Sasaki will be celebrating Halloween his own way, which is giving candy to the people he knows. If you want your character to meet him (either he drops by their place, or they randomly meet on the street), just send me a private message or contact me over plurk

[ Sasaki never celebrated Halloween; Kaneki had gone to a Halloween party two years ago, but he didn't trick-or-treat or dress up in the spirit of the season. And back home, Halloween isn't all that popular of a holiday in Japan. This year, though, he really wishes to try it out. Not only he is different from the scared kaneki from two years ago and the paranoid and no-fun kaneki from last year, this will be Hinami's first Halloween too - one which she can enjoy. And that's a huge reason to celebrate it himself.

His usual "Sasako" (aka, cross dressing Sasaki, for those who are wondering) persona is great for undercover jobs, and also for this. Sasaki dressed up for the Dendarii Corps party and sure he will also dress up for the Halloween night.

He is surprisingly REALLY good at this.

Once he is ready, Sasaki moves to Hinami's room and knocks at her door. ] Hinami-chan~ are you done with your costume? We should be leaving in a moment.

[ Tonight, Sasaki decided to walk Hinami for a while, until at least she got used to what trick-or-treating means and found some friends. More than once he was called the girl's "mother" thanks to his own Halloween costume, "Sasako" aka cross-dressing. It seems that he really is good at looking like a woman, and good for everyone that he doesn't mind being mistaken for one (that's the whole point, after all!).

He would stay with Hinami all night if she asked so of him, but unlike what Kaneki used to be (paranoid, intense, obsessive), Sasaki is much more relaxed and thinks it's good for Hinami to try things on her own and tonight was perfect for that; there were many adults around, many children, and everyone was having a good time. Eventually he allows her to go on her own and he decides to do his own thing: give Halloween candy to his friends. While some of it was bought (like candy corn and chewing gum), he made cupcakes, the candy apples, cookies, pops, and several more, and put them in treat bags, to give one to each person he'd find. Since Sasaki can't eat and go trick-or-treating, this seemed like a good idea to celebrate the holiday.

As he waves at three children who said he was "a pretty lady", Sasaki continues down the street. At least he isn't wearing high-hell shoes; he didn't dare to, he already knows that would have been a huge mistake considering how much he has to walk tonight ]

[Riku doesn't need to dress up -- the bat wings are festive enough, and unlike normally, no one gives him a second glance for them. He's not trick-or-treating -- he's just wandering back from the store, a little convenience store bag hanging from one hand. He's left his roommates in charge of handing out candy, and he can't say he's confident in that, but at least Namine will keep Sora and Kagami from eating it, he supposes.

He's standing on the corner of a street, blinking around to make sure he's not going to get run over as soon as he steps off the curb, and then he spots Sasaki directly across the way from him. Riku's eyes kind of slide off 'her' at first, and then he does a very obvious double-take and marches straight across the road. (A little sedan has to come to an abrupt halt as he does this.) Don't think he doesn't know who you are, Sassan.]

Your costume is pretty impressive, [he says simply, grinning.]

[ when Sasaki hears a familiar voice he quickly turns around. The couple of people he has met haven't all recognized him on the get-go, but the fact that riku did makes him smile brightly. It only means he already knows Sassan well enough RIGHT ]

Hi Riku! [ he nods after ] Thank you. it took me hours, but I'm proud of it.

[ of course he is ] Are you trick-or-treating?

[Riku shakes his head, lifting the bag in indication.]

I'm not, actually. I just went to the store, and I'm on the way back again. Didn't expect to see you out here, though. Are you trick-or-treating?

[Somehow he doubts it very much.]

[ Sasaki shakes his head softly ] Just dropped off Hinami-chan, since she wanted to trick-or-treat.

Me, I'm actually giving candy instead of asking for it. [ and actually, Sasaki will move to grab his purse which is sort of like a bag - yes, because ladies have purses so does Sasaki - and reaches for something inside ] Actually, i have some for you.

[ he pulls a small bag with a variety of home-made candy, specially decorated for the occasion, with skulls and vampire teeth - all made of sugar, of course. Even fake eyes and fake cut fingers, which he made with marzipan ]

What?

[He's honestly startled. He's not sure anyone has ever done something like that, besides the time he'd gotten the blind date invitation in the mail along with all the Valentine's candy. But that had gone to many people. This is... it stands out more, somehow.]

... Thanks, [says Riku slowly, reaching out to receive the bag. His awe is written all over his face.] You didn't have to do something like this.

Oh- it's alright. I can't do much for others, so this is all I have right now. [ sort of. Sasaki likes to make others happy, specially the ones he cares for, and this wasn't all... that special, he figures. it's just candy in the end ]

I hope you will like the candy. I tried to put in a bit of everything but- [ if Riku is picky regarding flavors, well... that will suck for him. ]

Hm? Ah, I'll probably like it. Sweets are always welcome.

[And even if he doesn't like certain flavours, he can share with his roommates. Sora will eat just about everything, after all.]

But... really. Thanks.

[ he shakes his head softly ] Not a problem, Riku,

It just means Sassan likes you a lot. [ he winks back at him, playfully. ] Also means Sassan is amazing.

Heh... I guess it does mean that, huh? Completely amazing. Congratulations.

[Riku crouches, then rearranges the shopping bag so that he can set Sasaki's parcel carefully on top of the items already there, so he won't crush it by accident.]

There, now it's safe.

I know, I know. It's hard to miss how great I am.

[ Sasaki waves his hand ] That's good. Keep it safe.

Though, if you do lose the candy, I guess I could try getting you some more, if you ask nicely.

Yeah? Heh... well, all right, then. I'll remember that. Do you do this for all the holidays, Sasaki?

Uhm- no. [ sasaki touches his own chin, with a small awkward smile ]

For Christmas and new Year, I do cook for my kids and my family and we have dinner together. [ even if he doesn't eat a thing and just stays there, sipping water ] But for Halloween I wanted to do something else - since it's a halloween about giving candy to other people.

That's true. Halloween is a little different.

[Riku moves to stand beside him, elbow crooked so that Sasaki can take his arm.]

Now, then. It's important to be a gentleman for a lady, right? Where are you going next?

Oh, I'm touched, Riku. [ Sasaki takes his arm with a big smile, clearly amused ]

I'm just going house to house and share candy with the people I know. You can come - unless you have something to do, of course.

I don't, really.

[He lifts the bag in indication, then swings that arm outward, away from his body. Under his hand opens a black portal and he sets the bag down into it. Instantly it's swallowed and the whole thing disappears.]

Just had to drop that off. Now I'm free to do whatever, so -- lead the way.

[ Sasaki watches, blinking for a moment. Portals, uh. It's still something he isn't that used to, but he has to admit those probably come in hand a lot.

But then he looks back at Riku ]

Oh- don't you want to go trick-or treat?

Hm? No, I was just going back home, but now that I've sent that back, I don't need to. It's up to you.

[Trick-or-treating... probably Sora was interested, but Riku hasn't gone trick-or-treating since he was thirteen or fourteen. So that doesn't matter too much for him.]

[ Sasaki tugs Riku's arm playfully ] Then we should definitively go trick or treating - enjoy it while you can, Riku. [ Riku is probably a bit too old for this, but he's an imPort and natives sure love their heroes.

He should take that chance ]

While I can, huh?

[He looks down at himself, frowning gently.]

If you want me to trick-or-treat with you, it's a little silly to be just wearing my street clothes, isn't it?

You have the wings, nobody will be able to tell the difference. [ it's true, if he thinks about it. But still, Sasaki smiles ]

Unless you want to change into something else.

Ah, well, I left my costume from the swear-in at home. That's all right, though.

You do have Portals. [ but well.

Sasaki tugs Riku's arm gently ] Shall we go, then? They will probably notice I'm too old for this but I'll just pretend I'm your mom. [ he should not be this comfortable as a woman, and yet here we are ]

[That'd work if they weren't so close in age that it's impossible for Sasaki to be his parent.]

Are you like my new stepmom, is that how this works?

[Wait, does he have to call him 'mom'?]

I guess I can adopt you. I already have a lot of kids, so what's one more? [ he laughs, amused. ]

I'm a great mom, you know? i force you to train properly and feed you.

Ah, so you're perfect for the job, then. Though I think I probably do pretty well with the training on my own...

[Actually, he takes better care of himself here than he did over the last couple of years he was at home.]

But yes, let's go. Lead the way, mom.
