These cold iron rails leave old mossy trails through the countryside
WHO:The residents of Pevensie farm and whoever comes by (might be you!)
WHERE:Pevensie Farm, outside De Chima
WHEN:October
WHAT: Catch All
WARNINGS:Many dogs and a grumpy horse

Autumn has officially fallen and so have much of the leaves around the farm. There's far too many trees around to bother raking them up, if anyone cared to. And the gods know the dogs would make short work of any piles standing around.
In the corner of the compost heap, there's a lot of volunteer pumpkins shooting up, perhaps you should stop by and grab some for the season?
If one passes by in the morning or evening, one might spy smoke coming out of one of the chimneys. Sure, heat was added along with air conditioning, but there's nothing like a fire to make one feel cozy. Be warned-you might get drafted into cutting wood to feed it!

Kel, OTA
[The change in season has made Peachblossom twitchier than his normal grumpiness. He's unlikely to head as far out as De Chima alone anymore, but wandering next to the road, out of sight isn't beyond him. Sometimes he'll slip the gate open and head over to the volunteer pumpkins for a treat and something to do. Bother him at your own risk, he might welcome the change of pace but not in a way you'll like.
Gardening
[Kel has mostly taken over tending to the kitchen garden and is furiously preparing it for winter on what few days she and Lucy aren't working at the office. She doesn't know if she's actually doing this right, but she's going to try. Never mind their food source doesn't actually depend on the garden. But you may find her pitchforking mulch over a bed or scraping up dead leaves to pile on certain things. There is a Lot of dirt.]
Riding
[If you wander the De Chima countryside, you may run into both of them, possibly with Lucy in tow...or not. Kel does consider it important to spend time with Peachblossom on their own, he's the only person she's knows from home.
but she'll say hi if you do]
Or a wild card if these don't ping you!
peachblossom!
As he spots the horse, the Doctor gives him a wave. ]
Wand me to open these for you or do you want to do it yourself?
no subject
At the Doctor's greeting, he wickers in a friendly way and shakes his mane.
Does he look like he has thumbs?]
no subject
[ the Doctor teases, as he opens one of the bags. He sets the other, unopened bag on the ground as he offers the opened bag to Peachblossom. Eat away, buddy. ]
no subject
It tastes bad]

Peachblossom - Late October
no subject
In this instance, he comes barreling around a small hill, throwing up dust and dying grass in his wake.
He hardly notices the two-legger until he's turned at the fence and thundered past...And perhaps it's only coincidence he slows to a canter and then a trot. He's no long distance runner after all]
no subject
Since Peachblossom was slowing down, he let the bag swing around his side and dug into it. A nice ripe butternut squash got pulled out and he just started tossing it from one hand to the other while he casually let his steps swing him closer to the fence.
Daryl let out a short, sharp whistle to try and get the horse's attention.]
no subject
...The squash decides him, and the gelding dips his head over the fence and snorts, swishing his tail.
Sure, now the two-legger shows up]

Gardening!
Is this what you've been spending your free time doing?
no subject
Some of it, yes. I'm learning a new skill.
[She blows a strand of hair out of her face and looks grimly at what's left of th tomato vines]
...Several, even.

What's everything you have growing?

[As evidenced by spreading mulch over it all]

the Twelfth Doctor | ota!
exploring the place
[ It's been ages since the Doctor visited this farm. He visited it before, of course, when the Musketeers still lived here. But it had been months since Athos, Porthos, and d'Artagnan were ported out. So naturally? Things changed. And the Doctor wanted to find out just what those changed things were because he's nosy as sin.
So if you're wandering around the farm, surprise! You might find the local eccentric just looking at a pile of wood and muttering, ] That shouldn't be there [ or looking up at a tree, nodding approvingly. There doesn't seem to be much of a rhyme or reason to the things he's judging: anything from year old trees to day old pumpkins are getting looked over with the same critical eye. ]
hanging with the dogs
[ It's a little bit uncanny how much Cardinal looks like the Doctor. Perhaps that's why the older dog's imprinted on the Time Lord like a little baby duck and is (pardon the pun) dogging his footsteps...which means that Faucon's dogging Cardinal's footsteps and really, it's just a doggy parade as the Doctor attempts to make his way to the horse area.
Thankfully, someone approaches before they can actually get there. And almost instantly, the Doctor turns towards said random person. ]
They do know that horses kick, right? I'm certain the older one does but I don't really know about the lab.
fixing things
[ Did you know that you had an insert-piece-of-technology-here on the farm? Well surprise! You do. Because the Doctor's found a way to take it apart and is now putting it back together, big grin on his face. Hopefully he won't get distracted before he finishes the project. ]
hanging with the dogs
[ Did you think there was a person there? You must have been mistaken. There's only a purple-eyed cat right next to you. ]
no subject
It's a stupid game. What sort of game is 'almost get your head kicked in'?
no subject
They are simple creatures, with scarce more wisdom than newborn kittens, I'm afraid.
no subject
[ Said as he bent down to try and get more eye level to the cat. ] By the way, what language are we speaking?

He comes upon the Doctor judging the ordinary-looking pile of wood, pausing in his walk and too curious not to ask, ] Forgive my intrusion, but is its present location of issue?

fixing things doctor what are u doing
Hawke has only just gotten that thing and there's some old man fiddling with it? Really?! ]
You have about six seconds to put that right back where you found it and turn around. Seventh second and I'll have decided if I want to set you on fire or not, so I suggest you hurry.
[ She didn't come barreling out of the farmhouse after him. No, no, she came lurking up, free of the heralding dogs that would have otherwise announced her presence for her. They're sleeping off their game of "bother the horses", after all. ]
he's helping!!!
Of course, that's because he was using the sonic sunglasses, but details, details. And sorry Hawke, you're about to encounter your all time nemesis: technobabble. ]
The truck's good, but it's a truck. It gets terrible gas mileage, so I was adding in a smaller electric battery that'd take over when the truck's idling or going slow, so you can save the gas for something fast. It reroutes back to the hover mechanics so there's no need to add in an outlet or a plug or anything like that. I might install a tiny solar panel, if I do something with compressed nacelles, that'll juice up everything in no time. Plus, your radio signal's terrible so I boosted the transmitter frequency so that it'd pick up that De Chima Polytech college radio that I like. Also, your truck's now got wifi. The password's "cardinal", but the letter I is a number 1.
[ He then gives Hawke a slightly disgruntled look like 'well? Everything good?' ]
no subject
Probably not a threat?
That in mind, Hawke eventually does speak up again. ]
I only understood the "save gas" part of that and nothing more. Care to try again? [ Use dumber words, maybe? She'll crosses the last few steps to the car, poking her head past him to look in, then look up and him, still frowning. ] And how do you know my dog's name? You can't have picked that password at random.
[ Because, save for Lucy's Rufus, all dogs default to Hawke's. All. ]
