There’s something happening here
WHO: imPorts!
WHERE: Maurtia Falls ‘Big Sleep’ hotel, and in the Maurtia Falls Central Park directly across the street
WHEN: Noon to dusk on August 15th, a fine sunny day
WHAT: Registration in motion inside, dissent in motion outside! While the government hosts its Swearing-In and Might Club training event within the hotel, dissatisfied imPorts stage a Swear-Out protest nearby to demonstrate their displeasure! Remember to record your character’s status here
WARNINGS: Non-lethal violence in the Might Club prompt. Note that this event is divided into two top-levels for the two competing gatherings- see here for plotting and further details
Welcome, imPorts new and old! It’s a beautiful summer day in Maurtia Falls, at least by the standards of that frequently dark city, and a great day for having a party. Or two competing parties, in this case.
All of you have been taken to another universe and asked to Register with the government that hosts you. Most are willing to cooperate with this system, but some are unhappy. So while the authorities celebrate the path of heroism and generous benefits inside a gorgeous hotel, some imPorts and their native supporters have gathered in the park across the street to promote a vision of independence and betterment in opposition to the status quo. And of course, the cameras of reporters and fans alike are everywhere, recording almost everything for the world to watch.
Maybe you’re concerned about the signs of division in this super-powerful imPort community and its complicated, tense relationship with the local government. Or maybe you’re just happy to have twice as many opportunities to mingle and scoop up free food. Visit one event, visit the other, or visit both: the choice is yours. And isn’t choice what days like today are all about?

[ He followed his gaze, frowning to himself. ]
You're not wrong... I'm not sure what this is all supposed to accomplish other than to isolate us further.
[ He paused, before sighing. ]
...not that I'm thrilled about being monitored all the time. Or being forced to do something.

Even though his best friends are pseudo-Newtypes.][After looking out into the crowd for a moment, Duo quietly snorts.] Grandstanding. [He smiles without humor.] Inflammation is good for rebellion.
[Good for rebellion, perhaps, but not so much for peace. One did not necessarily lead into the other. Not truly.]
[He catches himself. He has to be careful about how much more he says around here. He turns quickly, suddenly, to shoot Adachi a wicked smirk.] Dooku is a smart guy. Cause a scene that will show the government actively working to oppress our voices. This event will be a success for us, don't you think?

...it depends. There are a lot of ways everything can go wrong.

[Still, for what was being aimed at with this event...] That's just what we're aiming for. Whether it's a mess one way or the other, it'll cause destabilization. [Duo gives Adachi's shoulder a hearty slap, smirk still curled with a flash of teeth.] 'course, I'll be gone before that mess goes down. I'm not the kind of guy to stick around for a massacre. Just sit back and enjoy the show!

I'm not exactly in the business of watching massacres happen. Not anymore, anyway.
sad news everyone: FT!Duo is 45.
[A hard but exasperated grin.] Sounds like a fun story.
[Well, wouldn't be the first time someone caught on to his crazy, wouldn't be the last. If he was going to let it peek out anywhere, it'd be amongst a collection of batshit rabblerousers he's trying to lead off his trail, though.]
[This guy, though... His punishment probably had only turned him further against the group, and likely, he wasn't loyal. Duo thinks he could use this, when he's more certain that he's at a point where he can safely doubledeal the Constellation. No, not here, of course, in the thick of them; but eventually.]
[He'll keep it in mind.] So you'll try to stop them?
Dammit, Duo, you weren't allowed to get old.
...if I'm wrong about Dooku-- [ Unlikely, but... ] --then I'll support this thing with all I've got. If I'm not, then I'll make sure he knows first hand that he can't stop me. It's that simple.
even prettyboys gotta become geezers sometime
[Well, even if he was an idiot, he had balls. Duo could give him that.]
[He holds a hand up after a second.] ...Then again, I owe you one for the hints you've given me.
Rude.
I've survived worse.
[ Look, nothing Dooku threw at him could be worse than nearly getting turned into an Adachikabob by a pissed off fire god. Literally nothing. ]
Don't worry about it. I figured out a long time ago I wasn't the only idiot keeping a close eye on what these guys were doing.
he is very rude
Survivors do pretty well in these places, but people who can keep their cards close do too. 'Good luck', I guess.
[He turns, no longer facing Adachi directly anymore, but the curl of his mouth retain its humor, even with a slide in the jaw of irritation.] Better this way. [Divided, is what he means. A fractured resistance meant it was more difficult to connect them all together, and difficult to eliminate, even if it meant cooperation suffered. This was a different kind of beast from a military, the enemy the Constellation itself sought to oppose.]
The rudest
Still, it's important to know when to pull out someone else's calling card, 'ya know?
[ He gave him a half smirk, before turning, paying more attention to the crowd around them then to him. ]
So. Who's card should I be pulling out if I need to collaborate with you on anything?
no subject
[His mind flits through the options. Couldn't use his public name, of course; it can't be directly connected so blatantly to Constellation. He can't use his usual moniker, either- not when he was so closely codenamed within the organization, when Dooku would know it.]
[There was one more codename he used, home and back in the City; no one else here would notice or remember it, probably, that was left. And no one knew the name it could be connected to. Duo tilts his head slightly in consideration, smiling at Adachi.] Zero-Two, if you really need something.
no subject
[ Adachi glanced back at him, taking in his look again. That sounded more like a military call-sign than some kind of alter ego. But... well, the guy looked pretty old? He had thought kid before, but now that he got a better look, those were definitely some Dojima-like stress wrinkles on the guy's face. ]
[ But whatever; at least it was easy to remember. ]
All right; let me know if you need the same.
