OTA - Beaches near Heropa
[Looking for a break from the chilly temperatures of Maurtia Falls, Inanna's come down to Florida for a relaxing visit; not too far from Heropa. They won't be staying for long, but someone lucky enough could spot them out on the beach. It may still be too cold to go swimming, but it's just pleasant enough to lay back and soak up the warm sun. Even better is when the sun begins to set over the horizon, lighting the ocean up with rich orange and pink tones while the first pinpricks of stars begin to take their place in the sky.]

[And as long as Inanna's in the area, they may as well stop by a local business for a bite to eat. And maybe they have a little business to attend to with some of the staff here that they've been putting off. That doesn't mean they're entirely preoccupied with whatever that business is, of course. In fact, if they spot anyone lingering too long on the menu they'll take the chance to try to strike up a conversation.]

You should try the macarons. The vanilla lavender is amazing.

[And then there's the actual reason they're here—the Vorkosigans. Inanna made sure to send a text ahead to Cordelia to make sure she'd know when they were planning to stop by, but that doesn't guarantee that other members of the family won't find them first.]

A blend, rather. Obviously there's truth to it. But having found you prefer to be a nice person most of the time, you're suddenly stuck with no room to do otherwise.

Hm. An interesting theory, but...I don't think it fits me at all. I have plenty of room to be less than nice. Persephone, Luci...everyone I know would love it if I were less nice. A little more selfish. It would be easy to do otherwise if I had it in me.

Oh, well... I wouldn't say completely incapable. I'm a goddess of war as much as I am of love, but it would take quite a lot to push me that far.

I'm honestly not sure. I've never been pushed that far before, but...I think I'd need to be protecting someone.

I was. I still am, to be honest. I'd gladly go to war for Persephone, and you seemed determined to start one.

But you have more who might leave. Your brother, your mother, Miss Kitty. I understand how painful it is to lose someone you love, but you have to understand my concern in worrying about what might happen the next time you decide to take that pain out on us.

And I'd be devastated by each of them leaving, yes. But they wouldn't tear out a chunk of my mind in the process.

Hm... Well, whatever it did to you, I can't forgive what you did to my friends as a result.

[ There's a flare of color in his cheeks at that. ]

Which was what, exactly? Yelling? Threatening? Not pleasant, no, and not deserved, but for fuck's sake. Persephone hurt me worse than I ever hurt her.

[Meanwhile, Inanna's expression is quickly turning icy.]

You don't see how treating us like weapons to cut yourself on instead of people could be damaging? You look at Persephone like she's a monster. What do you think that does to someone?

[Inanna lets out a breath they'd been holding, the icy tension fading away again.]

...I'm not saying Persephone is perfect either, but she... There's so much for her to deal with already. And Luci.

You don't ... quite understand what the previous Lucifer put us through either, though. If you want to talk about things that are really unforgivable.

It's been some time since we walked among humans. [Because they're definitely gods and not just a bunch of kids jammed full of divinity or anything.] <

As for Luci... I know enough of the previous one to know that our Luci doesn't have any interest in his...hobbies.
