WHEN: During the Dream Log Event! After Sarah wakes up.
WHAT: Jess checks in on Sarissa, only to find her sister watching over the Sleeping Beauty.
WARNINGS: None yet. Will update if necessary.

[ several weeks have passed since jessica has spoken with sarissa, and their last conversation didn't exactly end on the best terms. the other woman didn't do anything wrong, of course she hasn't, but jess can't help but push her away. it's easier to be alone. safer, for everyone involved.

however, all bets are off when the whole world goes to hell. jessica jones is no hero. she never has been, and truth be told, never will be, but that won't stop her from trying. she does what she can — rushes others to the hospital, tracks down any clues she can find, and there's rarely a moment to pause. that is, until she recalls with painful clarity someone she's declined to check in on — sarissa. she's a magnet for crapass luck. how is she faring during all of this chaos?

the question leads her to sarissa's home, knocking loudly on the front door. no reply. after a beat, she starts calling out for her. ]

Shit. Sarissa? Hey, open up!

[ whoever is in the house only has a few more seconds until jessica forces her way in. her hand is already clenched around the knob, prepared to break open the lock. ]

[ Sarah's been up for a while, but her body is still suffering from the effects of too much sleep, too many dreams. It takes her longer than usual to move when she hears someone at the front door, and her steps are heavy and slow on the stairs. ] Oi, who— [ she starts, but it's too late, and the person out on the front step is already busting open the lock and forcing their way inside. Great. Awesome. Fix the stairs, now the door's broken. ]

Are you serious?

[hardedged]

[ actual human wrecking ball, jessica jones steps in after breaking off the lock on the door. she stands there, gaze widening when she witnesses the other woman approach. not the sister she was hoping to see, but not an unpleasant surprise either. ]

Uh, Sarah. [ awk...ward... ] Hi.

[coppelganger]

Hi. What the hell are you doing?

[ Not the most polite greeting, but then, Jessica's the one standing there in Sarah's front room with the front door lock broken off. ]

[hardedged]

[ fair enough. jess can't exactly blame her for the lukewarm greeting. ]

Was in the neighborhood.

[ sarcastic as always. following sarah's eyes, she glances back at the broken door, then offers an apologetic look. ]

Sorry. [ a pause. ] Is Sarissa here?

[coppelganger]

She's upstairs. Asleep.

[ She assumes Jessica will understand what that means. ]

[hardedged]

[ her brow furrows in alarm. ]

Shit.

[ goddammit, she can't say she's surprised. the only person who has worse luck than jessica jones is sarissa theron. she swallows hard, then takes a breath. ]

Can I see her?

[coppelganger]

Uh... yeah, sure. It's not gonna do any good, though, you get that, yeah?

[ They should probably stop meeting like this, while Sarissa is either unconscious or dead. That would probably make things way less awkward. Sarah motions for Jess to follow her upstairs, to where Sarissa is sleeping in one of the bedrooms. ]

[ they really should. not the best way to leave a good first impression. jess is fairly certain that breaking her front door didn't help matters either. she follows upstairs, glancing down at sarissa's resting form. ]

Goddammit. [ a few more seconds before she shifts her gaze to sarah. ] How long has she been like this?

[coppelganger]

[ Sarah has to think about it. She only recently woke up herself, and everything from earlier in the month seems more like a dream than the actual dreams she'd had. In fact, looking at Sarissa now still makes her feel slightly sick. ]

Jesus, like... nearly ten days now? I dunno. Been giving her water and broth and that, when she's awake enough, but she never really wakes up for real.
