[Open] Maurtia Falls - Night Clubs

[ Inanna has been keeping a surprisingly low profile since their return to this world; an oddity that seems to be finally coming to an end. Bwitter has begun reporting sightings of the goddess at various night clubs throughout the city, and it's not exactly hard to catch them out for a night of revelry or to enjoy some local bands.

They've been avoiding VIP tables, choosing instead to sit amongst the other club goers which may not always be the best choice. Eager fans flock around them for attention and the chance of an invite back to their hotel suite, and Inanna is always happy to soak up the attention. It's not as good as the invigorating thrill that comes with a performance, but it will do for now. Unfortunately it does sometimes mean that paths through the club are blocked by clusters of fans hoping for a few minutes with the goddess—pretty annoying for anyone who just wants to party. ]

[ The growing attention Inanna has been getting on Bwitter means more attention from the media as well. They've been caught by a pair of photographers leaving a fashion boutique today, and they're having a grand time indulging them by posing with their bags and some new accessories they've picked up. And, when the photographers spot another imPort passing by, Inanna reaches out with a quick wave for attention— ]

Hello! Have a minute for a quick photo? I think we'd make their day.

[Open] Heropa - Lakefront

[ It isn't all basking in too much attention though. On some warm nights, Inanna can be spotted at one of Heropa's nearby lakes. There isn't any sunbathing to be done here, but there is a lot of time to just lounge in the quiet peace of the evening and enjoy the scenery laid out before them, occasionally taking a dip into the lake for a relaxing swim. ]

[ josh leans in a little, glance dropping to inanna's mouth as they speak. it'd be flirty and forward if not for the fact that he's clearly concentrating. once inanna finishes, though, his glance flicks back up, doe-brown eyes warming as the dog in his arms squirms. he makes a small noise in his throat, crouching to set the pup back down-- who races off to lick the other figure's hand before flinging himself into the water with the other dogs.

with his hands freed, they flick as if to start signing, then pause. he clears his throat awkwardly, and after a moment, with the uncertain hesitation of someone who has no idea what he sounds like: ] They're still learning their manners. [ he signs as he speaks; he has trouble verbalizing if he isn't doing so. ]

[ Well that's certainly new—at least among imPorts. Inanna spares a quick pat for the excited pup before it races off again, and watches Josh's mannerisms thoughtfully. They pat the ground beside them in an invitation to sit, but make sure to look directly at him when they speak this time. ]

I don't see a problem with their manners. They're just having fun. Not hurting anyone.

[ he hesitates a moment longer, then takes the invitation, glance flicking in quiet curiosity from inanna's hair to face, carefully not dropping any lower than their throat as he seats himself. ]

They're shelter dogs, [ he explains with a small smile. ] I'm teaching them basic stuff, socializing them, so they get to go home with someone as soon as possible.

[ in fact, the dogs are running in and out of the water, playing on the sand and the grass, getting their energy out. one, a massive black mutt, comes trotting up to flop wetly at josh's side. it earns a quick, fond glance from josh himself, before he turns back to inanna, indicating himself. ] I'm Josh. You're-- [ a brief pause, lifting his hands to spell out I-N-A-N-N-A. ] I'm sorry, I'm not sure how to say it. [ a gesture to his ear, indicating his deafness. then, carefully: ] Like Dio. Right? One of the-- the Pantheon.

[ Inanna glances towards the dogs with an approving smile, and then back at Joshua again. ] It looks like pretty fun work. I'd be lying if I said I weren't a little jealous. [ Not very jealous, but just enough to mention. ]

[ Their smile brightens at the mention of Dio. This boy had already seemed interesting at a glance, and even more so knowing he knew the Pantheon already. ]

Inanna, that's right. How did you meet Dio?

[ he pays very close attention as inanna's mouth as they say their name, satisfied after that he'd be able to make the approximate sounds. probably, at least. no one's winced too badly at his pronunciation lately, anyway-- probably because he's had more practice speaking.

at the question, he reaches up to tuck an errant curl back from his face, adjusting one of the bandages on his hands as he thinks of how to answer. ]

He.. invited me to one of his parties. [ is that the right word for it? ] Since I'm deaf, I didn't think it would do me much good, since you're all mostly singers and musicians. But he was able to connect me in with everyone else a little. [ his glance flicks aside briefly, shy again, hands pausing in their signing. ] I could.. hear. Through other people.

[ Inanna's gaze flicks down to the bandages, and there's obvious curiosity in their expression. Had there been some imPort mess this guy had been caught in, or had something else happened? An accident?

They're all questions Inanna refuses to ask—at least for now. It's a bit rude to pry into the life of someone they've only just met. Instead, their attention moves back to Josh himself, and a pleased, almost relieved look settles over them. ]

I'm glad he could do that for you. It's... Well, I don't want to sound too self-important, but I really do think it's something everyone should have the chance to experience at least once.

[ he catches the glance, because josh is accustomed to having to pay close attention to everything around him, but inanna doesn't bring it up and josh doesn't volunteer the information. it's not that he's ashamed of them--he's had the stigmata as long as he can remember--but things can get.. awkward when he admits what they are. ]

He's nice, [ he says instead, lips tilting back up. ] I made brownies with weed in them for him. That was definitely a new baking experience. [ but hey, they were what dio wanted, so. ] I've seen the videos and the photos from Persephone's and-- and Lucifer's concerts. [ she's not lu, not at all, but it's still.. strange for him. ] Things like that. They seem like they must be really intense.

[ There's a laugh that they don't try to stifle. Weed brownies did sound just like what Dio would ask for. ]

The concerts are always intense. Sometimes painful depending on which of us is performing, but even those are cathartic. [ They motion as if something is rising away from them. ] Like having a weight lifted from you.
