Winter Gala
WHO: Everyone
WHERE: Jeopardy
WHEN: Saturday, December 21 from 5:00 p.m. onward into the early morning hours of Sunday, December 22.
WHAT: The Winter Gala Fundraiser for Jeopardy Relief Efforts
WARNINGS: Please include any necessary warnings in your TLs.
NOTES: This post will serve as a catch-all for logs for the entire event (though you’re also welcome to post things elsewhere, of course).

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, mostly. In the wake of a near-apocalyptic event, the city of Jeopardy is in need. What started out as an idea to advertise Rikki Chadwick's burgeoning business, after a little more planning and nabbing some ideas from Kenzi's post, she and Rupert have reconfigured and rebranded their idea to focus less on her and more on the relief effort.

Characters will enter the venue after giving a small donation at the door and they will be greeted by a large room lit in blues, soft pinks, and purples. From the ceilings hang snowflakes made of glass. The centerpieces are also made of glass. Come to think of it, nearly all the decorations are made of glass. Except, that is, the mistletoe hanging from several of the rafters and archways. A buffet-style dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at which point, the buffet tables and seating tables will be cleared away to make room for the makeshift stage for the DJ and a gigantic dance floor.
Drinks will be flowing, music will be playing, and people will be bidding on silent auctions to win everything from one of the centerpieces to a date with their favorite imPort and everything in between. So, eat, drink, and be merry until you can't stay awake any longer. Why not? It's all for a good cause, after all.

Drink in one hand she looks up at him with a raised brow and one hand on her cocked hip. “Never seen a little mistletoe before?”
no subject
"I fail to see the appeal of adding them to the otherwise immaculate decor." he admits "The plant itself is hardly appealing."
no subject
“I’ll tell you.”. Or, rather, she’ll show him.
no subject
"Well, I'm listening."
no subject
“A holiday tradition of kissing under the mistletoe.” She grins up at him. “Y’know I think I like the smaller headpiece and horns better.”
no subject
So this just happened.
"I was not aware of this tradition." No harm in admitting that much. But his confusion isn't entirely gone "What smaller headpiece?"
no subject
"And now you are," her voice is overly cheerful.
"Hmm, lemme see..." She trails off as she brings her hands up in front of her, nearly cupping them as if holding something unseen. She takes in a breath and closes her eyes, shortly after the air shimmers in her hands. For a moment there's a glint of gold and then a pop as a small red wooden brick drops into her hands.
She frowns upon seeing the toy and tosses it aside. "Once more."
She does the same thing as before, face screwing up in concentration. This time the glint of gold expands as if made of liquid until it shapes itself into a headpiece that resembles his helmet.
"This one. Looks less like you're overcompensating for something." She looks so pleased with herself.
no subject
"Nice little trick." he comments when she tosses the brick aside and tries again.
The next item seems to be what she has been aiming for and it earns her a raised brow from the Asgardian, who also glances up towards his own helmet.
"Overcompensating? I'm not-" The sentence remains unfinished, but he does reach up to pull the massive golden thing from his head and give it a more critical look "This helmet was given to me by--" But again he doesn't finish, instead settles with a grimace. Right. Because that heritage still matters, does it?
Shifting his attention away from the horned monstrosity and back at Kenzi, Loki frowns.
"You think it's that bad?"
no subject
She raises her brow, head tilting a bit as she grins at his protest. Though when he says it was a gift she can understand why he'd wear it. "Important then. I get it."
She shrugs. "It's certainly done no favors for your hair."
no subject
For a short moment Loki looks irritated, distracted by his own train of thought. But then he adjusts the hold he has on his unwieldy piece of armor, resting it in the palm of one hand before pressing his other hand against the golden brow and calling upon his own magic. It's his turn to focus and the helmet begins to glow and shift. He may not be able to create stuff from nothing, but rearranging molecules has been something he has been doing for centuries, even back on Asgard.
Of course reshaping his helmet into a smaller headpiece would result in a decent amount of excess gold, but that can easily be fused into the remaining pieces of his armor.
So yes, that's what he does. And the new piece he comes out with is, indeed, quite similar to Kenzi's creation. Maybe the horns are still a little longer and it sports a rather distinct set of decorations along the edges. But it's close. Once finished, he turns it in his hands to show it to her.
"How about this?"
no subject
Her eyes widen as she watches him reshape the helmet into something closer to the piece she'd made. When he's done and shows it to her she raises her own to compare the two.
"Not bad. Still think the horns are overcompensating though." She grins, tone a little playful.
"And, hey, now I can do a more accurate sexy cosplay for Fanport." Not something she'd atctually planned before this moment.
no subject
"I can't break with all of Asgard's traditions in one evening." He comments, weighing his head from side to side "This one already won't hold up well in battle unless I utilize it as a weapon." Which he is, in fact, considering. It's light, made of Asgardian gold and those horns are indeed sharp.
Feeling satisfied enough, Loki settles with a simple smile, now raising a brow at her again.
"But if you plan to cosplay me, I want to see pictures." He means this.
no subject
"Anything can make a decent weapon if you try hard enough." Her gaze drifts back down to the headpiece in her hands and she wonders what she can do with it until the night is over. It clashes with her Sugar Plum Fairy themed outfit. Maybe it won't disappear if she puts it in coat-check with her coat.
When he mentions wanting pictures her head snaps up as she blinks at him. Her surprised expression is quickly replaced with a grin. "Why a picture when I could just show you in person?"
no subject
He proceeds to shake his head in a bemused way, setting aside her comment on potential weaponry but at the same time not appearing overly offended by her jab at Asgardian traditions.
"I won't object to a personal presentation either. Unlike others, I wish to know what people make of me."
no subject
"Probably for the best that you don't open up the possibilities of getting photos from me." Because he'll probably get some he doesn't exactly want, not all naughty ones but like random cat memes and crap.
"Just out of curiosity, but how little clothing is too little and potentially offensive to you?" She somehow manages to keep a completely innocent look on her face.
no subject
"Though I expect you to be getting in trouble with the local laws sooner than you manage to offend me with a little nudity."
no subject
"I wouldn't go parading down the street like Lady Godiva. That'd be silly."
no subject
For now, though, he simply grins "See? A few centuries ago that wouldn't be as much of a problem. Mortals used to be a lot simpler when Asgardians still interacted with them. They loved to do things naked."
He may or may not be exaggerating a little. Asgardians mostly interacted with ancient Vikings after all.
no subject
"But you're not wrong, people can be such prudes. I imagine it was much the same when the Fae was a bit more open with humans. Back when they called themselves gods." Though there were plenty of Fae who didn't care for the rules and still played with humans the way they always had.
no subject
"But leaving that aside... If they wish to consider certain beings their gods, why deny them?"
no subject
She sighs, of course he'd take their side. "Just because they got special powers. It's ridiculous."
no subject
no subject
"The Fae harm humans all the time. We're nothing but pets and cattle to most of them. Light Fae, Dark Fae, doesn't matter they see us as beneath them." Definitely a sore point.
no subject
"But why?" is what he settles with to ask further.
no subject
There are some Fae she absolutely loves, that she gave her life for, but most of them could rot for all she cared. Why'd she ever try so hard to be one of them?
