This title was going to be another reference to Owl City
WHO: Maya and Kaneda
WHERE: Somewhere in Alabama after Disney
WHEN: November 1, 2
WHAT: KIDS BEING KIDS BEING KIDS BEING KIIIIDS and making last minute plans and spending money they've never had before and shit like that
WARNINGS: these are teenagers-ish who are dating, they are going to be gross and sexual content will be discussed
It's roooooom 703.
[States Maya, pressing the corresponding floor number on the hotel elevator and wiggling in her kitten heels, which after a very long day are starting to tire out her feet. The wiggling isn't all discomfort, though; she's quick to spin around in the glass-walled elevator and look out at the hotel's lobby as it slowly sinks away from them.]
I've never been in a hotel this big!
[She's also never just decided to take off and suddenly go on vacation in another state.
It was probably unexpected, considering she'd turned to Kaneda toward the end of their stay at Disney (after things began to get.. weird) and told him that they should just get a hotel in Alabama and have fun. And since Feys can't be stopped, they've not only gotten a hotel room, but a nice, expensive hotel, and a promise not to care about spent money.
After all, what's a collected fortune here when you've ported out, anyway?
Maya turns her head to see Kaneda, to watch his reaction, knowing full well this place is just as new to him as it is to her.]

[A simple comment as Kaneda waits for her to find the right door, bag slung over his shoulder and staring up at the surroundings like he was dropped in some random wild African desert. Never before had he thought that he could use money to live the rich life for a weekend--he'd been too used to Nonah 05 being a permanent home to even consider it.
The elevator is at least welcome enough, he knows what those are as he watches the floors slowly escalate them upwards. ...And they keep going up.]
You sure people do this all the time?
[Because a.) what and b.) why did no one tell him this sooner.]

[But the bags of Disney gifts for their collective "younger siblings" is evidence the both of them could afford at least a taste of extravagance. Benefits of still being registered, and all that. Maya taps her foot as they wait.]
I guess movie stars could do it all the time, and I know Edgeworth always used to stay in nice hotels when he was traveling. He probably wouldn't enter a hotel that didn't guarantee it came with a pre-sanitized mattress topper and a sunroom.
[What the fuck are rich people]
no subject
Then again, Kaneda's only image of a rich lifestyle was in storybooks.]
...Hey.
Are we gonna have all that stuff?
And what happens when the sun goes down in a sunroom, huh?
no subject
I dunno yet. I didn't really check.
And it just gets dark, duh. I dunno, maybe it's a moonroom.

The higher in Neo Tokyo you went, the richer and more privileged you were. The only time you got anywhere was the courtyards that had become hangouts.
Never INSIDE a building.]
And we don't have to share it with anyone?

[Their door isn't far from the elevators and though Maya's arms are full of some of their bounty, it's easy for her to hold up the key card against the door's locking mechanism. The mechanism lights up and a loud click automatically turns the handle for the guest's convenience, and Maya pushes the door open with her foot like a classy lady.
There's no sun room, but there's not much to complain about, either.
Like most of Disney's hotels this one is themed-- perfectly pastel fridgidaire-era decor themed after Disney's licensed characters. From mouse shaped polka-dots to mint-and-white walls, the entire thing looks like a page from history for these two, though it probably looks on par for the rest of the U.S.
After a short entryway is a small living room area with a TV and couch (the kind that pulls out into a bed, a hotel staple) and coffee table. The hallway between the living area and bathroom houses a kitchenette and sink with coordinating decor. The bathroom's entryway is just before the bedroom's and like most hotels features a double sink, toilet, and shower, but in all honesty the amount of pastel rose ceramic covering the bathroom decor is a little garish. Maybe it has it's own kitschy appeal, or maybe it's one of those "only [XX]'s kids remember" sort of thing.
The bedroom makes up for the eyesore that is the bathroom, though, with a large bed dressed in freshly laundered sheets and night stands on either side, and even a little work desk intended for people who actually plan to get things done while staying in the hotel. The highlight, however, is the wide, tall panelled window facing the highways and brightly lit park areas in the distance.]
Ta-dah!

Immediately booking it for that bed. Hell, the bathroom was enough--it was far better than the bathroom he had in his room, and he didn't really care enough about colour to bitch about it. Could use a bit more red, though.
Just saying.
But the bed is what really catches his eye, dropping the bags in mid run and pretty much dive bombing onto it, practically sinking right into the mattress and blankets and....laughing. This was exactly his fantasy as a kid growing up. A roomt that he could flop into a bed that didn't feel like a rock, a great view of the streets below just like he'd seen in Neo Tokyo's courtyards. A potted plant in the corner. A bathroom that came with soap and warm water and an actual kitchen.
He could cook here.
It was PERFECT.]

That boy.
It's not rare to see him smile or laugh these days, but in this way, like a delighted child... Maya can't say she's seen too much of that. But that's why she's brought him here; to give him that. To see the smile on his face that ensues, and not just because that smile sparks the weirdest but most pleasant little tug in her chest.
Kicking off her heels to the corner, Maya dashes in after him and climbs up on the bed, flopping against him in a sloppy dogpile and giving a whoop of a cheer.]
It's sooooo soft!

Maya.
Maya maya maya maya maya Mayooooooi~
Let's live here.
[He's not serious, of course.
But a part of him wishes he was.]
no subject
[Maya insists between giggles, waiting until they're comfortably sandwiched to pepper his face with quick, teasing kisses.]
See? I always have great ideas!
no subject
Okay okay! A different hotel...
I'll give you THIS one, but I'll catch you with a bad idea one of these days!
no subject
[She mutters, smug, eyes narrowed like a happy cat and that trademark crooked smile of hers plastered on her face. She gives a dramatic huff suddenly and rests all her weight on him, putting her head on his chest.]
Aaaaand now you're trapped here forever.
no subject
[The fake sound of defeat echoes from his lips as his body goes limp against her weight. As if the battle was futile right there.]
What will I do with a hot chick lying on top of me forever...
no subject
[She says, crossing her arms over his chest and resting her chin on her wrists, back to grinning like the cheshire.]
no subject
Anything I want.
No repercussions.
[Much like a dog testing the waters of passing by a cat in the hallway, this one.]
no subject
[She tilts her head slightly to the side, looking at him from under her lashes.]
no subject
[Sorry, leave a message after the beep. Kaneda's currently walking on air. Teenage boys with one track minds and all.]
no subject
Iiii changed my miiiiiiiiind~!
no subject
Nuh-uh, Ah-uh.
You said! You said annnnyyythinggg!!!
Maya, Maya. Maya.
Mayyyoii.
no subject
Nyeeeehhhh, tooooo late~!
[She laughs before deciding that fighting back by attempting to lick him with that stuck-out-tongue is one hundred percent the perfect adult thing to do right now.]
no subject
[Her tongue glides across his cheek, and his first (and only) reaction is to laugh stupidly at it. Gross and weird and perfect is how he'd describe it, and it shows in the pure bliss on his face.
They're such morons, and Kaneda loves every moment of it.]
Hey, if you're going to do THAT, do it RIGHT.
[And playfully straddling her, he leans over to catch those lips in his own, taking in a kiss from her and stealing his victory. She's as soft and sweet as ever, the kiss more than satisfying him as his lips glide across hers. Sure, it was mostly for play and to prove a point, but it was just like Maya had said--they could do anything, and that anything could start off with a little makeout session with his girlfriend. He deserved that, honestly.
His tongue runs across her lips, teasingly, knowing full well that she can't keep that stone wall up for very long against him.
On vacation.
Kaneda loved kissing his girlfriend more than words could ever say (but he'd damn sure try to use them to every person he ran across), and right now it's all he wants to do.
Well, maybe a little more, but definitely a good start.]

There's a lot of people who might question why Maya's so pressed on a kid like Kaneda, rough as he comes across. He's got such a punk ass look to him most people-- imPorts and civilians alike-- assume that's all there is. But Maya knows by now that she's kissing the same punk that walked around singing Taylor Swift cooking breakfast for Ken with Dalish stretched around his shoulders like a living mink. She's kissing the killer teenager who wept over his brother, the same tough brawler who reserved a pie online. He could be absolutely ridiculous, but he was always more than he'd seemed.
She'll tease him until the cows come home, but she doesn't have any real second thoughts.
Nipping his lip with her front teeth-- gently, gently-- Maya can't hold back a devilish little laugh. Sorry, Kaneda, you chose this kind of trouble.]
no subject
Didn't stop her from being a little shit, though, as teeth pull against his lip playfully. He can't help but grin in response, brushing his nose against hers in an attempt to get control back from that kiss.]
no subject
She giggles a bit, rolling her eyes, and smooches him quickly as if to say "hold on!"]
I'm seeeerious. I mean, not about changing my mind, just, about anything.
[She tells him, putting on her best 'serious' face, which for the moment is nothing more than a pout with trembling corners. Her nose even twitches from the effort put in to keep from giggling.]
no subject
Her lips peck his, instantly gaining his attention long enough to get that sentence out. Letting him process that for a moment.]
Wait.
Wait. You're serious.
no subject
[She takes his moment of surprise to untrap her hands and drapes them over his shoulders, and looks towards the door.]
Since no one's here to interrupt.
no subject
[Forgive him for being so cautious about this, Maya. He is like a dog who's been offered to play in the mud.
Fingers playing with the bottom of her shirt.]
Like...things we can't even do at my place. Or your place.
no subject
[Replies Maya, knowing full well he has reason to hesitate. It doesn't stop her from teasing. Sorry about your life, Kaneda. It's easier for her to do this than, you know, let herself get embarrassed. She drums her fingers against his shoulders and sighs like he's taking SOOOO LONG to make up his mind.]
Pretty sure we're on the same page here.
no subject
Didn't think so.
Lips press against Maya's own once more, picking up where they left off with more intense urgency than there had been before, curious hands slipping underneath that shirt in an attempt to shimmy it up her torso. Sure, he was impatient, and it took every ounce of self control from not just telling her to hold her arms up so he could pull it off himself--
But he was Kaneda through and through, and he wanted to enjoy every part of this. Calloused hands run over smooth skin, feeling over all of Maya's curves. He's waited almost a year for this to happen and you can bet your ass he's going to make it count.]
no subject
Maya does her best not to distract much from kissing, being that she's quite enjoying that part, but she can't help but let out a few more giggles when Kaneda's fingers touch her skin. She arcs her back just a little, pushing into his touch despite protesting against his lips--]
You're tickling me, hold on--
[And doing her best to tug her shirt up on her own, since apparently he's having trouble!!!!!!]
