[Novi is nothing like any bakery that Alfie has ever been to, even in this future world - but he keeps hearing good things about it, and so eventually, he decides to stop by and give it a try. He comes in dressed in his usual garb - black coat, black hat, wooden cane - and peruses the menus and signboards a bit before heading to the counter to order.]

Right - I'll have a quarter pound of syrniki and some khvorost, please.

[He has a heavy London accent when speaking English, but he pronounces the Russian words easily and correctly.]

Hi, good afternoon. [Or is it still morning? She hasn't looked at a clock in at least a couple of hours, so hell if she knows. Anyway, she offers a smile in greeting as well.] Sure. [She then rings up the total on the cash register.

Even though there are gloves and sheets of napkin or parchment paper to use to pick up the items without coming in direct contact with them to keep the food even cleaner, she lets red wisps of telekinetic energy fly from her fingertips to put the requested items in separate bags, not even needing to handle the food at all with her hands. Why this way, with her abilities? It's faster to do it this way for multiple items. Sure, sometimes it gets some curious looks, probably because not a whole lot of people who even have telekinesis have theirs come with some wispy looking red things. Which is a huge downside for her when she needs or wants an element of surprise in her powers.]

[It's definitely getting some curious looks from Alfie. Sure, he's more used to powers than he was when he first arrived, but they're still strange to him - even his own. And this here isn't something he's seen before.

When she brings the bags over, he asks:]

Moving things with your mind?

[divaricate]

[She nods, confirming that question.] Telekinetic, yeah. Something I -- obtained -- before I was first ported into this universe. It's been with me for.. [A half second to think.] ... three years, counting the time I've spent here. Give or take a few months.

How did you come to have it, if you weren't born with it but weren't given it here?

[divaricate]

Would you believe it if I said exposure to an alien object? [She expects that answer to be "no". but. It's true.]

[devoutish]

Here? Yeah, sure.

[If he were at home and someone fed him that story, he'd say they were crazy. But here? It's just another Tuesday.]

I don't feel quite as bad, then. I still feel like it can be kind of a weird explanation to give, so... [Despite the fact that, yes, there is certainly weirder in this world.]

[Instead of taking his bags and leaving, he sits, taking out the khvorost.]
