March Open!
WHO: Charles Xavier
excessivehubris & Open
WHERE: Nonah & De Chima
WHEN: Later half of March onwards
WHAT: Open Log, various prompts
WARNINGS: Nah but will update if necessary!
A - A small tea cafe in Nonah
[ Charles had been traveling, extensively over the past couple of months. He was Registered and in good standing with the government, careful to file his paperwork about where he was going and for how long, so he was absent for extended periods. It wasn't until mid-March that he finally returned home long enough to actually be home.
Luckily Erik was about or who knew what the heck might be growing in the refrigerator these days.
Still there were small chores that needed to be seen too. The minute of day to day life and Charles had taken a day off from going in to the Foundation in order to see to some of his affairs.
While out and about, to treat himself, he stopped by a small tea cafe that was one of his favorite native businesses to patron. Though still a little brisk when the wind kicked up, the day was nice enough that he parked himself outside on the recently opened patio, taking advantage of the sun and the portable heaters the cafe had set up.
Sitting with a pot of tea, a plate of scones (yes he was a cliche but they really did make amazing scones here) he had a note book open in which he was jotting down thoughts. However, this in no way prevented him from being easy to disturb. ]
B - The Maria-Francis Foundation in De Chima
[ The Foundation was thriving. Shrewd investments with the bit of capital the Foundation had at the beginning of October last year combined with Charles hitting his stride in charming donations out of the appropriate folks had the Foundation in fairly good order.
The bad news, was it was also becoming more and more of an administrative monster.
Though he had kept on top of things the best he could while off on his travels there still seemed to be an excessive amount of paperwork waiting for him upon his return. It called for long days and quite a few late nights at the Foundation as he unwound it all.
It was possible to catch him with his head tilted back, rubbing his eyes with his fingers while muttering. ]
I need to get an assistant.
[ It was also quite as possible to catch him down in the small kitchenette fixing himself some tea or maybe a sandwich. It could just depend upon where you looking for him. ]
C - Wildcard!
[OOC: Want to do something that doesn't fall under one of these prompts? Feel free to throw it at me and we'll see where it goes. ]

B - hey you ;)
Hey, Charles. Thought I'd drop in to say hello; is this an okay time?
[ He shifts his stance, slightly self-conscious. It's not that he hasn't tried to stay in touch with Charles, after everything, but even putting the wisdom of small, green space muppets aside, "try" and "do" are not the same thing. ]
Hey there!!!! :D
The rap of shave and a hair cut saw the telepath's head lift and turn quick, from where he was drowning a teabag, and a wide, welcoming smile split across his features. ]
Peter! [ He called out, genuinely pleased to see the younger man. He dropped the bag into the water and neatly looped the tie around the mug, leaving it to steep as he reached down and grabbed the wheels of his chair, turning and rolling towards Peter. ] Now is a perfect time, please come in, how are you?
[ As he spoke, he stopped the chair and leaned forward with his hand extended. ]

I'm sorry I haven't been around like I said I would be. [ He sucks his teeth. ] I meant to, but I kept... [ He looks around the kitchenette, and back to Charles. ] Putting it off, I guess.

Sitting back, he let the younger man work his way through what he wanted to say, his smile gentle. In truth, he could understand why Peter had taken time to gather himself after everything that had happened. In a lot of ways, as bad as it had been for Charles, the professor suspected it had been infinitely worse for Parker.
He simply shook his head, waving off the explanation. ]
It only matters that you've arrived now. To be quite honest I've been in and out of the country quite a bit myself. [ He had been genuinely focused on his work, but the constant travel hadn't been completely without an element of avoidance in and of itself. ]
Let me get my tea and we'll go back to my office. It's more comfortable for talking.
no subject
Peter smirks at him, leaning against a convenient cabinet to wait for the tea with ankles casually crossed. ]
Don't rush on my account. Where've you been traveling? I haven't gone anywhere since the first time I got Ported into this universe...three years ago. Wow, I missed the anniversary. Both of them.
[ He snorts. ] I can't believe I have two different anniversaries commemorating the two semi-separate occasions I got kidnapped into an alternate universe by a rogue AI, but there you have it.
no subject
Carry this for me? I have no interest in dumping it all over my lap.
[ He looks so earnest when he makes this request. Provided Peter will take the tea, Charles will set his hands to the wheels of his chair and begin to lead them back to his office at the end of the hall. Talking as he rolls along. ]
Internationally mainly. I've been meeting with people, working on securing the Foundation's financial security and also meeting with government diplomats, trying to get some red tape sorted out.
[ The office, as they rolled into it, was comfortably appointed, with a large desk, a couple cozy arm chairs and a small couch. Charles motioned for Peter to make himself comfortable on a chair or the couch, maneuvering his own chair to join the seating arrangement rather than sit behind the desk. ]
Two anniversaries? [ Charles repeated, looking genuinely bemused for a moment as he would reach for his tea (again, assuming Peter had carried it) ] That is something you share with Tony, isn't it?
