~Date Night~

Other "Date"
He's a few minutes late arriving though, waving at Inanna as he approaches them. ]
Sorry, Makkachin was being overly enthusiastic about his walk today. Have you been waiting long?

Their attention snaps right to Viktor when he waves though, and a bright grin takes over their face.]
No, not at all! Not that I'd mind waiting for you, of course.

[ The anxiety of what he was about to do was clawing at his mind, pulling and tugging at emotions he long ago thought he was incapable of feeling. He hadn't slept the night before -- not that he needed to sleep, given he was practically passed out for two weeks -- instead trying to work out what he was going to say, only to have a million disaster scenarios rip his careful practice to shreds. There was no doubt in his mind that Viktor was going to walk away from him after this; was going to tell him for real that he never wanted to see him again. He knew he needed to be mentally prepared for that, but nothing he could think of would help... but at the same time? He couldn't not do this. ]
[ He had spent that dream living a double life, to a greater extreme than he was in reality. The consequences of that had been dire, and not only lead to his "death," but also put the people he interacted with in extreme danger. How the hell could he keep up that life? ]
[ Eventually he'd tell everyone; it was something worth being transparent about, considering his occupation, but Viktor had the right to know first, considering how he felt about him. ]
[ He was at their usual meeting place for working out for awhile before Viktor normally showed up, wearing his usual sweats, but he had a feeling he wasn't going to be making use of them. This was not going to be a productive morning as far as working out was concerned. He was leaning against a building when Viktor did show, his head still bowed and trying desperately to mentally prepare himself. ]
no subject
He's up at his normal time despite the lack of restful sleep though, his natural inclination to early mornings and years of training schedules programming his body even if he did want to sleep in. He also had much of the same mind as Adachi, wearing sweats but not anticipating that they'll get the full use of them as they have been under other, less stressful conditions.
He greets Adachi with a smile as he approaches their typical meeting spot, though it's not as bright as other mornings. ]
Tohru, good morning.
no subject
[ Adachi still didn't look up at him; he was afraid to, and he was surprised he managed to get out that much of a greeting. His heart was pounding, that same kind of pounding he felt when he was surrounded by Dojima's brat and his little Investigation Team, the reality of his crimes unraveled between them in front of Dojima himself. Back then he had been able to run away and jump into a TV, but there were no TVs around, and they wouldn't work anyway. ]
[ He forced himself to take a deep breath, though he still couldn't bring himself to look at Viktor. ]
...please accept my apologies for yesterday. When I saw Plisetsky-kun in the same post with the name of a man I've been investigating for almost a year, I panicked.
[ He almost flinched; it was always easy to tell when the guilt was setting in. It happened when Nanako had nearly died too, slipping into overly formal speech. He seriously felt like history was repeating itself, and it was doing nothing to help the unsettled feeling in his gut. ]
I have put in a few inquiries in the government, but I don't anticipate them leading anywhere.

[ Getting some skating time in after their conversation had done little to ease the tension he was feeling over the inevitable conversation. He felt weirdly disconnected -- not in a bad way, but it was enough of a discerning feeling that he hadn't been able to concentrate, and most of his practice had him landing on the ice the hard way more often than not. By the time Viktor texted him, he was sporting a cut on his forehead that was already starting to bruise around the bandage he had slapped on it, and by the time he arrived at their door, he probably looked like even more of a miserable sight than he usually was. ]
[ He took a deep breath as he stood there at the door... and then another... and another, and there was a part of him that wanted to say screw this and run for it as fast as he could. If he wasn't so sure that Viktor would be less understanding and entirely disappointed if he did that, he just might have. He shook his head, muttering under his breath: ]
C'mon, Adachi; it's not like they're going to start spouting fire at you...
[ ...maybe ice though. ]
[ He grumbled at the stray thought, finally snapping his hand up and knocking quickly before his nerves could get the better of him again. ]
no subject
Rather than interrupting Adachi's time on the rink, he flops down onto the couch to wait for the others to wake up, cuddling with Makkachin quietly. Once the meet time is decided and he texts Adachi, he resumes sitting on the couch, not even working on his other couch things he can do at home. (Probably freaking the other two out by being so still and quiet, oops.)
He's the first one up to answer the door since he's the closest, offering a light smile while managing to also look a bit tired. ]
Tohru, come in ...
no subject
Thank you very much for the invitation...
[ There he went, being overly formal again. At least it was easy to tell he was taking this seriously. He made a face at himself, before slipping inside. ]

He has, however, left the door to his room ajar. Just in case there was a chance of overhearing the other two skaters talk about him downstairs. He is still a bratty teenager, after all.]
no subject
After about half an hour passes, Yuri will be able to hear the tell-tale sound of footsteps up the stairs. They stop just outside his door, and after a beat or three, there's a light knocking on the slightly open door. ]
