[It's taken some adjusting to get used to living this planet. He was used to having a routine and being busy, the inactivity made him restless and even more irritated at being stuck on here with few allies. Even wearing clothes that are normal for this place every bit of him is stiff, wary and on edge.
In the mornings he was up a bit before dawn for a run before work, the afternoon he spent running errands, often being found in bookstores stocking up on books on history, science, and technology. He hated being bored and he really hated having idle time on his hands.
Evenings were when he could be found in more questionable parts of the city, blaster tucked out of sight in one pocket in his coat, his gloves off just in case. He likes to be kept busy, even when business has him out in the early hours of the morning. Even when he hears footsteps behind him he doesn't turn, only adjusting the cuffs of his coat, every bit of him on edge.]
closed to bodhi.
Mornings were his time. It was quiet in the early morning, just before dawn so it allowed him to clear his mind on his morning runs. It was time that he had to himself without Kylo Ren in his head or having to deal with business.
At least, until he caught sight of a familiar rebel pilot. He didn't carry his blaster with him this morning but he was hardly defenseless as he slowed to a walk. He wasn't concerned, he was sure he could deal with one rebel if he had to.]
Are you following me now, Bodhi Rook?
[He appreciated Kay handing him that name as well, the droid was surprisingly helpful despite being insufferable.]
live on the wide side.

illuminations for plotting.]

De Chima - afternoon at the bookshop
Currently he was skimming a section near Technology. The shelves held books on advanced weaponry, although from what he'd already seen their version of 'advanced' here left much to be desired. He pulled a large book from the shelf and began flicking through the pages, looking very unimpressed.]
no subject
He was surprised he hadn't heard of a Duros being here before so it made it less likely that he was allied with the rebels. But that didn't mean that he would be an Imperial or First Order ally so he would tread carefully.]
It is frustrating how primitive the supposed advanced technology is here, isn't it? [He said simply, regarding Cad Bane carefully before selecting a book to page through it.] But the natives here are so proud of themselves, it would be amusing if it wasn't so pitiful.
no subject
Is it much more advanced where you come from?
no subject
Yes, quite a bit more advanced. I'm used to being able to travel entire sectors of the galaxy in a matter of minutes. Being stuck on one backwater planet is well, limiting.

De Chima, evening. I've been wanting to get these two to interact /)(\
Technically, he could revert in any of the cities -De Chima being the lucky pick this time-, but he doesn't think for one second that the Autobots wouldn't be up his barrel -for nothing more than showing his robot mode- once they got word of it.
The voice is vaguely female and all too amused.]
Most who wander these parts aren't on edge. You're the redhead that responded to Kay's post.
[At least he thinks so. Telling humans apart is hard, ok.]
yess awesome
[He wouldn't deny or hide the conflict with those from the Resistance or the Rebel Alliance here. He didn't recall the stranger, but then again he hadn't had the time to really follow that insufferable droid's conversations on the network that closely.
But if this person was a friend of the rebels or of the droid, then he had every reason to be wary.]
I take it you're associated with it
no subject
No, we've spoken twice. He was a decent medic when I arrived.
no subject
[He doubted Imperial strategy droids were given any medical programming so he wondered how the droid pulled it off. It must have been a part of the programming done by the Rebellion.]
I suppose you're lucky to be alive. Droids like that aren't programmed medical droids.
here we go
It doesn't look like he'll be finding that today. He hasn't seen Hux since the confrontation at the bookstore, or a passing conversation over the network but the less he comes into contact with him, the better - given both meetings. Ignoring the annoyance at hearing his name uttered (because he liked it better when the man didn't know it, he felt a little more... secure), he shrugs. ]
Don't flatter yourself, I didn't know you were out here.
<3
[He wanted nothing more than to snap the pilot's neck, to make sure Bodhi's comrades would really miss him. Even if there were no witnesses, it really didn't suit his purposes to just kill Bodhi at the moment even if it was a tempting thought.]
They seemed to really miss you, it was quite touching.
no subject
Bodhi is aware, that out of his group he's the only one that Hux has attacked physically, without being provoked first. Well, mostly unprovoked.
And the comment about his friends, knowing the way he'd taunted them about his whereabouts and possible demise. But no, he wasn't gonna play up to it. ]
Yeah? I don't think anyone could say the same for you if you left. That'd probably be cause for celebrations.
no subject
But you're not used to being brave, are you? I can see how much you want to prove yourself, Bodhi Rook. It's clear in your eyes but I think you're mostly trying to convince yourself of your bravery more than you're trying to convince me.
[He chuckled, shaking his head.]
I'm sure you were attempting to hurt my feelings but I don't need to be popular in order to do what's necessary. [He wouldn't be surprised if a great many people across the galaxy wanted to kill him, it was the price he was willing to do to bring peace and stability to the galaxy.
He knew who he was, what he was, and he wouldn't change it.]

de chima evening (i had to, gomen)
Hey, bitch!
[he waves, grinning.]
oh god <3
[Hux recognized Archie, stopping to look him over with an unimpressed look. It really was a pity there was no airlock to have this man shoved out of. He really had to be creative in solving problems on this planet lately.
He smirked, raising his eyebrows with amusement.]
I remember you. Don't you have a mud pit to be rolling in right now?
hehehehehehe
An' take up the pig space? Don't be silly.

[Not that he knew much about pigs, he wasn't used to nature or really, being outdoors at all.]

De Chima - Bookshop
[ He was so absorbed into what he was reading that he almost didn't notice the bad feeling tingling in the back of his mind. Luke looked up, just in time to see Hux passing by the aisle he was in, and he frowned bitterly, turning away and hoping he hadn't been noticed. ]
no subject
He stepped back to look Luke over with amusement, raising his eyebrows.]
Should I give you a chance to run away this time? [He was unaware of the situation with the clone but he still fondly remembered the sight of tears in Luke's eyes.] It seems you're less emotional today at least.

De Chima - in the wee hours of the morning
Bela turns a corner sharply, almost knocking into someone.
Sorry, Hux.]
no subject
He frowned as he recognized Bela, moving his hand away from his pocket though he was still wary.]
Well, I can't say I was expecting to run into you here of all places.
no subject
She watched him move his hand away, taking a small step back to give them space to breathe.]
Could say the same for you, Hux. De Chima isn't my usual haunt but I heard good things about the night life.
[It's a stretch of the truth. Not really revealing her actual reason for being here.]

De Chima - bookshop - does bad things with romcom trope
Like how looking out a planetary vista from inside it's atmosphere can seem, to limited human perspective, much vaster than hyperspace. True infinity can't be held in the mind. It almost looks flat. Impose limits and you start to be able to grasp enormity.
For a single planet—and, probably a more active invariable, without a specified mission—Cassian has a harder time narrowing down what to focus on.
Since the thesis of this life is to be the inverse of the other, focus on the micro rather than the macro… he applies that to this second reeducation by choosing subject matter based on what might be relevant (interesting, helpful) to the people around him.
Getting to know this planet's attitude on robotics had been strangely hilarious. He still hasn't broached the subject of this Asimov person's framing with Kay but it's on the mental queue.
The things he'd grabbed while thinking of Jyn were probably the widest ranging, and might have gotten him a strange look from the checkout clerk.
Today is Bodhi. He's holding Man's Search for Meaning and Rumi, looking for a third. He winds up in the technology section, thinking of pilotry.]
[OOC: and their hands meet reaching for the same book… except they'd notice each other sooner but y'know.]
no subject
It would be satisfying to just strike and walk away before Cassian's body hit the floor but where would be the satisfaction in that? He had other things he was working on and that was going to be far more enjoyable. However, that didn't mean he had to behave.
It's an easy thing to flick a small bit of flame to the open book in Cassian's hands before he approached.]
You should really be more careful with that. [He remarked with amusement as he took a book off the shelf right near Cassian.]
I would hate for you to get burned.
no subject
Though he'd been utterly unprepared for it here. With neither active weaponry nor volcanos.
Too startled to swear, Cassian snapped instantly to react: cracking one knee to the floor and clapping the book blaze-down with it. His eyes alternating between scanning for a source and suffocating the flame.
When he saw Hux… the look in his eyes changed. He slowly drew himself up to his feet again.
(Eyes still moving rapidly. Initially looking for the concealed blaster. Then… Hux's taunt filling in blanks that Cassian couldn't have without it; eyes lifting, somewhere between bland and accusing, to Hux's face. Was that a Portgranted power on display? Had Hux just showed a tiniest part of a hand?)]
I hadn't paid for that yet. That's vandalism against an honest business, General. Thought you were against that.
