CATCH ALL FOR FEBRUARY // ALL OPEN
A // UNIVERSITY // OPEN
Being transported to that other world delayed classes … once more … but at least the university understood it was against her will and let her have her job back.
Feel free to find Jane in her classroom, pop in on a class, catch her on a lunch or coffee break, or find her in her office working on lesson plans and grading. She might even be working on some live demonstrations with gravity! If you get trapped in the gravitational pull, she apologizes and will work on refining the equations a little more next time.
B // STUDYING MAGIC // OPEN
At the library (pick any one, she can use the porter without restriction once more), Jane has selected a number of books on magic. Anything from mythology to the literature of magic to some actual serious scholarly research into it. There is one particular book, though, that is just out of reach on a top shelf … across from where she currently is … on a ladder.
We all know where this is going.
C // TAKING A WALK // OPEN
Sometimes, Jane just really needed to clear her head.
Sometimes, that meant walking around her neighborhood in the middle of the night without any real purpose. Where she ended up didn’t matter. It was what she thought along the way. Of course, sometimes, that might include some ranting about the universe and paperwork or students being lazy after all her efforts to help or stupid songs getting stuck in her head.
She really needs to apologize to her neighbors.
D // WILD CARD
I probably forgot a plot somewhere, so feel free to put that here! Feel free to do that even if we didn’t plot anything!

Which one, ma'am?

Oh, the one by Newton. It's the thick brown one with the gold lettering.
[But he probably saved her from destroying the library.]

Here you go. [A pause, after noticing the title of the book.] Magic? That's a far cry from physics, isn't it?
no subject
[Jane takes it and puts it under her arm where a few other books are.]
Typically, yes, but Newton was deep into the occult. A lot less was understood back then, but now I am wondering if maybe modern thinking is wrong about that.

Harry grins as he walks through departing students, and heads for her at the front of the room. He was dressed in a casual suit, with his duster on over it.
"I heard you got lunch soon. Got time to head across the street again?" Its been a while, not counting alternate universe shenanigans, but he has a question to ask her.
no subject
"I always have time to head over there," she replied. It had been a while and yeah, they needed to catch up and figure some things out likely.
no subject
He is almost bouncy, grinning at her.

“Awesome, but feel free to start asking now,” she said, locking her desk. Everything was put away and she really only carried her wallet on her most days.
no subject
He grins as he asks her, eyes dancing, smiling.

"Dr. Foster?" He holds up an offering of coffee from a nearby coffee shop.

Jane was wiping down her chalkboard when he knocks. The classroom is in a bit of a state, but she'll get to that eventually. She was definitely interested in learning more about magic and science, and how they related, even though cosmic forces seemed to keep forcing her to deal with more immediate problems.
"Come on in! Sorry it's been so long!"

"Oh, Jane! You're going to fall, do come down."
And move the ladder, perhaps.
no subject
At Jane's plea, Jane stops and lets out a frustrated sigh. It's a hassle, but she's right.
"Oh, alright," she sighs, coming down.
no subject
In truth, she hadn't thought it would be so easy. But it serves Jane's purpose well enough, as the moment the other woman steps securely to the floor she puts her arms around her in a tight hug.
"I'm so glad to see you."
no subject
"It's good to see you too."

"Are you doing research?"

Which is why he's on his way to the history section when he notices a disaster waiting to happen. Before the ladder can fall and make the situation worse, he reaches out a hand and the ladder stops wobbling (or, more accurately, she stops wobbling while holding the ladder).
"Which shelf?" So he can help her reach it.
no subject
No, books are safer. For now.
"Ah!" Jane is surprised when she stops wobbling and looks down. "Uh. The shelf below the top one? Copernicus, and The Alchemical Notebooks of Newton, if you can get it."
no subject
He figures out which shelf she means and turns the ladder until he can tilt and let it come to rest against the correct shelf so she can grab the book. "Will that work?"
no subject
"Yes, thank you!"
Grabbing the books, she heads down the ladder, done with this section of the library.
"Long time no see. Thanks again for the help."
