- [ Getting fired from her part-time job had been mildly unpleasant, but her employer seemed apologetic enough in letting a "good imPort kid" go, and so Sasha had been given a small stack of coupons for the restaurant which apparently allows anyone with them to get a discount on various meals. She's not sure she needs the money when her housing is paid for and there's always food in the fridge, but she hasn't taken the time to look for another job yet.
Instead, now that she's got some time to kill before this so called "summer school", Sasha takes to the town, looking for some kind of open space to practice her new found powers. Her file had listed limited flight ― whatever that means; she can only presume it's similar to 3DMG, her only basis for comparison.
The problem, she finds, is getting this power to work. She has her 3DMG equipment on her today just in case, though she doesn't put it to use as she charges up the mostly empty lot, toward a large garbage bin. As she approaches the bin, she's able to leverage herself up and use the metal bin as a springboard, her form lifting into the air. ]
Come oonnnnn ― oh! You've got to be kidding meeeee!
[ Gravity's always hauling her down hard and fast. Sasha loses her posture for a moment before she quickly grabs hold of the handles of her 3DMG and presses down, the hooks bursting from their holsters and sinking deep into the building behind her. It's a messy maneuver overall, but at least it stops her from hitting the closest passerby.
She hangs upside down, grinning nervously. ]
So sorry!

...This is a life decision he'll come to regret as the hooks shoot out, and he has to very suddenly duck to keep from getting an eye poked out.]
--D'ah!!
[In the attempt to prevent being accidentally stabbed in the face, of course, he trips on some loose gravel and turns out to be the one having a lovely rendezvous with the ground. Upside-Down Sasha, meet Flat-On-His-Ass Kotetsu. He's staring up at her from his sprawled position on the ground, meeting her nervous grin with a lopsided one of his own.]
...Y'alright?

She bounces up and down a few inches before settling in place, the sheepish grin still plastered across her face. There's some relief that settles into her form though, glad it appears she didn't strike this man. ]
I'm fine! I'm sorry! [ A nervous laugh, but then quickly she adds: ] Are you okay, sir?
[ In a simple maneuver, Sasha hangs steadily now the right way up, ponytail falling behind her and the rest of her hair away from her face so she can get a proper look at Kotetsu and vice-versa. She dislodges the hooks from the building and the cable wires pull back into her gear with a loud snap. With both feet planted on the sidewalk, she moves closer to Kotetsu to give him a hand. ]

[He waves off her concern with a hand, which looks rather awkward considering he's doing it from the ground, so he's gonna. Carefully pick himself back up into a sitting position to regard his new upside-down acquaintance.
...Or, not-so-upside-down anymore. Kotetsu peers a little at the gear as the hooks dislodge from the wall and she gives him a hand, which he accepts, though he tries to avoid letting her take most of his weight as he gets up. It reminds him a little of his grapple-watch that he used to have at home, though it's clearly more complicated.]
So hey, what were you doing, exactly?
[You don't see a girl falling from a dumpster every day, after all.]

She continues to look on apologetically, her smile a touch forced but cordial enough to convey she's genuinely sorry for startling someone older than her. ]
What was I doing? [ She glances back at the dumpster she leaped off of and the space bbetween there and where she stands on the sidewalk now. She's disappointed. ] Trying to fly! It's supposed to be my power, but it's not working? Maybe there's some kind of secret to these superpowers!

Christ, it's a good thing she jumped off a dumpster and not a building or something. That seems like a recipe for disaster. How the hell does the government not have some kind of mandatory powers training program for this kind of thing??? It's not like back home, where it's impossible to know whether or not someone will manifest NEXT abilities at some point in their life. Somebody is gonna get hurt one of these days from the porter's bullshit and it pisses him off.]
...Maybe you oughta find somewhere, uhh....softer, to practice...
no subject
Kotetsu's comment earns a bit of a perplexed look and Sasha's gaze drifts again, surveying their surroundings as if getting a good look for the first time. An index finger reaches the side of her cheek, scratching lightly at the skin. ]
Softer?
[ Maybe, but it's not as if she's unaccustomed to hitting solid ground. Besides, it isn't as they laid out cushions for them back during training. Eren knows that all too well. ]
It's fine, really! I have my 3DMG, so I can break my fall, sir.

Still!! You oughta be more careful, or you could get hurt.

[ She pats the gear on either side of her hips and then points to the building where the grappling hooks had dug into. They're deep enough holes indicating her lines are quite secure in spite of their appearance. She wonders if it's difficult to explain visually when 3DMG requires actual usage for the user to realize they're a lot safer than people believe them to be. ]
I'm good with my 3DMG. [ She's not bragging, it's just honest. She had pulled off Samuel's rescue, as dangerous a maneuver it was. ] But... I'll be more cautious.
no subject
[Kotetsu T. Kaburagi praising the virtues of caution: the world truly must have gone mad.]
It'd be like, extra protection!! 'Cause you'd have the 3D thingy and a soft place to land just in case.
no subject
[ And she's actually embarrassed somebody witnessed her failing to make the liftoff. Why is this so much harder than she thought? They should have given instructions on these superpowers! ]

[HAVE A HEADPAT, SASHA. And an enthusiastic fistpump, don't you feel so encouraged.]
I had a hard time with my powers too, when I was a kid! You'll totally get the hang of 'em soon. Just remember, they're a part of you, a'right? You're the one that controls the power, not the other way 'round.
