WHAT: Daisy wants to see what's up with this Bruce Wayne guy after he hires Jonathan Crane. Why not pose as a fake intern?

[It was a little early in the season to hire new interns-- college wouldn't start again for a number of months now, but the extra help couldn't hurt, and it would also help to rejuvenate morale in the community with their young people getting an early start in a well-known, good paying business.

Bruce, of course, as a hands-on CEO has taken it upon himself to welcome them all to the company. He helps to answer a few of their questions, introduce himself, and learn a little about them before handing them off to their appropriate team leader. One of them in particular catches his eye, though, so he saves her for the very end. Bruce had a bit of a reputation as a playboy, so this doesn't surprise anybody, but he presses lightly on the button of the intercom and asks his secretary to let her in...]

[Of course Daisy has no idea this man is Batman, so she thinks she'll play him good. All of this over the fact that he seemed to want to help Crane, someone she thought was well beyond help and certainly deserved none of it.

When she was called in, Daisy walked into Mr. Wayne's office with her bullshit resume. AKA she doesn't have any actual 'educated' experience with tech related stuff. She's just naturally good at it. Still, keeping up appearances.]

Hi, Mr. Wayne. I'm Daisy Johnson.

[Such a fake smile but easily passable as the real deal. What? She lies for a living back home, at least when she has to. Daisy reached her hand out to him as well.]

[Speaking of fake smiles, he passes off one of his own as he rises from his chair, buttoning his jacket with one hand like he's done it a million times in the past. He sizes her up (which could be mistaken for checking her out), but he doesn't suspect she's carrying anything he needs to be worried about.]

Daisy. [He repeats, taking her hand.] Thank you for coming. And please, call me Bruce.

[She didn't need to carry anything, her power was all she needed. Even if having a gun couldn't hurt, she wouldn't be stupid enough to do that here.]

Okay, Bruce.

[She could see why he was a playboy, and she was willing to turn up the charm if it meant getting the information she wanted.]

Thank you for seeing me today.

Of course. I'd be stupid not to. [He leaves a pause before continuing.]

This is an impressive resume, after all. I could likely move you in to a position now, let alone just an internship. [He smiles again.]

So, what interests you in my company over some of the other imPort companies out there?

Thank you, sir.

[So proper. What a proper young lady. Totally not calling him an asshole in her head.]

Technology has always been a something I've been interested in, and your technological department is something I would be proud to be a part of. It's inspiring, really.

[Ass kisser.]

Is that right?

[He leans back against his desk a little bit and reaches for the resume on his desk.]

Why don't you tell me a little about your background with technology. Something I can't get from this. [He holds up the resume a little.]

I've always had a knack for finding the patterns in things.

[Boy is she playing you.]

Computer science is based around finding pattern, so, put those two together and you get a degree in CS.

[God... cue the Jim Halpert stare into the camera. But after a long pause (a long... pause...) he tosses the resume aside on his desk and smiles broadly.]

Well, I'm sold! I think you'll fit in just fine here, Daisy. Is there anything in particular you'd like to ask me?

[Like she'd fold that easily. Daisy was pretty damn good at pretending, which is why her excitement is pretty convincing.]

Not that I can think of, although if I think of anything I'll be sure to ask. Thank you, sir. I really appreciate the opportunity.

[You can be a good enough liar to sell ice to an Eskimo, but it doesn't matter too much when the person you're trying to pull one over on knows you're a liar.]

Please, sir is so formal. Remember-- Bruce is fine.

[He considers his options for a minute.]

Are you hungry? I'm starving. We have a great cafeteria here in the building, and it'll give me a chance to show you around the department a little bit.

[She's gonna look like a damn fool when she finds out who he is. Well, she already looks like one, but, she doesn't know that.]

You actually eat in the cafeteria?

[Of course she's gonna jump at the chance to get a lay of the land.]

Sorry, it's just, you own this place. I never picture CEO's eating with the rest of us. I would love that though. Thank you, Bruce

[What a quick learner ~~and an ass kisser~~.]

[God, her attitude is so put on he finds it almost cloying considering he's met the real her already. He wonders briefly if the people who know him feel the same way. What a strange moment of self-realization.]

I... think you may have a different impression of what I mean by cafeteria. [He laughs lightly, leading her to the elevator.]

So, tell me a little about yourself, Daisy. You're an imPort, yes? What was the world where you come from like? What did you do there?

[Daisy just smiles in response about the cafeteria. She is curious though. Probably some unnecessary food options like escargot or whatever.]

I am, been here for over a year now.

[She's prepared for questions like this one.]

Well, powered people exist back home as well. So there's that in common, although they're not treated nearly as nice as they are here.

I was one of them.

Was? [Noticing the past tense here, again a bit of truth hidden in the lie.] So, not anymore then? Sort of a strange circumstance.

Were you a part of one of those groups that you see pretty often these days? If you don't mind me asking, of course.

[The elevator door opens to the cafeteria, which seems to have its own level even. A large, spacious lounge where employees can relax and eat away from the stresses of the work day. There is no caviar, of course, but there are professional chefs on call all day to handle the needs of the staff.]

Oh I still am. It's just the term 'Inhuman' doesn't mean the same thing here as it does back home.

[Daisy looks up at the numbers on the elevator go down until he asks if she was a part of these groups.]

For a time.

[Well it wasn't a lie. Stepping out once the doors open, Daisy is clearly impressed by just how large this cafeteria was.]

Wow. Okay, our ideas of a cafeteria are very different.

[Bruce grabs a tray and steps in line with her.]

Inhuman seems a little disparaging. [A beat.] So, what kind of work did you do there?

[Daisy's not really hungry, but she does take a tray for appearances sake.]

It's actually pretty accurate. I'm mostly human with some alien DNA mixed in there.

[She knew that question was coming.]

I was a field agent. I helped protect my kind, tried to build a team of us. Not as easy as it sounds.
