It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, mostly. In the wake of a near-apocalyptic event, the city of Jeopardy is in need. What started out as an idea to advertise Rikki Chadwick's burgeoning business, after a little more planning and nabbing some ideas from Kenzi's post, she and Rupert have reconfigured and rebranded their idea to focus less on her and more on the relief effort.


Characters will enter the venue after giving a small donation at the door and they will be greeted by a large room lit in blues, soft pinks, and purples. From the ceilings hang snowflakes made of glass. The centerpieces are also made of glass. Come to think of it, nearly all the decorations are made of glass. Except, that is, the mistletoe hanging from several of the rafters and archways. A buffet-style dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at which point, the buffet tables and seating tables will be cleared away to make room for the makeshift stage for the DJ and a gigantic dance floor.

Drinks will be flowing, music will be playing, and people will be bidding on silent auctions to win everything from one of the centerpieces to a date with their favorite imPort and everything in between. So, eat, drink, and be merry until you can't stay awake any longer. Why not? It's all for a good cause, after all.

"Try me." Loki suggests with a small gesture and half a shrug.

"Though I expect you to be getting in trouble with the local laws sooner than you manage to offend me with a little nudity."

Try me, he says. Like she isn't going to do just that.

"I wouldn't go parading down the street like Lady Godiva. That'd be silly."

Of course he's counting on it.

For now, though, he simply grins "See? A few centuries ago that wouldn't be as much of a problem. Mortals used to be a lot simpler when Asgardians still interacted with them. They loved to do things naked."

He may or may not be exaggerating a little. Asgardians mostly interacted with ancient Vikings after all.

[heartstings]

"Humans still love to do things naked." She grins back at him with a wink.

"But you're not wrong, people can be such prudes. I imagine it was much the same when the Fae was a bit more open with humans. Back when they called themselves gods." Though there were plenty of Fae who didn't care for the rules and still played with humans the way they always had.

"They also do things clothed these days." The Asgardian counters with a casually knowing smirk before a look of thoughtfulness crosses his face "Or virtually." Yeah, he's still working on fully figuring that out. But he's getting there.

"But leaving that aside... If they wish to consider certain beings their gods, why deny them?"

[heartstings]

"Mmn, yeah." There's a little brow waggle. If he wants help figuring that one out...

She sighs, of course he'd take their side. "Just because they got special powers. It's ridiculous."

"Did they harm anyone?" A simple question. But an important one.

[heartstings]

All sense of playfulness leaves Kenzi.

"The Fae harm humans all the time. We're nothing but pets and cattle to most of them. Light Fae, Dark Fae, doesn't matter they see us as beneath them." Definitely a sore point.

Loki falls silent to that, frowning. That's very different from how Asgard handled the matter. For better or for worse. And yet even Loki has never meant to mindlessly keep slaughtering humans once Midgard were his.

"But why?" is what he settles with to ask further.

[heartstings]

"Because they have power? Because for whatever reason we are literally food for them." She shrugs as her gaze returns to the headpiece in her hands, turning it over idly.

There are some Fae she absolutely loves, that she gave her life for, but most of them could rot for all she cared. Why'd she ever try so hard to be one of them?

Food. So this is natural behavior? Which, yes. There are planets that simply work that way. But in his universe those planets aren't part of Yggdrasil. The thought, though, leaves Loki pensive and he glances away, an odd sense of responsibility nagging at him.

"The Midgard I am familiar with, Asgard protects it for that very reason. I am sorry we did not protect yours."

[heartstings]

It's mostly not as bad as he's possibly imagining. Most Fae feed off of human emotions, lifeforce, or even talents. Though there are those that feed on human flesh or blood. But unless he asks she's not going to bother explaining.

She shrugs, "I'm not sure Asgard exists back home. Valhalla and Hel certainly do though. And it wouldn't matter, your kind would all be Fae as well. I mentioned knowing more than one Loki, one wasn't a version of you."

He narrows his eyes at her at those words, possibly more than intended. But he doesn't voice what irks him about her statement.

"My name is more of a collective term to you, is it?" Also not what's truly bothering him, but a curious detail to nitpick at.

[heartstings]

It's a little weird how it works back in her world. Ryan was a Loki but Freya is a Valkyrie in charge of Valhalla rather than a Fae species known as Freya.

She shrugs, "That's just the case back home. Loki is a species of Fae rather than the name of a god. I guess maybe there was the original Loki and any now are simply descendants?" She never bothered to look up how the whole Loki species came about as it was never that important to her. All she knew was that she didn't like Ryan because he was Dark and a jerk.

"Well, I am not a species." Loki points out with a frown.

"But from the sound of it I may have to find a way to your realm and wipe out this group of beings that has chosen to abuse my name." He almost huffs a little, but then adds "Once I find a way off this realm."

[heartstings]

"Fair." Not that she won't continue to think of him as a Loki given the nature of the 'Porter.

"That seems a bit extreme." Not that she wouldn't mind if something unfortunate were to happen to Ryan. "Who says they're abusing it and not honoring it?

Loki puts on a grin that is maybe a little too wide, then shakes his head.

"Well, I am not requesting endorsement." No, he has simply decided to do this, disregarding entirely just how it might not even be possible for him to reach her version of Earth. He has managed to reach stranger places, right?

"But today we are here to enjoy this little event. Without concerning ourselves with the unpleasantries we left in our respective realms."

[heartstings]

Kenzi shrugs. "Well, okay. Good luck with all that." Even if it were possible for him to do so she's not sure how he'd track down every single Loki in existence. The Fae tend to be a bit secretive about what kind of Fae they are in order to hide their weaknesses.

"True that." Without a second thought, she reaches over to pat his upper arm. "Anyway! Happy bidding and all that. I must find others to bother."
