WHO: Bruce Wayne/Batman & YOU???
WHERE: Mostly De Chima and Wayne Manor
WHEN: May 7th
WHAT: A day in the life of Batman catch-all
WARNINGS: None, but will update as necessary
4:00 am: Morning Exercise
[Bruce starts his morning the way he always does, by waking up bright and early after whatever sleep he may or may not have had the night before and going out for an easy, casual, 30 mile run. As dawn starts to approach, the air is moist and dewey and the world is still quiet. He slips on a loose pair of running pants and a worn sweatshirt, grabs a bottle of protein shake, and heads for one of De Chima's few but large parks...]
9:00 am: Wayne Enterprises
[After his run and shower, he slips on one of his expertly bespoken suits and makes for the office. He spends most of the morning and into mid-afternoon in meetings, following up on business deals in progress and planning for the month ahead, as well as stopping into various departments to speak with managers and employees who may or may not be looking to catch his ear. There are a few employees in particular with whom he means to stop and speak with as well, which he makes a priority of...]
5:00 am: Evening
[Bruce leaves work early today, intending on catching up back at home on his study of the imPocreats. The past month, and being trapped in Kavinsky's dream world, left him refreshed if not behind on most of the things he had been intending to work on. For those who have access to the cave, they'll find him in his costume, sans cape, working around the cave, with a notable difference being the presence of a few creatures of varying size stored in their own separate areas throughout the lab.]
12:00 am: Late night patrol:
[Finally, he makes it out late at night to patrol the streets, perhaps a little later than he usually intends. Things are quieter than normal, which he finds satisfactory, but certainly not enough to get lazy. He leaps across the rooftops, making sure to check every dark corner and suspicious movement that catches his eye.]
WILDCARD!:
[Nothing here catching your eye? Still want to say hi to Bruce and/or Batman? HIT ME UP WITH LITERALLY ANYTHING.]

They might have been content to sit there all night if not for Batman poking his nose into their dark corner.]
Oh...s'you. D'you ever take a break?
[They don't sound particularly annoyed; maybe a little disappointed over the intrusion, but determined to be polite.]

But to avoid him would be cowardly, especially when he was underwriting the apartment she'd shared with Nico. That's how she found herself headed to his cave one evening with takeout from the Italian place that Nico had liked so much. If the dream had gotten to him too, he was probably living off those sad, featureless sandwiches. Alternately, if he'd also tired of her company, she figured the cartons of pasta would suitably dramatic when thrown to the ground. This had all been thought through carefully.
But, she reminds herself, as she looks at the animals, that was all a contingency plan. Plan A is just to pretend like everything is normal and nothing needs to be addressed. When she does see him, she's only putting on her normal attitude. ]

He wasn't in his office, and it wasn't until she was on her way back to her desk that she spotted him coming back.]
Hi, Bruce.
[He preferred to be called that to Mr. Wayne, at least that's what he has told her in the past.]

It was Batman's fault. He breathes deeply through his nose and continues writing his thoughts on paper. It wasn't painful to work to this routine, but it was dull, and he felt it inside his skull. His nerves were raw and he almost had no choice but to take revenge on someone to make them settle.
His voice is snappish for the next person to knock on his door.]
Come in.

She keeps to the shadows and the alleyways, not the main street; Laurel had no wish to attract too much attention to herself.
Everything seemed quiet at the moment but that could always change.]
no subject
Get a new job, David. [He tucks the dealer's wallet into his coat pocket.] I'll be keeping an eye out for you.
[It wasn't the most glorious job he's ever done, but that was the goal, right? De Chima had been relatively quiet, and he hoped it was due to the efforts of him and the others who patrolled the city. He notices Laurel as he watches his catch scurry away and turns towards her, all shadows and frown.]

at some point, during a quiet pause in the night's low thrum of noise, a rat runs out from between two bins in an alley. it stops, sniffs at the food it had run to in the middle of the street, then... shrieks.
a giant bat - 6ft tall - flying on four wings swoops down out of the sky and grabs it.
then someone laughs and claps.]
Oiiii! What did I say, Crobat? Huh? Rats don't eat donuts, I bet ya feel real stupid about now!
[flapping up in the air for a moment, the giant bat lands on the ground with a loud WHUMP, chittering. possibly in annoyance.]

Still, he's not exactly comfortable going alone so he brings Ace along, figuring the mutt would love being in the cave again. A thought proven correct the second the Great Dane enters the cave proper, prancing around at the familiarity with an excitement the dog rarely showed. He sets off to explore his new/old surroundings, nose to the ground and tail in the air.
Rather than go over to Bruce, Terry instead walks over to one of the imPocreat areas and peers inside.]
And how's Myrna today?
[Terry's named all of the imPocreat pieces they found in Liechtenstein, mostly to mess with Bruce.]

There’s an art dealer based out of one of a legion of imposing office buildings staggered downtown. Where twenty minutes ago, the roof was all clear, now there’s a wiry figure in a cowboy hat and all black packing a suspiciously painting-shaped parcel away in postal wrap.
It isn’t an especially massive painting-shaped package -- no taller than a few feet, with the butt of it planted in gravel and the topmost edge still in the process of being taped under.
No alarms have been tripped -- no flashing lights, no sirens, no silent call for the police.
Just a man, a package and a roll of tape. ]

Some nights she'd found herself still in the lab at two in the morning because she knew she was close to something.]
Be careful with that! I don't have a replacement, and I can't make one with this worlds technology!
