open log;
WHO: Billy Kaplan and YOU
WHERE: De Chima, Heropa, around and about
WHEN: November!
WHAT: Open log!
WARNINGS:
a; magic shop
[Billy has been letting the Rare Book room languish a little, but the shop is still open and while no one would say business is booming, business is certainly good. There are a group of girls in the corner looking at a display of tarot cards, and someone is just coming out of a consultation with Billy himself.
He gets to the counter.]
Can I help you?
b; Heropa
[It's not that it ever gets cold, but it's a little chillier, so Billy is actually wearing his cape. Yes. A cape. The drama is absurd but he seems totally unbothered by the fact that he has a hot dog, a cape, and his shirt and jeans on as he makes his way, methodically, through eating this hot dog.
Doctor Strange eat your heart out.
He looks up in the middle of a bite.]
Take a picture, it'll last longer.
c; wild card, or, choose your own adventure and prompt me!
[If you want a specific prompt, let me know and I'll write it!

a!
No, I don't think so, [ he says cautiously, brows lifting. ] I suppose I was just curious about what a magic shop consists of. [ selling magic to random strangers.. he can imagine how well that would go over in parts of thedas.
he shifts, stepping closer, folding his arms lightly over the counter. ] --Are you a mage, then, or do you just study magic?
no subject
Billy himself looks vaguely un-extra-ordinary.]
Witch, is what I prefer, but yeah, that's me.
[He waves a hand.]
Owner and primary spellcaster.
a :D
Do you have any books about Christian mythology?
no subject
We have rare Bibles, including a copy of the Owl Husband Bible, if that's what you mean. Unless you want commentary, then we have a little of that too. And the regular King James but only one copy.
[And a pause.]
Oh, and someone gave me a Book of Mormon if you want it.
no subject
What in the world is a mormon?
no subject
[Billy flattens his mouth just a little bit.]
Let's start with King James, I think.
Also, can I ask why you came to a magic shop for Christian books?
[He's already stepping out from behind the counter, heading into one of section of bookshelves.]
no subject
[It's all based on the same kind of mytholoy, isn't it? He follows, although at a respectful distance.]
I need information.
no subject
[He thinks a moment-]
Also they think magic is evil. Well. Not all of them. But in general.
b
Well, if you insist. [Said with a deadpan sense of humour to it. And then actually takes a picture. Yep. Hi.
She puts the phone back in her pocket and draws the chopsticks out, preparing to dig into this sushi.
She's also not wearing a cape like he is, but sorta close. Ish. With her grey skinny jeans, dark brown ankle boots, black long sleeved shirt, and a simple black fake leather jacket, is a red shawl.]
no subject
Hey, mom.
[He says it easily, gives her a smile. It's nice to see her. He feels like he doesn't much, so this is a treat.]
Did you talk to Cap?
no subject
no subject
[He nods.]
I mean, I'm friends with the one back...in my world, you know?
no subject
Speaking of differences and homes and friends and such, can I ask a question about family in your universe? [It's just that she realizes she's never heard him mention who exactly his father is, and she's curious now that they're on the topic. She also doesn't realize what a complicated question that one is -- well, how complicated most of it is, really. But he also doesn't have to answer it, obviously, if he doesn't want to. Which is also why she's giving another chance to shut down any potential questions that don't want to be answered before she asks the real question. She pops another roll of sushi into her mouth and eats that while she gives him a chance to respond.]
no subject
Cap is always nice. Unless you're fighting on the wrong side of a war against him.
[But he raises his hand.]
Sure.
no subject
I guess mostly for starters, who your father is? I feel like I don't know as much about your life before this place as I'd like to.
no subject
Well. Technically, you, uh. Made our souls? From the magic of this one demon. But you were with the Vision at the time, so I think you crafted us to be his kids, as much as he has genes.
But really we're yours.
no subject
That sounds like an impressive amount of magic. [Another understatement of the year.] Vision was only created a year ago in my world. [That must seem like so recent to Billy. But she says it with a small smile.] You could say we're doing this -- [a small wave kind of gesture with her hand holding the chopsticks] -- dance of interest with each other. [That time he kept her under house arrest under Tony's direction sure made things kind of awkward though. Something to smooth out later, probably, if she ever gets sent back home or if that version of him shows up here at some point.]
no subject
God, Ultron. I guess he's sort of my grandfather. Or Hank Pym, which, let's be real: kinda worse.
[Billy shrugs a little. His family is strange. That also would make Victor his cousin, which, okay, that's cool.]
I don't know about impressive. It's certainly a lot. It's weird magic. We have weird magic.
a!
I'd like to talk about the wards you've set. Is this the place to do it?
Re: a!
He waves his hand and a blue bubble surrounds them.]
There, some privacy.
[Granted, this privacy is auditory only. Billy still has eyes on the other people in the shop.]
no subject
Huh. What does this do? This - [ He waves his hand to indicate the bubble. ]
no subject
[It's a cone of silence.]
no subject
no subject
[If he does there will be a slight buzzing, but no pain.]
b.
Reggie blinks back to reality, a scowl already curling at the corner of his mouth even before he recognizes who's speaking; once he does, up goes one of his eyebrows, his hand moving to perch on his hip. ]
Right -- except what would I want with a picture of you?
no subject
Then keep your eyes to yourself?
[You know? Stop looking? But lord, he rolls his eyes because Reggie.]
Do you live here?
no subject
[ His brows both lower again, shelving irritably over his eyes. ]
Heropa? Yeah, for now -- always have. [ But rather than the more standard "and you?" Reggie instead opts for: ] What's with the cape?
no subject
[He frowns. He really likes capes.]
Besides it looks good when I fly.
