This is not religion, but common sense
WHO: Inanna and a figure skater or two
WHERE: Heropa 017
WHEN: May 3rd
WHAT: Time to talk about some issues. Most of them are Inanna's.All of them are.
WARNINGS: Discussions of death, murder, emotional manipulation and abuse, arguments about whether UK or US age restrictions for drinking apply probably, WicDiv spoilers throughout, also sexy makeouts between adults
[Inanna had promised to come over to visit Viktor earlier in the day, but it was hours later before they actually sparkled down on the skater's front porch and rapped on the door. They're looking much less cheerful than usual—weary in fact. The sort of disposition that one might expect to see on an office worker after a long, difficult day during the peak season. There's a dull look to their smile; it doesn't quite reach their eyes.
They did, however, have the foresight to pick up another bottle of vodka and some different fruity mixers to use with it before arriving. After dealing with Woden's arrival, even Inanna was going to need a little pick-me-up.]

Before Goddesses come knocking ...
Curiously, there's a laptop near him, currently turned off, that looks like it was shoved away from him haphazardly onto the cushions. On the low table in front of him are the bottles of hard vodka as well as raspberry liqueur he brought back from his date with Inanna the other night. Most of them are pretty close to empty by now, but Viktor's flushed face and slurred, accent-heavy words are probably a better indication of just how much he's had so far.
His head lolls to the side as he sees Yuuri, but the smile he gives him not quite as jovial as his usual drunken antics. ]
Yuuuuuuriiii~ Come drink with me~

What the hell is Viktor doing super drunk in the middle of the day?? ]
It's - it's like two in the afternoon! Why are you so drunk already!?
no subject
[ A beat. Viktor tilts his head and blinks. ]
Ah, that's not the right word ...
no subject
[ It's the only similar word coming to mind, anyway.
no subject
[ He says with a grin, taking another big drink of vodka. ]

Because Inanna happened.

Viktor, talk to me ...

They were human once. Or still are? Not sure how that works ...
no subject
Before becoming a goddess, you mean?

And then they— Before coming here, they were—
[ Viktor's voice raises in pitch, the arm around Yuuri's waist almost bruising with how tight he holds him. ]
no subject
They were what?
no subject
[ ... Oops, that came out in Russian. ]
no subject
What? I didn't understand hat.
no subject
They died, Yuuri!
no subject
H-here? Back home?

[ Viktor slumps again, bowing forward so the top of his head rests against Yuuri's chest, the hand not holding his drink clutching at Yuuri's shirt. ]
But if they go back—if they're ported out, then that means they—
[ His throat tightens again, unable to follow that thought to its conclusion. ]
no subject
But they're here. That's the most important part. They're here.
no subject
They said they'd come here too, before I was told they were human before. How old does that make them? Too young, much too young to have died already ...
no subject
[ Would that even help? Probably not, but ... ]

[ The hand holding his drink raises in a vague salute-like gesture. ]
