It'd taken a lot of last minute scrambling, a lot of runs to the grocery store, and a lot of help from her friends. But as Naminé steps back from the set up, she smiles. Allows herself a little bit of pride in what she's accomplished.

The home tent is where all the food is. Fold up tables have been loaded with an array of sandwiches, finger foods, and drinks, and a cooler nearby has fish and other seafood goodies to be grilled at the bonfire once someone gets hungry for it. This is also where she'll direct friends to drop off snacks and homemade goodies. Please do not sneak any of the chocolate and marshmallows meant for s'mores later.

Close by is the rest area, which is really just a big spread of blankets and a couple fold up chairs on the sand. She doesn't expect everyone to want to stay standing up all day, after all. Naminé knows she's going to be there for a bit, chatting with friends who are visiting, and she may have started a tiny sandcastle and collection of sea shells at the edge of the blankets as well.

The volleyball net and accompanying volleyball are borrowed from a co-worker, so it definitely needs to get back to her in one piece. There's plenty of space for other sports and competitions though...perhaps a game of soccer? And how could anyone ignore the ocean? She and a few others will likely be waist deep in it, learning and practicing how to swim.

Not bad for her first party. Now all she has to do is wait for her guests.

Yeah. Don't just run all over the place only looking after everyone else. [ Because he doesn't want her to tire herself out when it's a party she's at too-- but Hyunsoo saying that? Out loud? That'd be the biggest joke of the year, honestly. Even though it's kind of implied anyway in the way he almost pouts as he starts holding his fish over the fire. (Without dropping it in there this time.) ]

What use is a party if you can't even sit down for a bit?

[She beams at the scene before them, her friends sitting at the fireside with them, or milling around close by. So many people chatting and smiling and enjoying themselves. This is the kind of thing she's always wanted to be a part of.]

[ Okay, Hyunsoo can't hear something like that without blushing. Despite it not really being directed to him and despite him not being the one saying it, just.. hearing something like that is enough to make a deep red shade creep up on his cheeks. It's just so cheesy. ]

S-seriously, you're so innocent...

[ Although she's still young, huh. That's got to be it. He's never met anyone older than that who still can say stuff like that. ]

[Though she doesn't know what exactly she's apologizing for. Being innocent is a good thing, in her opinion.]

It's the truth, though, I'm really happy everyone is here. I hope we can have more parties together.

[ The blush doesn't disappear right away, although this time it might instead be because he's feeling kind of embarrassed that he's making Naminé apologize over.. well, nothing. Basically. ]

D.. don't say sorry! That's just why I said that.. you're too nice. [ Not meant in a bad way, even though Hyunsoo still looks pretty embarrassed - but that's all on him. ] A lot of people wouldn't bother throwing parties like this for their friends.

Maybe, maybe not. I want to be different than that, though. I want to be the kind of friend that people are glad to see at the end of a long day. Throwing a party is a small thing compared to showing everyone that, I think.

[She supposes she's a little bit like Kairi, in that regard. Patiently waiting...]

[ At least he seems to calm down a little bit - tsun-wise, anyway - when the conversation goes in that direction. Hyunsoo looks away at the fish roasting above the fire, seemingly thinking about what she's saying. ]

Wouldn't it be hard to be that sort of person for a lot of people though..?

Hm...I've never really thought about that before.

[Certainly she's never been much of anything to anyone for half of her existence, aside from being a witch, so wanting to be something for everyone else is a dive into unknown waters. But he has a point.]

But it doesn't have to be every moment of every day, and not always with parties. e

So more just something like a good friend who's there for you when you need it, huh? [ He can't believe those sappy words just left his mouth, but then again.. as long as he's not implying that's anything he could ever feel about anyone, then it might just be fine to say it without too much tsunning. ]

I guess that's not that weird or impossible. There's more people that are like that.

I can be that friend for you, too, if you ever need me to be. I know it's a little presumptuous, since we don't know each other that well, but I'd like to know you better, Hyunsoo.

[ Not ready. So not ready. His face turns completely red the moment she says that, and he even freezes up on the spot for the moment, like he just heard something his brain can't quite process.

Someone wanting to be friends with him. Wanting to get to know him better.. it's been a long time since he's had something like that. It's enough to affect him to a point where he can't just plain reject her in his usual tsun way, he'd feel like a terrible person for doing it. So even with the blush creeping up to the tip of his ears-- ]

I guess that.. woudn't be too terrible...

[ That's the closest he can do to agreeing, okay. It's hard for him to express these sort of things out loud. ]

[Naminé, if he couldn't already tell, is ecstatic. Making friends hasn't been too hard for her, but it's still a novel enough idea that it makes her ridiculously happy. Especially when she gets (relatively) blatant confirmation like this.]

I'm at Heropa 33, so you can come visit anytime you like.

Y-you mean like.. hanging out?

[ His surprise isn't because he's expecting anything else. Really. It's just that it's been such a long time by now since he's had something so.. well, normal that it kind of baffles him. He's no good with these kind of things.

Hyunsoo does at least know one thing though - it's only polite to give her his address too then. Tsun or no tsun. He'd feel too much like an asshole if he didn't, Naminé's still too young and pure to be treated that way. ]

Well.. uhh... [ Not that he isn't still awkward. He's just way too flustered. ] I'm not always at the place I got assigned because I stay over at someone else's place a lot, so.. if you want to see me, you can just.. you know. Send me a message or something.

What do you like to do in your free time?

[ Even talking about hobbies feels kind of hard. It's something he left behind so long ago, but admitting that feels.. weird. He awkwardly rubs the back of his head with one hand a little. ]

I used to play soccer, but that's such a long time ago... [ It almost feels like another lifetime at this point. ] In this place I mostly watch movies though. That sort of stuff.

Oh, soccer! Gran plays soccer at his school...

[She cuts herself off at the mention of movies.]

What movies do you like? We could have a movie night at my house some day. I haven't watched many myself, so it'd be the perfect opportunity.

Anything, really. Just nothing too sappy, I guess? [ At least he's.. relatively calm at the mention of a movie night. Mostly since people keep being nice to him here and he's at least starting to get a little more used to it, even though it's weird as well.

Naminé is young and sweet though, so it's a little easier to understand why. This must just be what she's like to anyone. He can deal with that. A little bit. ]

.. and maybe no horror movies either.. N-not that I'm scared or anything! [ Obviously. That's not a shiver of fear in his voice. Totally. ]

[She's immediately starting to warm to the idea.]

Maybe we could have a movie night next month sometime? Since I think this month people will only want to watch horror movies...

Yeah, that sounds like a plan. [ Because if he really gets dragged into a horror movie night he will probably pee his pants before the movie is over. And that'd get really embarrassing. ] Before the Christmas movies kick in, too.

Maybe adventure? Comedy would be fine too-- maybe a roadtrip movie or something like that. [ He pauses for a moment though, thinking if those even.. exist in some other worlds.. but if Naminé knows enough to know about movies and all, then he figures she ought to at least have known that much too. ]
