Turning over a new LIF
WHO: The imPorts!
WHERE: The Ashen Tree, NYC, New York. Need help getting there? See here!
WHEN: April 14th, 8:00 PM - April 15th 1:00 AM
WHAT: The April Swearing In Guessing Game!
WARNINGS: None foreseeable!
Welcome to The Ashen Tree! This sleek, elegant private property leased out only occasionally for limited and exclusive events. The Ashen Tree is a five story, century-and-half old mansion down East 67th Street, constructed somewhat in the vein of those famed and excessive Vanderbilt houses. The theme inherent to The Ashen Tree is in black and white -- this duality means more than just visual aesthetic. There is right, and there is wrong. There is good and there is evil. There is Registered and there is Unsettled. This reoccurring dilemma won't be lost upon your hosts, governmental or otherwise.
The thrust of this Swearing In is to play a game! There will be two versions of this game. If you are newly imPorted (if this is the FIRST Swearing In that occurred since you have been ported in), then you are automatically entered into a raffle to win prizes! You can enter your name into the raffle ONCE for EVERY THREAD with A DIFFERENT CHARACTER that you have! How lucky you are! If you have BEEN here (if this is NOT the first Swearing In that occurred since you have been ported in), then you may only enter the raffle if you WIN at the game.
What is the game?
The Identity Game.
Every imPort who is in the DESIGNATED ROOMS: ROOT, TRUNK, BRANCH, and TWIGS will do their best to pretend to act like another imPort. If someone (who is also in character, just like you are) guesses what imPort you are pretending to be, then THEY may enter their name in the raffle. If you guess the pretend identity of someone else, then YOU get to enter your name in the raffle. There is no sign-up for who pretends to be whom, and there can be multiple imPorts impersonating the same imPort. That will not be regulated. The more you guess correctly someone's pretend identity (which can be achieved by threading with many people), the more you get to enter your name in the raffle. You MUST guess the identity of the imPort being impersonated correctly -- there is right and there is wrong. If someone guesses your character's impersonation correctly, then you have to tell them. You do not have to keep the same impersonation for the WHOLE LOG, but you do for at least a single thread! No changing up identity on someone. ANY imPort can play this game, INCLUDING new imPorts. While new imPorts can play the Guessing Game, or impersonate other imPorts to their desire, their eligibility to enter the raffle is still judged differently. Because they're new!
The LEAVES ROOM is the "safe" zone. You can be yourself! You can stop pretending! Well, maybe some imPorts never actually stop pretending -- maybe there is some gray between all this black and white.

Honey Lemon | Registered | ota
As she mentally redesigns the room, she cradles a glass of wine close to her chest. It was offered to her by a server, and, despite being one who rarely consumes alcohol, she cheerfully accepted it. They were just so gracious that it was difficult to refuse.
Taking a very small sip of her drink, she peers up at the ceiling, smiling slightly at the fairy lights. ]
That looks pretty.. [ She says absently, mostly talking to herself, and not expecting anyone nearby to answer. ]
Re: Honey Lemon | Registered | ota
I appreciate their commitment to the theme.

It looked like they worked really hard.

Could use some color. [nevermind that the only color he has on is the mustard-yellow Gemini symbol on his shirt, and his red and blue glasses] But the black-white duality's a good start.
[Incidently, those are the colors of his shoes. One black, one white. What a weird asshole]

When he enters this room he has a full serving tray of food (having convinced a server to let him have the whole thing to himself) and his eyes catch a very tall girl. He tilts his head as he notices her staring at the ceiling. The first thought is what she's looking at.
So, he just walks over and stops beside her and looks up as well. The tray is offered out to her because now he's getting full but food shouldn't be wasted.]
I'll give you food if you tell me what we're looking at.
[But, only if he gets his question answered.]

Just the lights! [ She says, all while lifting an arm to point at the display dispersed across the ceiling. ]
They're a nice touch.
no subject
He just squints at the little lights.]
Oh, that's all? Seem pretty impractical to me. Like if they fell on people. They'd totally get wrapped up and well, who knows what'll happen.
[He sounds rather indifferent to the thought of potential, imaginary people.]
no subject
The thought of the lights falling upon the crowd below was a scenario that had not crossed her mind. In fact, she's never had that worry in general when it comes to hanging lights. ]
That would be bad.. [ Her head tilts to the side as she squints to hone in on the fixture. ] ..but they seem sturdy enough.

Isn't it? I wish they could've put them in every room but I guess that would've ruined the fanciness.

The only problem is, Krei can't remember her actual name. He'd never taken the time to ask.
He hesitates before sidling up to her, responding to her absentminded murmur.]
You might enjoy the view from the windows a little better. It's not nearly as colorful as San Fransokyo, but it's still impressive.
no subject
Nothing looks quite like San Fransokyo. [ She adds with a half hearted laugh. ]

Do you mind if I call you Honey, or is there something else you prefer to go by?

Kazuha probably would have liked them too, he thought, with a small, homesick smile on his face.]
Mm, they seem t'brighten up th' room at least.

Definitely! Now if only they could have picked brighter colors to do the same!

He says nothing of it though, smiling pleasantly instead and taking in her appearance. Young. Human so far as he can tell, she lacks the pointed ears of one of the Eldar. He's never seen glasses before so that draws a curious look.]
Lovely indeed. [Even if it seems pointless to him to imitate real stars.]

They light up the room, I think. [ Because the rest of the decorations just appear so dull to her. ]
