OPEN LOG FOR JAN
WHO: Kenzi & OPEN
WHERE: Maurtia Falls & around
WHEN: January
WHAT: Some prompts for early January
WARNINGS: Alcohol, language, general Kenzi stuff
[A] THE RED BRANCH
[ Most any day of the week Kenzi can be found at the Branch. The exterior is still covered in graffiti but the front door, windows, and shutters have all been repaired. The door is unlocked to those that give it a try, though those with ill intent in their heart may find they can’t pass through the doorway.
Once inside the building is warm and inviting, if a little empty.
If Kenzi isn’t immediately in view her voice can be heard from somewhere in the building. ]
In here! [ Whereever here is. ]
[B] THE RED BRANCH SAND PIT
[ Some days the door is locked, but if one decides to wander the grounds a bit they’ll find a path has been cut through the overgrown that leads back around the building. There is a clearing with wooden seats built around a large pit of cleared land that has been filled in with sand. Broken weapon stands sit nearby. They’re mostly empty save a few broken wooden training weapons.
Well, there was sand but it’s now all been overtaken by grass which Kenzi is trying to clear away by any means necessary. In this case, it seems to be the use of her light abilities. Which seems to be doing a pretty good job of burning away the grass. ]
[C] GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN (OPEN; ANY CITY THAT ISN’T JEOPARDY)
[ Kenzi can be found in the bars and clubs in any of the cities; flirting, drinking, hustling some guys at pool if there happens to be a table, and dancing. She back from vacation and not letting the fun train come to a stop. Not yet, anyway.
She might also be found in a cafe or diner, window shopping, or just chilling on a bench. She likely has Sir Apple, the cat-sized green and pink fairy dragon, with her. Having him around garners a bit of a crowd, usually children, so she can’t be too hard to miss. ]
[D] WILDCARD
[ HMU on plurk or toss up your own prompt. ]

Say on the 7th. Lemme know if this does not work. Handwaves some contact...
Stepping out oft e limo, he knocked at her door, grinning. He was very glad to go on this not!date with her, having returned from a very odd port out and feeling very conflicted about it. Only to find that the one person he had planned to tell had been ported out and looked like they were not coming back. He had some energy and ideas to burn, and this sounded like the trip to do it.
Something that someone might notice is that he no longer wore his wedding ring. He was dead, after all, and had said what he thought was his final goodbye to his world.
no subject
"I wasn't sure what to bring so there isn't much in there." She's dressed comfortably enough, wings out on full display in her excitement.
She takes note of the missing wedding ring but she doesn't say anything, not yet anyway. She'd been there before, having returned at one point with the engagement ring Hale had given her. She never got a proper goodbye, however.
no subject
"Smart. We can definitely get more on the other side, and comfortable flying is better than lugging a lot of stuff." he held the door to the limo for her, letting her step into the luxurious back area while the driver took her luggage and stowed it in the trunk.
"There are champaign and vodka in the chiller, and some snacks tool, if you're hungry."
no subject
"I feel super underdressed," said as she looks through the available snacks.
no subject
He shakes his head.
"You are not. I am dressed up because I'm here for you, to make sure you have a good time." He nods to that.

Hearing Kenzi, he follows the sound of her voice to the back room to see what she's doing.
"Hey, Kenzi. I'm not sure what you need me to do first, but just give the word and I'll get started!"
no subject
"Hey. Um...well there's the kitchen and the bathrooms that need cleaning. The rooms upstairs also need the broken furniture removed and cleaning. The choice is yours." Though she really hopes he's willing to clean the bathrooms or kitchen.
no subject
"I can start with the kitchen."
just going to fudge the timeline a little...
Kenzi moves to the open doorway just behind the bar and leads into the decently sized kitchen. Everything it probably once held a nice shine to it but now it's covered in dust, grime, and rat dropping. Just beyond it is another doorway leading back into the pantry and walk-in.
"I've been avoiding this room but I guess it's about time to start on it."
no subject
"Well, I guess we'll just have to start at the top and work our way out. Do you have rags and a bucket? I have the feeling we'll be needing lots of rags. And possibly something to throw all the trash in."

[ill-intent as the lock? what happens if one is comprised of all manner of ill intentions?
it makes for a curious little circumstance, that's what. very curious. in this big, weird world, nothing pulls at a Mazoku's ear more than some direct rule set up in their regard: barriers, blessings, mandates...all walls to break through, sneer at, or otherwise ignore.
and since there's little else to do, why not sniff at this mystery a bit?
Xellos approaches the door, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.]
Now, let's see...
[what happens in just touching the door?]
no subject
She continues her cleaning completely unaware of Xellos' poking at her magic. He'll find that any attempt to touch the door will result in the air before the door rippling as if he's touched water. This is accompanied by a shock meant to deter anyone from trying again.
That is all assuming he means to cause Kenzi or the pub any harm. Otherwise, he'll simply touch the door. Then again, Xellos is quite the special case... ]
no subject
giving the handle a poke, he gets that little ripple and jolt and lets out an amused sound. what's this supposed to be? some special secret kept right out in the open, unafraid of intrusion?
well. how about he just teleport in? doors are for chumps!]
no subject
There are no real secrets to the place, however. It's just a rundown pub in the process of renovation. The strangest thing to be seen is the cat-sized green and pink fairy dragon curled up on the bar in a cat bed embroidered with apples. Somewhere overhead movement can be heard. ]
no subject
looking about, his attention fixes to the little creature snoozing on the bartop.]
My, my...is all that protection just for something like you?

Red Branch
Your friendly neighborhood exterminator's arrived, luv.
no subject
Can you call yourself an exterminator is it's already dead?
no subject
Call it creature control if you like.
[Even if he is actually an exterminator of creatures of the magical demonic sort.]
no subject
Sure, sure.
[ Kenzi moves around the bar, pausing to rub under the dragon's chin before continuing around to the open doorway that leads into the kitchen. ] It's in here. Do you need a bag or something for it?
no subject
I actually came prepared. [Having a plastic trash bag folded up in his pocket.]

6/11 for Gabriel
It doesn't take them long to get inside, though Kenzi stops near the food stalls. There's already a bit of a crowd filling the area around them. ]
Wanna hotdog or a drink before the game starts?
no subject
...It's not like Crowley and Aziraphale would be here.
He has had soda and popcorn.]
This is not a movie. So soda would not be appropriate right? Also why would a dog be hot?
You shouldn't overheat animals.
[He sounds pretentious and slightly chiding.] They're delicate. Is everybody here to see this game? Are they always this happy?
no subject
[ She levels a dead stare on him. ] Y'know, I can't tell if you're just this clueless or doing it on purposes. How can you know so little when you've been, what, watching us for thousands of years?
[ She sighs, resigning herself to explaining. ] I dunno why they're called hot dogs but they're not actually dogs. They're weiners, which is also a term for a penis which makes it even funnier to say. Anyway! It's just a tube of processed meat that's been cooked up and put in a bun and covered in condiments.
no subject
[He's about to say something and checks himself because he can feel the energy off this place. It's powerful and it's joyful and it feels familiar.]
I shop and even then it's only briefly. I don't get out that much - I never had a reason to.
I was busy. And until I spent time with humans it wasn't...interesting. Occasionally frustrating but also very interesting.
Well no, not occasionally. Very frustrating but also interesting.
no subject
She lets out a little laugh as he talks about humans being frustrating but interesting. She feels the same way about the Fae. Though lately much more frustrated with them. ]
Well, y'need to get out more. Like, lots more. Which I guess makes it a good thing you know me. [ Because she will force him to get out more. ]
