[A] THE RED BRANCH
[ Most any day of the week Kenzi can be found at the Branch. The exterior is still covered in graffiti but the front door, windows, and shutters have all been repaired. The door is unlocked to those that give it a try, though those with ill intent in their heart may find they can’t pass through the doorway.

Once inside the building is warm and inviting, if a little empty.

If Kenzi isn’t immediately in view her voice can be heard from somewhere in the building. ]

[B] THE RED BRANCH SAND PIT
[ Some days the door is locked, but if one decides to wander the grounds a bit they’ll find a path has been cut through the overgrown that leads back around the building. There is a clearing with wooden seats built around a large pit of cleared land that has been filled in with sand. Broken weapon stands sit nearby. They’re mostly empty save a few broken wooden training weapons.

Well, there was sand but it’s now all been overtaken by grass which Kenzi is trying to clear away by any means necessary. In this case, it seems to be the use of her light abilities. Which seems to be doing a pretty good job of burning away the grass. ]

[C] GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN (OPEN; ANY CITY THAT ISN’T JEOPARDY)
[ Kenzi can be found in the bars and clubs in any of the cities; flirting, drinking, hustling some guys at pool if there happens to be a table, and dancing. She back from vacation and not letting the fun train come to a stop. Not yet, anyway.

She might also be found in a cafe or diner, window shopping, or just chilling on a bench. She likely has Sir Apple, the cat-sized green and pink fairy dragon, with her. Having him around garners a bit of a crowd, usually children, so she can’t be too hard to miss. ]

"Right."

The tip of his tail starts twitching again, as he tries to tell himself that it's fine. Everything's going to be fine. She's...dead, and that's incredibly sad, but she's going to come back to life.

"So you do have a life to return to, you just...have a few extra steps to go through after you get back before you get there," he says, trying to comfort himself as much as clarify.

"I don't have to do anything but wait in Vahalla for Bo to find the helskór and come get me." She wishes she could do more but that's it. There's nothing she can do on her side other than upset Freya and she's not about to do anything to anger the Valkyrie in charge of the afterlife.

She pauses her cleaning, setting everything down so she can move over and carefully hug Anton from behind while being careful of his tail. "Don't worry about me. Even if things don't work out Vahalla is pretty dope."

[devilishly_handsome]

"Well, that's good to hear, at least," he says, the end of his tail wrapping around her ankle for a second and giving a quick squeeze for a second before releasing in an attempt to return the hug.

"Thanks. And I'm glad to hear that you're situation back home is pretty okay even if you are...dead."

It's a difficult piece of information to learn, but he knows he can adjust to it. He just has to keep reminding himself that at least she got a good afterlife, and that she'll be getting to come back regardless.

She keeps the hug brief.

"I knew what I was getting into when I sacrificed myself." She says with a soft snort. It might have been harder to do if she wasn't aware of a 'get out of jail free card' existed.

[devilishly_handsome]

"Right," he says, "And at least it sounds like you died doing something that meant something."

At least, he assumed so much if she's referring to it as a sacrifice. It's just sad, all the same. But not as bad as if she'd just happened to die, and not as bad as if she was going to stay dead.

"I died fulfilling a prophecy. Which, by the way, those things suck."

She moves back over to continue cleaning the oven.

"Would not recommend." Unfortunately, prophecies tend to be unavoidable and once events begin rolling it's impossible to stop them.

[devilishly_handsome]

"Well, guess I'm lucky then. No prophecies about me, so I'm not going to get stuck with something like that."

Because it sounds pretty shitty to be stuck dying because something said you had to.

[heartstings]

"Yeah I didn't think those things existed and, oh look, all this bullshit that's happened was predicted long ago." She tosses her rag into a bucket and grabs up another.

"Really makes one wonder how much their choices really mattered."

[devilishly_handsome]

"Yeah," he says as he continues to scrub. "I guess it's pretty depressing when you think of it like that...but hey, at least there are a lot of things that haven't been prophecized, right?"

[heartstings]

Kenzi goes quiet for a few moments as she stares into the oven.

"Yeah, I guess." It might have been fine if it was just her death that had been part of the prophecy, but no, it had to take the love of her life too.

"Like...all the stuff here. That's not prophecized, right?"

[heartstings]

Kenzi shrugs. "I dunno man. I went my whole life not knowing about any sort of prophecy and then one day, BAM, prophecy central!"

[devilishly_handsome]

"But they probably don't prophecize stuff like...whether you're going to get drunk tonight, right?"

[heartstings]

"Naw, they're pretty vague and the wording might not be literal. Like, the one back home called for the daughter's heart to close a portal but it didn't mean her literal heart. It'd meant the thing she cared about most...or in this case the person." It'd been Kenzi. A part of her is kind of happy that she means so much to Bo, even after all the bullshit that's happened, but it also sucks.

[devilishly_handsome]

"Oh." Well, it's nice that she was loved enough to be someone's heart but...it's still a depressing prophecy and outcome. "Well, at least that means whenever you go out drinking, that much is your own free will, right?"

[heartstings]

It certainly does suck, but she's fine with it. Well, mostly fine with it. It would have been nice if Hale could have lived.

"I would certainly hope so."

Speaking of, it's probably time for a break. She tosses a second dirty rag away and stretches. "Speaking of drinks, how about a break?"

"Sure," he says, tossing his current dirty rag with the others. "A break sounds great! What've you got?"

[heartstings]

"Sweet, drinks and pizza it is." She strips off the protective wear and moves into the main area. She'll make a call to order to some pizzas while gathering up glasses and drinks.

"Any preference for toppings?"

[devilishly_handsome]

He takes off his own gloves and mask and follows her.

"Meat lovers is pretty good."

[heartstings]

"Good tastes, my dude." Once the order is in she sets out the glasses and a few bottles.

"What'll it be?"

[devilishly_handsome]

"Oh, I was thinking a cheap ale would go well with pizza."

He's always had fairly affordable tastes.

[heartstings]

"Currently out of ale but I guess we could make a trip to get some." Kenzi's never been that into beer. It's a good cheap option for parties and slinging in a bar but if she's doing some drinking she's going for wine or something hard.

[devilishly_handsome]

"No, that's fine," he says, not wanting to go to the extra trouble. "Cheap wine will work, too."

[heartstings]

"A'ight then, we feast on pizza and cheap wine." She grins as she goes to fish out a couple of bottles.

The pizza takes a little bit to arrive but it's still piping hot and before long they're all set up at one of the few tables in the main area of the bar.

When the pizza arrives, Anton settles down with some pizza and wine, taking a bite.

"You know, I really love how convenient things are in this universe."

Normally in his universe, they'd have to go out and find a place that served food or make it themselves if they wanted to eat, but here they had devices where they could just talk to anyone and have food delivered to them.
