We'll go all in
WHO: Jim Kirk and Spock
WHERE: Their apartment in De Chima
WHEN: During the blackout!
WHAT: Discussion about the blackout
WARNINGS: PG-13 Suggestive/Compromising positions
It's been an exhausting evening of trying to find as many civilians as possible and escorting them to their local schools. The number of people taking advantage of the chaos wasn't exactly heartening, but Jim had done what he could. And so, tired and properly worn out, he was using his force field power to create a small blue-glowing plate in his hand so he could find his way back to his and Spock's apartment, now cool and dark.
"Spock?" he calls out into the apartment when he gets inside, immediately making his way to the couch to collapse into it.

As he started to cool down from his earlier exertions, Spock realized there was going to be a problem: with no power means no heat. Already the ambient temperature in what was the hottest room in their apartment was cooler than Spock considered comfortable and the rest of the apartment was worse. Spock began adding layers of clothing even though it felt a little silly wearing a hat and ear covers and a scarf while still in doors. But logic dictated action, and he followed logic to its conclusion of layering up.
By the time Jim arrives, Spock has taken to mild exercises in order to generate natural body heat under at least four layers of thick clothing. ]
Greetings, Jim. I presume you were procuring aid during the loss of electric power?
no subject
Oh. Wait.
He hadn't realized it but the temperature in the apartment was bordering comfortable/chilly for Jim...No heat. Which meant it was positively freezing for Spock.]
I was out making sure as few people were taken advantage of as possible, yeah.
[He stands back up again and approaches Spock.]
How long've you been home? Your room doesn't have any heat left in it?
[He didn't want to go check and let heat out just in case.]
no subject
[ Spock stops in front of Jim, the green flush on his cheeks apparent. ]
no subject
So that's a "no".
[On a more serious note, he puts his hands on Spock's shoulders to steady him and get a better look. There's a few layers under his hands which is concerning.]
You're still cold?
no subject
[ Which means he has none for the rest of the night. ]
no subject
[He motions to the couch then heads out of the living room. He comes back with the heavy comforter from their bed. Jim wraps it around Spock's shoulders.]
Tomorrow I'll go looking for a generator.
no subject
Such would be appreciated.
no subject
Seeing him sit as instructed without much argument and stretching out across the bond alerts him to Spock's drowsiness. Jim frowns and sits next to him. Was that enough to keep Spock from being hypothermic?]
Did you get hurt out there?
no subject
I did not, Jim. I am unharmed, merely cold.
no subject
Yeah well at this point, injured or cold is equally dangerous. This help at all?
no subject
Yes, Jim, your actions are generating additional heat.
no subject
We'll get through the night, rest, and tomorrow get back out there and see what needs to be done. That'll at least keep you warm. I'll work on the generator.
[He's continuing to rub at Spock's arms but he definitely can't keep this up all night.]
Have you heard anything about what caused this? I couldn't figure anything out from talking to others.
no subject
I have not, though communications are understandably lacking in such circumstances.
no subject
So right now we're not sure how long this outage could last. Damn. Couldn't this have happened over the summer?
no subject
no subject
Okay...okay. I'm calmed.
[Relatively speaking.]
no subject
You are calmer, [ he clarifies, placing just a bit of emphasis on the 'er' part. ]
no subject
Tomato, tomahto.
[His hands trail up to rest on either side of Spock's neck.]
no subject
But oh, that feels nice. Jim's hands are warm from his actions as well as his own body heat, and Spock can't help but let his eyes slip closed at the sensation on either side of his neck. ]
no subject
At Spock's reaction to his hands, he has an idea. It's so simple he's surprised he hasn't thought of it before this.]
Here.
[He sits next to Spock on the couch and removes their comforter from the shoulder closest to him. Jim sidles up close, then encloses himself in the blanket as well, wrapping an arm around Spock to pull them close together.]
Better?
no subject
Perhaps ... I am unable to detect any difference at this moment.
no subject
Jim rolls up his sleeves on his shirt while attempting to shimmy around under the blanket without letting it fall off or let out any heat.
He then works on slowly placing his hands on either of Spock's hips, giving him forewarning as to what may be next. Jim deftly snakes his hands under the multiple layers Spock is wearing to get in direct contact with the cool skin underneath.]
no subject
There is that momentary hesitation before he understands what Jim is trying to do, but their bond helps the understanding come even without exchanging words. His body is relaxed by the time Jim's hands meet his skin.
And it's cold skin, chilled to the point of shivering, which Jim can now feel under his fingers; the layers on him were too thick to detect it before. Spock's eyes close in mild relief at the feel of those two points of heat on his hips, unable to hide his reaction to it. ]
no subject
And that's what alarms him, as well as the feel of Spock's subtle shivering, which he hadn't seen with all of those layers. He's relieved at least that his idea seemed to work.
Jim maneuvers to take his own shirt off--he should be okay for now underneath their comforter and with the ambient heat left--at least for the evening. Whether he could warm Spock up enough before he himself started to feel more uncomfortably cold was a different story. He drops his shirt out onto the floor out of the blanket space.
There. Jim scoots closer.]
Take off a couple of layers so you can lift up your shirts a bit more--it'll be easier to make a lot of skin contact like that.
no subject
Is that wise? You also will become chilled in the process.

Without dropping the comforter around their shoulders, Spock removes at least two layers, leaving the last two layers of thermal wear he acquired early last year. They kind of almost look like the Starfleet under dress black. ]
no subject
Jim shifts forward and notices the similarity, suddenly wondering how many layers Spock has to wear on a starship to be comfortable when most humans are chilled on them.
Slowly, he drags his hands up Spock's torso, bringing the layers up and exposing his bare skin, but leaving his sleeves intact. Jim presses in close, straddling Spock's hips and pressing their abdomens together, wrapping his arms around Spock's middle, nearly nose to nose.
It's an odd sensation--it's starting to get warm under the comforter for Jim but it's like he's hugging an ice pack. All he can do is hope that Spock warms up a little from heat transfer before they finally settle down for sleep later.]
no subject
For the sake of ease with their new positions, Spock's hands some to rest at Jim's lower back, helping him keep his balance while he's over Spock. He has gloves on and Jim still has his pants on (thank goodness), but the chill of his hands can still be felt despite the layers. ]
no subject
A chill runs through Jim as his body adjusts to the coolness of Spock's skin. He leans forward to rest his chin on Spock's shoulder, part of his cheek laying against whatever is bare of Spock's neck.]
First thing tomorrow, I'll look for a generator. If I can't find one, I'll see about alternative heat sources.
no subject
Jim's cheek is resting just behind Spock's ear, the earmuff he's wearing ridiculously funny considering its fuzziness. The scarf Spock found is covering most of his neck, though the warmth of Jim's cheek can still be felt. ]
While it would be ideal if the power returned forthwith, it would be logical to plan for the worst, to borrow the Human phrase. I will accompany you to locate some alternate heat source.

This helping at all?
no subject
Minimally, though it is helping.
