There's a crowd waiting just outside the reception hall, having been waiting for nearly two hours to catch a glimpse of their Heroes. The event's organizers have actually set up a line barring anyone who is not attending the Swear-In from crossing and for the most part, locals keep behind these lines, snapping harmless pictures, or sometimes excitedly calling for an imPort on their way inside the building to pose for a picture or ask for an autograph.

The citizens of Orlando are more than happy to see their heroes. Many of them will thank imPorts for their assistance during the October incidents. There will be the occasional one or two reporters who aren't allowed within the building who will ask about Sofia, Bulgaria, and imply maybe imPorts aren't as patriotic as one would believe. Luckily for imPorts, they don't have to stand around conversing as they will be ushered in by unfamiliar faces.

The inside of the hall has been decorated in red, gold, and white. An enormous, glistening chandelier hangs in the middle of the hall, encircled by a second level of stairs that lead to a room being occupied above by these unfamiliar faces. They are not with the military and asking around will reveal they are Federal agents from Washington, D.C., here to act as security for the night. There are also rumors Captain Ananke was cut from the list of invites at the very last minute.

A large buffet table, packed with delicacies and other foods, is lined on the opposite end of the room, not too far from the mini-bar. The bartender is overseen by a Federal agent, so even if he wanted to offer those under 21 a drink, he wouldn't be able to.

The media have their own tables and representatives from Orlando's City Hall, including its mayor, are seated not too far from imPorts. He will take the time to approach imPort Ambassadors and congratulate them on their winning the elections in their representative city.

The tables take up most of the hall, including where the dance floor should be. At the end of the room a couple of Feds are setting up what looks to be a classic projection machine, only its design is sleeker and much more compact than the original device.

At 8 PM Secretary of Defense Lacey Chases finally makes her appearance, and her statement:

At 9:25 PM a wave of concern washes over the room and the slight panic as the Federal agents are suddenly on the move, patching into their communicators and asking for everybody to begin leaving the room in a calm and orderly fashion.

Heropa is under attack, they say. What will you do now, Heroes?

[After a quick assessment of the situation, Giorno decides the best choice for him is to go East. Trapped people can be easily rescued by someone who can transform their car doors into vines or a spray of butterflies and then grow vines they can climb to safety.

In fact, that's exactly what he's doing. So if you happen to catch him on the Bridge, expect him surrounded by fluttering insects and mystery foliage. It may be weird, but at least it's helpful.]

[ Problems when you're a Titan: well, not all Titans, but for Annie, speaking is difficult. So when trying to catch someone's attention, she has to be ... careful about her approach.

Which may be why she taps her finger politely in Giorno's vicinity to try and attract his attention. Butterfly and vines man, there's a tiny yapping dog problem she needs help with... ]

[...you know, it'd be helpful if anyone had told him Annie was a Titan. For a moment there, he just stands, brow vaguely furrowed, and then he decides it probably doesn't matter who this huge thing is, because if she wanted to attack him she would have.

So okay, he looks... up and up and up at her, investigating what it is she's trying to direct him to. A yapping dog is it?]

[ She's really not paraded that around past the one time in August, fortunately or otherwise. The dog is the vocal party here. Yapping furiously and darting out from under the car its hiding by and trying to leap up at the door.

Annie blinks her massive eyes, sliding them in the direction of the car with the dog... and the unconscious person in the front seat. ]

[Ah, caught that one. Giorno reaches up and gives Annie a thumbs up before floating over in the direction of the car... and the dog. In fact, let's just scoop that dog in Gold Experience's arms and then....]

[The car door collapses into a burst of butterflies and flies away. Always extravagant, that Giorno.]

[With his hands clear, thanks to GE having hoisted the dog, it's relatively easy to pull the car's passenger from the vehicle, although... they may not be thrilled about the lack of a door. Well, it's better than the alternative.]

[He looks up, the young woman inside draped over his shoulder, watching that. massive. person. Maybe he shouldn't be so distracted but he can't help thinking she seems familiar somehow?]

[ In the most vague way, she does; Annie's eyes are the same blue, and her hair is the same blonde. Her fighting style is similar... but she's not fighting now, and the build doesn't actually match to Annie Leonhart in human form. Too lanky, not compact enough, the wrong proportions. As a Titan, she's much more built for speed. At five feet tall as a human... she's not quite so gifted in the leg department, for one.

Ah, right. Communication is difficult. She tries to approximate something that people seem to associate with an appreciative gesture...

... So Giorno has a giant skinless humanoid giving him a thumbs up from off the side of the bridge, kind of looming still over everything. Joys of being over forty feet tall. ]

[Hey, nothing wrong with giant, skinless humanoids giving hum a thumbs up.

...actually, it's a little weird, and he's going to have to ask around a little and figure out who the hell that is later. Because she does remind him vaguely of someone, but not closely enough for him to puzzle out who, especially with so much else going on. For the moment, though, he just waves back with a little nod.

The woman is unconscious, though, so Giorno presses a finger to her chest and gives her a minor... shot of life energy. Enough to get her up and sputtering, at least.]

[ Probably just as weird to have the giant ostensibly watching him like she is, without getting closer, but Annie very much is. What detail she does or doesn't pick up is hard to say... his actions are deliberate. The response and reaction are easy to see from the woman's side.

Still, better not to give her a second anxiety attack on top of the rest. Annie shifts back, massive form moving away with far more grace and with far less apparent... mass... than she should have.

But it's to leave Giorno with the woman he's rescued, and her shivering, no longer yapping dog. GOOD WORK, FELLOW IMPORT. FEMALE TITAN OUT. ]

[He's never quite sure what to make of Giorno; would he come all this way to help? It would be in his Joestar blood to want to help people after all, despite the Brando influence, but which exactly wins out in situations like this...he can't ever be too sure. If he were less of a sociopath, he'd probably have an easier time of it.

But there he is, doing his best to assist. Dio isn't here to help naturally, but seeing Gio does give him a reason not to move on just yet. Dadpire's sat on the roof of a busted car nearby, legs crossed.

Sorry, still a complete tool.]

Giorno. [Sup.] I can't say I'm surprised you're here. Here to lend a hand?

[He gives the roof of the car he's sitting on two firm knocks, indicating he means the...carnage all around them. To Dio's credit, he's sitting on an empty car, not one full of trapped or dying people he decided to just torment by not helping.]

[Wow. Just... wow. Giorno blinks, momentarily distracted from wrapping a couple of children in viney safety straps. The moment passes quickly, and he sends them on their way before he answers.]

It seemed like the thing to do.

[And here you are, not doing it. He's not really surprised, he's not even disappointed. But there's a kind of a sigh type feeling fluttering across his face for a moment before he waves off the butterflies currently fluttering around his head.]

I won't claim that every life has value... but at the moment, it's impossible to judge which ones do and which ones do not. In that kind of circumstance... it's best to err on the side of mercy.

[Besides, Josuke and Jolyne would literally never shut up if he didn't help. And Jonathan would give him a sad face. No one wants that.]
