Exploring HeropaIrabi stood out. She could not help it. In her world, she would not be glanced at twice. But here, where humans so dominated the species and everything else was rarer than water in the desert, she could not walk without drawing stares and those strange phone devices being lifted to take pictures. She was lucky that when she was moving, and looking like she had somewhere to be, that most of the humans left her alone. But when she stopped to read something or inspect a shop window or a building, she would get onlookers stopping to talk to her. Some asked if she needed help. Some asked what her superhero name was. Some asked if they could touch her ears - hidden though they were by her hood, they still moved enough to know they were there. And some reached out and touched her tail without permission, causing her to wrap it around the front of her body and hold it close while hissing.
Hissing just got more of the phones coming out, a lot of laughs, and the humans acting like it was the best thing they'd ever seen.
So it was that she could not stay still for long, had to wander with her tail held in her hands, and was not in a very good mood for most of her time exploring.
She did manage to find a museum or two, a few art galleries, and a library! These venues, at least, offered her some peace. The humans tried to be much quieter when they approached her asking for pictures with her and to be nosy. And most of them didn't try to grab her tail.
It meant that when she did find something she wanted to learn more about, she felt just the slightest more comfortable padding over to the nearest person and asking, "Tell this one more about this, please?"
Shopping HeropaThe thing about being transported to a new world was that, in her experience, one usually only came with what one was holding or wearing at the time. In this case, her around-town clothing and jewelry that was fine enough to keep up appearances with Government officials and Kings, but not so fine as to mark her as a noble herself. Though she did tend to carry herself with the kind of air a handmaiden of a court might, it was not from experience as such. Or at least not that she had any memory of.
Still, at the moment, it was largely unhelpful because it was the only outfit she had. And that meant she was stuck wearing the same thing for days on end save for the few hours she had set aside to hide in the safety of a bedroom at her assigned housing while washing and drying the clothes.
And so, while she did have a larger interest in learning about the city and the world, she took a day off to find some new threads that would hold up to some wear and tear and accommodate her tail. ...not an easy task when the majority population had no tail to accommodate.
"But a tail hole could be put in, yes?" she asked insistently to the human behind the register as she fanned several skirts and a pair of pants out on the table before her. "Your tailors can do such, can they not?"
It was a clothing store, surely they had tailors on premises?
