open | come bury your toes in the sand
WHO: Naminé and friends; open to passersby
WHERE: Beach near Heropa
WHEN: October 15th
WHAT: BEACH PARTY! Feel free to create a new prompt if the ones below don't appeal to you.
WARNINGS: None for now!
It'd taken a lot of last minute scrambling, a lot of runs to the grocery store, and a lot of help from her friends. But as Naminé steps back from the set up, she smiles. Allows herself a little bit of pride in what she's accomplished.
The home tent is where all the food is. Fold up tables have been loaded with an array of sandwiches, finger foods, and drinks, and a cooler nearby has fish and other seafood goodies to be grilled at the bonfire once someone gets hungry for it. This is also where she'll direct friends to drop off snacks and homemade goodies. Please do not sneak any of the chocolate and marshmallows meant for s'mores later.
Close by is the rest area, which is really just a big spread of blankets and a couple fold up chairs on the sand. She doesn't expect everyone to want to stay standing up all day, after all. Naminé knows she's going to be there for a bit, chatting with friends who are visiting, and she may have started a tiny sandcastle and collection of sea shells at the edge of the blankets as well.
The volleyball net and accompanying volleyball are borrowed from a co-worker, so it definitely needs to get back to her in one piece. There's plenty of space for other sports and competitions though...perhaps a game of soccer? And how could anyone ignore the ocean? She and a few others will likely be waist deep in it, learning and practicing how to swim.
Not bad for her first party. Now all she has to do is wait for her guests.

Actually, [He starts, ducking his head down and tilting it towards him, trying to match his gaze into those bright yellow eyes. The face was unrecognizable, and yet recognizable in that alone. Interesting...] I was hoping to have someone to share with.
Do you like fish?

Um...yeah! I do. We cooked it all the time when we camped out - um, me and my friends, that is.
Do you eat like this often?

I haven't in a long time, actually. I used to go with my friends...but we stopped for awhile.
We got busy, I suppose.
But it's nice, being able to with people from here. Everyone's really nice.

He's glad. He's so, so glad that this person doesn't think he's even the slightest bit strange. ]
Oh. Well, you still go to places with them, right? So it's not too bad! [ Friends are still friends, no matter where you go with them. ] You still...get to see each other.
[ Ah...and now he's thinking about Zidane. Zidane, who left at the last moment to save someone that had hurt all of them, because...
...He tries not to think about it any more. He shouldn't be bitter. It's wrong to be bitter, to be hurt, to think that Zidane chose Kuja over everyone else. Over Garnet, Eiko, Freya...
Over him, too. He shakes his head momentarily, to clear the thought out. ]
...Everyone is really nice. Really friendly and helpful, too...even if they think I'm strange. But it's okay! It's pretty fun here. And there's a lot of new things!

You're right.
[Even though Aliea happened, even though that was a dark time for him, they were at least all together. Vivi was right on that, at least.]
Mm. Well, I don't think you're strange, for what it's worth. [Then again, this is the guy who dresses in alien spandex and can shoot stars out of his fingers.] Friendly and open, but not strange.
[The fish is almost done, and he starts to move it from the pan and to two plates.]
Then again, I guess we're all a bit strange, aren't we? Maybe that's what makes us normal.
