[CLOSED] right from the start you were the thief who stole my heart
WHO: Raina and Frederick Chilton
WHERE: A very romantic cabin in the woods near Maurtia Falls
WHEN: Valentine's Day
WHAT: Chilton and Raina finally make up!
WARNINGS: Forced sedation, torture, bloodplay, romance.
[ Raina had spent the entire morning of Valentine's Day depressed. And then as she passed the commercials and couples and sales on flowers and candy in the windows, it just started to fill her with anger. How could Chilton treat her like this? And more importantly, how could she have let him? Raina had always prided herself on never being anyone's victim. And for the tears she shed, for the fact that she was spending Valentine's Day alone -- well, Chilton had to pay, didn't he?
And so, Raina had texted him. She texted him and told him she was finally ready to make up. She told him she would pick him up from work and they could go someplace romantic she had booked for the evening. Those were the things she told him. And Raina got all dolled up for the occasion, wearing a silk cocktail dress with flower lace and twisting her hair up, securing it with white roses.
When he got to the car, Raina looked over at him with nothing short of adoration. And then, she climbed over the console to straddle his lap, leaning in to kiss him hungrily -- tasting him as though she had been starving for days. (20 days in counting, actually.) Raina was all heat and desire as she took her lips off of his long enough to murmur. ]
God, I've missed you.
[ One hand reaching out to put his hand on her bare thigh as the other casually opened the console to snake its way around the prepared syringe. ]

[In most other breeds of context, that sentence would have inevitably been addressed as an insult; but Chilton possessed a higher purpose in mind. Gingerly, reluctantly, as the blade pressed against his skin, Chilton twisted his spine just a few degrees to allow an unfettered hand slip into his trousers pocket, his fingers splayed and desperate.]
Raina. [Said Chilton, flecks of blood peppering his lips. His chest still bled and he blinked back agonized tears.] Will you do me the honor --
[His hand grasped a small black and velvet box from his pocket.]
Of agreeing to become engaged with me? Matrimonially?
[Stilted, pretentious, unsure -- but it was commitment. Stark and unbridled commitment. Chilton flicked over the box's hinged top after a struggle -- his thumb was slick with his own blood. The ring nearly dropped from its wedge, he managed to press it back just in time before it clattered to the floor.
Blood stained the bright diamond.]
There is no one I adore more than you, and I am proving that. Just as I said I would.

All of this time, he had intended to propose -- and she spent a good hour torturing him first.
Her eyes flooded with both an odd mix of guilty and happy tears. And she brought her hands up to cover her mouth to contain that mixed emotion. For a little while after Chilton asked, Raina couldn't say anything. And when she finally found the ability to speak, it was accompanied by a slap to his shoulder. A few repeated slaps to his shoulder. ]
You had this planned the whole time and you let me....keep hurting you. Oh, Frederick. [ Low and moaning with guilt. ] Oh, Frederick.
[ Her tears spilled freely now, deep unrelenting despair winning over her violence and she pressed her hand so apologetically to the blood stained chest. Emotion gripped her with such fierce intensity, she couldn't even say yes to the thing she had wanted for nearly a year.
So she managed to look him in the eye -- and with a soft sob, she nodded. Yes, yes...a hundred times yes. ]

With every slap to his shoulder, his wound ached more and his concern deepened. Had he done something wrong? Chilton glanced at the offered engagement rings. Was it incorrect? Had he not provided enough blood for her altar? He feared another bout of sacrilege.
But then she was nodding, fervently, and he understood her prior aggression to be nothing more than an expression of happiness.]
So that is a yes?
[Confirmation and consent. It was so vital in their vibrant relationship.]
Do you -- should I put the ring on?
[Nervously inquired, as he fumbled for the ring again. Chilton had never done this before, had never thought he would -- his maneuvering proved sophomoric at best. Doubt and heated self-consciousness prickled at his skin as he offered the ring to her, pinching it between two fingers, his eyes frantically scanning her face for clues.]

She offered her hand to him, the wrong hand at first. And then she offered the other one because she, too, was clumsy in her acceptance. Oh, as a little girl with big dreams she had fantasized about the day she would find a handsome man to marry. But as life went on, she saw that for what it was -- only a dream that would never happen.
Even all of her harping on Chilton for this moment -- somehow she never expected to get here physically. She had just wanted Chilton there emotionally.
As the ring did maneuver its way onto her hand with bloodied fingers staining her skin, she looked down at it with a tearful smile and a little laugh. ]
It's beautiful. The most incredible piece of jewelry you've ever bought for me.
[ Her palms went to his cheeks and she kissed him, grateful and full of loving adoration. Pulling back with a sniffle and a quick swipe of her cheeks to clear the tears away, Raina slowly climbed off of Chilton. ]
Let me get you a local anesthetic so I can stitch you up. It shouldn't... [ Her words faltered some, softened and mumbled with shame. ] ...it shouldn't leave too much of a scar if we take care of it properly.

[The reality of his circumstance filtered through the haze of adoration and physical trauma. He looked downwards again, paling at the mutilated skin on his chest, whimpering at the sight. Cut flesh, drooled blood. Skin tissue opened for the top layer of exposed muscle.
It was definitely going to leave a scar.]
Ah -- [He winced as he leaned closer to Raina, following her lead.] Do you have all your equipment here?
[He wouldn't have been surprised by her affirmative; Raina was a prepared, meticulous mind. She was a scientific mind, above all else.]

[ Raina offered a small smile. She never intended to kill him out here, of course. And she was sure he knew that. She would have cleaned him up and let him walk away regardless. But the torture might have gone on longer, and the deep wound she left on his chest wouldn't have been the only scar.
She brought over the topical anesthetic as well as the tools to stitch him up, resettling on his lap. She began to massage the numbing cream into the area. ]
For what it's worth, I'm sorry.
[ A brief glance toward his eyes and then back down to the wound -- cleaning it up properly before she began to stitch him up. ]

I know.
[Tender words, a gentle tone. Under different circumstances, it might have been mainstream romantic.]
This is just your way. Of caring.
[That excuse had already crystallized in his mind, and Chilton wasn't about to edit it. He winced as she dabbed the topical anesthetic, massaging it, until the tingle began to numb those tormented nerves.]

She pushed that thought out of her mind, using a careful and steady hand to close his wound. ]
We could get you a healer. If you want. I mean, I'll take care of you for as long as it takes to recover. But if you have to go to work tomorrow...
[ She tied off the suture, cutting the excess and leaving that part tended to at least. ]
Don't go to work tomorrow. Or the next day. We can stay here. The upstairs of this place is really lovely, and I...I need you. The things I've been going through without you have been so awful.
[ Taking his bloody hand, she pressed it against her ivory dress without a care, leaning in to kiss him with the same feverish and impassioned edge as she had when he first got in her car. But this time, it was out of desperation not deceptive distraction. ]

What is upstairs?
[Curious, he labored a breath. While his wounds were superficial, it still hurt. Chilton still felt her wrath in echoes.]
I might need a healer. I would prefer this doesn't bleed through my next couple of shirts.
[Needless to say, Chilton had some experience in the matter.]

[ Breathless between kisses, breathless with pure and complete need. Raina scooted off of him just enough to have access to the zipper of his pants, dragging it down and liberating him from them. Her eyes were focused on what she was doing -- longing and rich with desire. ]
There's a jacuzzi upstairs. Perhaps that will soothe the worst of the damage on your back. I'll take care of you, I promise.
[ It was every bit as sweet as it was possessive. I will take care of you. No one else, unless they dragged in a healer. And that healer would only come later -- when he needed to return to his daily activities. Not while he was here with her. Raina would leave him crippled so that he could stay with her -- so that she could be the one tending to him.
She was so gentle in her kisses at his neck as she slid up again, but this time it was to slip him inside of her. Raina was, after all, not wearing anything under the skirt of her dress.
They were two halves of a whole, Raina had come to realize. Without him in her life, there was an inescapable emptiness -- a void that could never be filled. ]
You complete me, Frederick. [ Words Raina had never understood until she met Frederick Chilton. And when she looked him in the eye and saw the way he was looking at her in return, she could only succumb to her pleasure. Likely over and over again. For the time being, they were joined in mind, body, and bond. This was, in her eyes, the very definition of perfection. ]
