affable demeanor helps off-set most of what would naturally intimidate an ordinary person. ]

o2. the sporting life.

[ Magnus doesn't drive. He's never learned how here, mainly because the whole testing part of affairs intimidates the hell out of him. He has faith in his driving skills but not, it must be said, in his test-taking skills. Still, as he approaches one of the jetskis and glides one hand over it with a grin and is asked whether or not he knows how to drive it, he looks up to the vendor and says, ] Don't worry! I've got Vehicle Proficiency!

[ Magnus is just ambling along when he gets singled out of the crowd (though truthfully, they're singling out any imPort and asked to join the swimsuit competition. Magnus, who is not the most humble man in the world, nor is he the shyest man in the world, immediately rises to the occasion, running to the stage in two long leaps and then hops up, grinning to beat the band. He's only in red swimming trunks now, but if he gets given a speedo, you bet your sweet ass he's wearing it. ]

A talent competition too, huh? Welllll, I could carve something out of driftwood... or I can lift something really heavy. Anyone in the crowd want to be bench pressed?

[Fuu is allowing herself to be cautiously optimistic about this Swear-In. What is it... two disasters and one calm? She'd have to sit down and write out out to see if there's a pattern. But while she's still equipped with her glove, and keeping her eye out for any suspicious lumps in the sand or Fabulous Demonstrations Of New Technology or rogue mantas, so far this one seems like it might actually be okay.

So you can find her under one of the cabanas, maybe watching other people fly or windsurf, but probably walking the sand or wading into the water to collect interesting-looking shells or rocks or looking for odd critters in the surf.]

"Villainy"

[When the ruckus starts, Fuu hurries over--HER HOPES DASHED AFTER ALL--but when she sees what the source of the trouble is, she simply sighs.]

Sir--do you really think this is the best use of your time?

Bioluminescence

[This is a sight Fuu has never seen here before... but she recognizes it well enough from documentaries and photographs. It's entrancing to actually get a chance to see it for herself... the glowing lights rolling in and out with the waves.

You might have to give her a nudge and remind her that s'mores are happening by the fires, because left to herself she's just going to keep watching in delight and awe.]

[ Fuu is just innocently picking up seashells when she sees a cluster of particularly beautiful looking shells in the distance, on a small pile of sand. Maybe someone else has been making their own collection? It's certainly worth a shot.

But when Fuu gets closer, a figure suddenly bursts out of the sand with a sound that can only be described as blaaaaaaghhh!!! -- or at least the upper torso of a figure bursts out, Jaime's lower half still fastly covered in what seems to be some attempt at a mermaid tail.

It's a little less effective than boo!, but Jaime wasn't actually going out of his way to surprise Fuu anyway. ]
