RED HOT CATCH-ALL

WHO: Kyle Conlen [personal profile] redhott and YOU!!
WHERE: All over
WHEN: All October long
WHAT: Nerding and heroing and likely more nerding will be found here
WARNINGS: N/A for now

Give Me that Toot Toot

[ Another window breaks and blows out from the gasses bottling up behind it. The flames quickly lick over the window frame and up toward the roof. Kyle is on the ground floor telling anyone who is not fire responders to vacate the premise and give the rest of them space.

He takes the top floors where the most damage is being caused. Literally born from Hellfire, Kyle is immune to its heat and pain; it would be like a stroll through the park if people's lives weren't on the line. That's what gets him hopping from room to room calling out for any survivors. Eventually he finds one woman barricaded in a supply closet that has yet to feel the heat of the fire closing in. She unlocks the door and stares at him in terror. That's certainly nothing new when facing imminent death. But that's not today. Covering her in a thick blanket, he grabs her under the knees and carries her out of the building where they are both safe on solid concrete. ]

Can someone take her please?

[ He needs to go back in ASAP to find more people. ]

Give You that Beep Beep

[ Fire is one thing. It's easy to be a hero when you have the solution to the problem right at your fingertips. Before had recently turned eighteen, Kyle and his team of junior heroes weren't allowed to do anything more strenuous than search and rescue.

So this gas station hold up is a little out of Kyle's league. It wasn't something he chose, rather with no police on the scene, Kyle knew he had to take action. That action came in the form of a spandex suit, a lot of open palms, and talking as the gunmen kept switching his target from Kyle to the clerk. So, yeah, he's definitely out of his element here, but there's no way he would let this clerk meet a bad fate alone without help. ]

It's the Freakin' Weekend

[ Kyle has found his Nerd Mecca, and it is glorious. Deep in downtown Nonah, he is up to his eyeballs in electronic stores, comic shops, resell shops, all kinds of things that any dork would desire. Several electronic and gaming stores have outside displays and demos to lure in their customers. Some are playing two-player console games, others are playing something called Boogie Boogie Battleground which looks an awful lot like Dance Dance Revolution.

It's fun to watch some of the good kids play for a bit to oohh and ahh over their skills. but eventually, Kyle moves on to get to the good stuff: the comics. He's curious to see if their stock is the same as back home, or maybe he'll find a whole host of new favorites to follow. So he goes browsing through the shelves, picking out a few issues here and there that sound intriguing.

He finds one about mechs that looks interesting. The detail on the robots is incredible, but that's not all that keeps Kyle's blue eyes. Two of the pilots are standing beside the cockpits. The girl is wearing practically nothing—And so is the guy! Seriously, that might as well be body paint... mayeb it is body paint. ]

Holy shit...

'Bout to Have Me Some Fun

[ Maurtia Falls may not be the most friendly city, but it has a booming nightlife and that's what Kyle has come to see, or see from the sidelines. Whichever. All the neon and booming bass from the clubs is enticing, but he's looking for a specific kind.

And boy are they always easy to spot. Rainbow flags line one street left and right, and the clientele is all over the road. This is what he came for. It's mostly gay men, but there are women here and there walking together. Every time he passes a gaggle of them, he can feel the assessment he's getting. It's a little uncomfortable, especially when he's not quite dressed for speculation. He's not conservative by any means, but he sure looks boring in his nice graphic tee and loose jeans. Honestly, his biggest problem right now is finding a club that allows eighteen year olds in. There's usually one or two youth support groups that open up at night for the younger crowd to party responsibly, but it's been a lot of trial and error asking one bouncer after another. ]

[Barnaby softly chuckles.] I said older, mind you, but if you must know, he's actually turning 40 next year.
attainment: (What a kick just a buddy and me)

[He's still an old man in Barnaby's mind, but he likes to have some sense of propriety when talking about Kotetsu to people who don't know them very well.]

I've known him for about three years now. We worked at the same office before the Porter brought us here.
attainment: (has got to change oh yeah)

Cute? [He makes a small amused noise at Kyle's word choice.] I don't know about that...

[Their squabbling drove a lot of people crazy. But that's not why they met here today, and Barnaby leans forward in his seat.]

Let's talk a little more about you, though. You're interested in the ad campaign I messaged you about before, right?

[It's not a subtle change in subject by any means, but Barnaby figures it doesn't need to be.]
attainment: (When I knew which side)

Experience is a plus, but not required by any means. You'll also most likely be appearing alongside other imPorts, if that's alright with you.
