OTA - Beaches near Heropa
[Looking for a break from the chilly temperatures of Maurtia Falls, Inanna's come down to Florida for a relaxing visit; not too far from Heropa. They won't be staying for long, but someone lucky enough could spot them out on the beach. It may still be too cold to go swimming, but it's just pleasant enough to lay back and soak up the warm sun. Even better is when the sun begins to set over the horizon, lighting the ocean up with rich orange and pink tones while the first pinpricks of stars begin to take their place in the sky.]

[And as long as Inanna's in the area, they may as well stop by a local business for a bite to eat. And maybe they have a little business to attend to with some of the staff here that they've been putting off. That doesn't mean they're entirely preoccupied with whatever that business is, of course. In fact, if they spot anyone lingering too long on the menu they'll take the chance to try to strike up a conversation.]

You should try the macarons. The vanilla lavender is amazing.

[And then there's the actual reason they're here—the Vorkosigans. Inanna made sure to send a text ahead to Cordelia to make sure she'd know when they were planning to stop by, but that doesn't guarantee that other members of the family won't find them first.]

Not really. It's the damned perfume company at the swear-in. Minor explosion sent their product absolutely everywhere - and of course I'm allergic.

I have no idea. It's possible they just knocked something over. Or lit something on fire. In any case, the end result is the same.

Different state, though technically it's closest to my city, yes. Apparently it's caused some behavioral changes as well. Lowered inhibitions.

[ Which ... has affected Miles very strangely on the whole, given his personality and the allergic reaction. But it sure did play a role in him ordering that ridiculous drink. ]

Probably not a good one, considering Aral's hard stare at his son. Disinhibited was more than a dangerous state for Miles... but who knows how his odd system was processing it. ]

Gave them the slip. Bel's probably pulling their hair out right now, but I really wanted that drink.

[ He's too old for this. But ... he's also bored now that his bad choices have been taken away. Time to make a new one. ]

[ The advantage of Aral not having been about for Miles' adventures with height and unbreakable vows is that Aral doesn't quite have the level of warning bells he needs for this. He frowns, listening both here and through the link. ]

[ That usual sense of stepping off a cliff is much quieter today, courtesy of the perfume. It's also not quite as bad of an idea as it used to be; Gregor had originally forbidden it while Miles had had all of his original bones. With his legs replaced (and his ability to give a damn about this power any more pretty much gone), he fares much better.

So he gets up, then, unfolding neatly to right around Aral's height. It ... likely looks a bit weird on him. Still gaunt and fragile, lacking the bloom of health that had marked his previous modification by Haen. His bone aches dial up a few notches over the link. Noticeable but manageable. ]
