WHO: Saitama and Genos
WHERE: Their apartment
WHEN: A million years ago, aka after fighting rampaging Stark suits
WHAT: Genos got a bit broken
WARNINGS: Some talk of broken robot arm and face
[First thing was first when they got back to the tiny apartment: hitting up the toilet. The food poisoning or whatever was still kicking around, and he had to hold back during his fighting. He hadn't been outside for that long, but it was long enough.
Second thing was him coming out and tugging off his poor, burned up clothing to throw away and swap out with another galaxy cat shirt and boxers from the closet. As he does all this, he talks to Genos:]
How you doin'? How's the arm?

How you doin'? How's the arm?

[ Now that they're home, Genos can finally check for malfunctions in his body. The arm seems to be non responsive, and limp. But Genos did not get a warning of structural integrity damage, so it probably got only dislocated. Which can be a serious issue in a fight, but shouldn't be overly difficult problem to fix. ]
Some scratches here and there, but nothing requiring immediate attention, and-oh, this.
[ Yeah he's still clutching the skin flap from his jaw and wondering what to do with it. A glue won't work. Maybe sewing it back in place would do the job? ]
How are you feeling? You don't seem well.
no subject
He sits down on the opposite side of the table from Genos and his...skin flap...]
Better than I was earlier. I must have ate something bad.
[Or he had eaten 2 pounds of chocolate in 2 hours from a gift given to him by a thankful candy shop owner he had saved last night. But it couldn't possibly be that. Which was why he is sticking his hand back into the bag to eat more of what little chocolate was left.]
no subject
[ He grabs his limp arm, while he's talking and attempts to make it work. He stops suddenly as if he got an idea. ]
Sensei, do you have a first aid-kit?
[ He could glue that part of skin with a band-aid ]
no subject
[He says, after shoving 3 tootsie rolls into his mouth, making a wad of chocolate in his cheek. But he gets a little excited about udon, and with Genos around now, longer shopping trips might be less of a chore.]
If we go to one of the other cities we might be able to find the right noodles! But, uh . . . no, I don't. Maybe a neighbor will?
no subject
I'll go buy it later then. Looks like it's true, a first-aid kit is a necessity in every household
no subject
What were you even hoping to fix with a first aid kit??
no subject
I- might need assistance with that, sensei.
no subject
Why'd you take it off in the first place if you were just gonna put it right back on?
[This guy sometimes, he swears to God.]
no subject
The assistance will be required when I'll try to put it back on.
Which is soon.
[ But then he realizes that-- ]
If this makes you uncomfortable, sensei, just say. I'll try and handle it myself [ He might be used to removing limbs, but not everyone might be ]
no subject
Dude, I've carried you back to your doctor's when you were nothing but a head and, like, a quarter of your torso. Your arm sitting on the table ain't a big deal.
[Not to mention all the ways he's taken care of monsters... He is not squeamish about these things.
He watches as Genos messes around with the arm, curious.]
...hey, I'm not a scientist or nothing, but think I can help with that? If you need it.
no subject
I would be grateful for help. Fortunately it's not that complicated. [ Genos grabs the arm and hands it to Saitama ] I don't really see what the issue might be, aside from few scratches, and dents it looks fine. Hopefully it got only dislocated and has to be properly re-hooked.
[ He moves away from the table, along with his chair, so the table won't get in a way. His body was designed with easy customization in mind, but he still find it easier to change hands, than whole arm. There was a reason the ARMSMODE suitcase were a thing for a while, as they allowed him to change weapons without going through bother of unhooking arms. ]

I've also helped with wires at construction jobs.
[That may be an odd statement, but he's thinking in terms of if there's any cut or messed up wires he might be able to repair them. He wouldn't be able to rewire a whole arm, probably, but soldering two broken ends together, sure.]
no subject
[ Now Genos is looking at him very hopefully. Complicated electronic things are not his forte. Which might be unfortunate when your whole body is build from them. But hey, there is no guarantee that a computer programmer could repair a hard-drive or some other busted computer part. Being expert user of hardware, doesn't equal expertise in fixing it. ]
no subject
[He puts the arm joint to the shoulder, and with one hand on each he pushes it in to hook up, his strength making it easy to fit bits together and twist to lock in.]
But otherwise . . . Ah, there we go.
[He let's go of Genos, but as soon as his hands let go the arm drops to the ground heavily.]
no subject
We can check it while connected, I can run diagnostics for that sub-system.
[ Yeah, let's keep it cool, totally. He reaches a bit behind his arm, then under it, unhooking something, but the limb doesn't come off this time. It's part of the bicep plating that does, uncovering some of the machinery and cables underneath. ]
The blue cable is the most important one and it should be fine. Maybe it's something with power transfer?
no subject
[He looks into the mess of cables and such, rubbing his chin. He's never seen it like this (not destroyed and hanging out in a sparking mess) so it's a little fascinating. But in the end he has to conclude:]
I don't know what a power transfer would look like.
[Help him.]
no subject
It should be slotted into port near the top of the arm, if it's not, then that's the source of problem.
no subject
[He pokes around in the wires, finding the right colored one, but having to trace it with fingers through masses of other wires to find its plug. It looks plugged in, but he unplugs it and plugs it back in anyway, like a true guy that knows nothing about electronics would try to do.]
How's that?
no subject
[ Then why can't he move the damn arm at all? If it's not power, than it must be nerve connection somewhere ]
Maybe it's the joint slot that's broken. I'll remove the arm again.
[ By joint slot he means the part that's in his torso. This is looking more and more serious, but hey, no panic! ]
no subject
All right, so what do I look for now?
no subject
[ That doesn't inspire confidence, does it? But he can't really look into his arm much, aside from maybe a glance, so he got only rough idea of how it should look like. ]
It should be all neatly lined up. Very sleek and round, so to say. To ensure full maneuverability of arm. You're looking for dents, or anything that sticks out. Part of the metal frame, loose cables things like that. Since it's partially open joint, there is a small possibility of something getting lodged inside of it, as well.
no subject
He leans in and peers into the socket, one eye closed and one open like that will help somehow. He starts poking around in there, trying to see if there was debris or a broken wire or anything.]
Huh, this is probably kinda gross, isn't it? Like if you poked around in someone's armpity.
no subject
Technically, it's more like if you were poking in someone's open joint, after they lost a limb.
[ Genos, bloody imagery is not going to help ]
no subject
I still think poking at someone's hairy pit would be grosser, though.
[He feels something try to pierce his skin, and makes a short "ah" sound as he picks at it and eventually pulls out a sliver of . . . something. He also notices that whatever it was it caused a metal bit to dent.]
Hey, this might feel weird? Or maybe not. But just in case.
[He takes it in his fingers like he's pinching it, and with a quick twitch he straightens it out.]
no subject
It did feel weird.
[ He confirms. Again, there is a reason that most of maintenance happen on turned off sensory input ]
I'll check if the arm connects now.
