If We Could Run Away [Closed]
WHO: Chloe Price, The Doctor, Clara Oswald, John Constantine, Jonathan Crane, Peter Parker, and Link
WHERE: Various places around Heropa.
WHEN: April 15-17.
WHAT: Max hangs around with various friends she's made.
WARNINGS: None so far!
[Max smiled to herself as she got her gear together. Camera? Check. Film? Double and triple-check. Water bottle? Also check. And, of course, various bits and bobs such as her keys, cell phone, wallet, and a handheld gaming system. She'd been busy with work and her college studies, but she still tried to make time for her friends and loved ones. They deserved it. And anyway, it wasn't like she didn't like spending time with them.
Quite the opposite, in fact.]

Chloe
But tonight was different. Tonight was Quality Girlfriend Time (TM), and Max was determined to make the most of it.]
The Doctor
She hummed to herself a little as she practically skipped in, waving to the owners as she was ushered to their usual booth in order to wait for what was totally not her Space Grandad.
Just saying.]

So! Who's ready for dinner and talking?
no subject
[Max grins back at the Doctor, happy to see him.]
Nice shades. Are they sonic, too?
no subject
[ That's not how the weather works and the Doctor knows that's not how the weather works, but who cares about things like that when it's time for gentle bitching. ]
no subject
[And she misses it. She misses her parents, and her friends Kate and Warren. She's grateful for the people she has here, though... especially Chloe.]
no subject
[ Who has two thumbs and still has a shaky grasp of American geography, hint, this guy. ]

It's actually the rainy one below the one up in the corner. But you almost had it!

[Insert gold star here.]
Well, you can always come and visit me, you know. [They could have burgers and movie nights at home!]

Who knows if we'll even be in the same universe once we're both shunted home. I'll certainly keep a look out for everybody, but it might be a losing battle.

Clara Oswald
Now she just had to wait for her theatre buddy to show up.]
no subject
[Clara greets her with a quick hug and a sunny smile. It's been so long since they got to just hang out, and what with the recent events, a night out in the city is just what she needs.
Looking up at the posters, she gives a giddy little laugh.]
Wish I could pop back and show this to old Ben. He would have been thrilled.
no subject
You knew Ben Franklin? What was he like?
John Constantine
And, of course, his smirk. It just wouldn't be John Constantine without the smirk (or the trenchcoat, or the ill-fitting tie).]
Link
Pushing those thoughts from her mind (and how would they help here, or now?), she leaned forward, snapping a photo of a rosebush.
That would be a good one.]
no subject
...That's pretty cool, Max.
[Once she's finished snapping shots, he motions towards her camera with his finger. It's still kind of unusual to him.]
no subject
[Max smiles as she turns towards him, an easy flick of her wrist shaking her newest photo.]
I'm guessing your cameras aren't like this?
no subject
[He cocks his head, watching her shake out the photo. Why is she doing that? Is this some kind of techno-sorcery? He watches quizzically, mouthing the word "weird" without realizing it.]
no subject
[Maybe they just have another word for it. She notices him watching her, and smiles.]
It's how you develop this kind of film. First, you take a picture, then you shake it out so the picture shows up properly.
[And here, she demonstrates, turning so that Link can watch.]

Oh, yeah, my slate is the only one that exists back home. It's an ancient technology. [He points to it, a thick, brown tablet that looks like it's made of rock. It has an ever so faint glow of blue in the pattern of an eye. Then lifting it up to show it off, it has a screen like any modern phone or tablet you would find people using around Heropa.]
It's the only device that can capture pictures in the same way that you can here. I hadn't actually known to refer to it as a "camera" until I got here...
...Hopefully I can purchase one eventually. A real camera.
no subject
Wowser. That's pretty neat! How does it work?
[At this, Max digs around in her bag and pulls out a disposable camera, one of the ones she carries around for her photojournalism classes. She offers it to Link.]
Here! I got this for my class, but I have a whole bunch of others. You can have it.
no subject
I'll show you...in a...sec...[Sidetracked now by the fact that she's pulling something out of her bag to hand to him.
"You got a Disposable Camera!"
He holds it delicately in his hands, looking at it wondrously.]
This looks amazing! [Gringringrin.] Thank you so much, Max!
no subject
You're welcome. It's not exactly a high quality camera, but it's good to start with.
no subject
Ah, hey! I took a picture with a real camera...[He's very impressed with himself for a moment, but then holds it up to the light and examines it carefully.]
...Nothing's coming out, though.
