- [ Reverberating with excitement as she hops off the porch, Will's car keys in hands along with a bag of snacks and other things, Sasha can't help herself she finds it exciting that she and Reggie are about to take another impromptu drive somewhere for the heck of it. They don't travel anywhere together save for the usual diners or back and forth between their own houses, so it's a refreshing change of pace to be able to do something different but still fun with him.
It's only fair Reggie gets to decide the destination (if there is one, not that there was the last), but that would have probably happened anyway as Sasha still hasn't learned how to drive. She's glad it isn't up to her anyway — backing over Dorian is fresh in her mind when she glances at Will's car, Jeff's own parked not too far from it. ]
Will said we can take his. He didn't say anything about needing it back right away, so... [ She holds out the keys for Reggie with a big, bright smile on her face. ] We have all night, I think. I brought lots of snacks so we won't get hungry!
[ Sasha gives the bag a shake, it being weighed down with all kinds of food like chips, mini-pretzels, drinks, cookies, but also some healthier options like fruits and carrots and celery. ]

sorry that I'm the worst......
Getting behind the wheel still makes his heart race, his head pound, and palms sweat; images and sounds still flash through his brain, imprinted behind his eyes possibly forever. Why? Reggie resents the way trauma clings to him so tightly, and that's why he's so determined now to start finding more ways to aggressively defy it. ]
All night, huh? Just how far do you think we're going -- driving at night's no picnic, you know. Unless you had other plans.
[ He holds his palm out to collect the keys, running a comb through his hair with his opposite hand. Then he looks from Will's car to Jeff's much nicer one. ]
Huh. Whose car is that?
♥
Yet, somehow, it's less frightening to swing down fifty meter tall walls than it is to fly or drive a car. ]
Where are we going? [ Maybe it might be better to pick a destination, just in case Laurie or Connie ask her where she is. ] My legs will need to stretch and exercise eventually.
[ She follows Reggie's gaze, giving Jeff's car a once-over before reaching for Reggie's hand to try and tug him toward Will's. ]
That's Jeff's. I think he called it a con...verted?

Like I said, I'm not looking to be driving all night. That's practically trucker territory or something.
[ And, gross. He turns his head back toward Sasha, nodding toward Jeff's car. ]
A convertible. Let's take it instead -- see what it's like to drive in real style, for once in your life.

Did you get too much sun today? He's my boss!
[ But the temptation is there in her eyes, the desire to do something she isn't supposed to be doing. With Connie around again, that particular habit of messing around when they aren't being watched is reignited in Sasha properly again. ]
We don't have keys and he might come out any minute...
[ How are they supposed to drive without keys? ]
no subject
Who wants that? ]
Your boss? He's my boss.
[ One of. Reggie leans into the car, running his palm over the interior seats and feeling around under the dash to see if there's a spare key hidden in the car itself; probably not, but you never know. ]
He won't mind. Check inside real quick and see if his keys are in there -- but it's fine, maybe we don't need them.
[ He's never done anything like hotwire a car before, but that's probably on google or something? ]

[ Sasha still works at the animal shelter, too, so her time is split as evenly as possible between the two. If she had known Reggie was also working for Jeff she would have frantically contacted him every time she deleted a message from the phone or did something strange to the computer.
But that isn't important anymore, not when she considers Reggie's point. She leans over the car, reaching out to touch the seats herself and gasps lightly at how comfortable they feel. Not even the couch in her apartment feels this nice. ]
Jeff is pretty cool for an adult... only Will, April and Jeff let me do what I want. [ Surely, he won't mind, right? She puts down the bag of snacks, glancing over her shoulder. ] I can find the keys.

[ Reggie shrugs dismissively, not really in the mood to talk about work even if he was the one who introduced the semi-tangent; their paths don't cross, but maybe that's for the best. Working with your girlfriend seems like it'd be like working for your parents or something -- too suffocating, in a way. Besides, knowing Sasha, and also knowing himself, no work would actually end up getting done.
Then he glances back over at her, running his hand over the car's hood to familiarize himself with the way a car like this feels, a grin on his face. ]
Seriously? Atta girl, I knew I liked you for a reason. [ Joking, obviously! But, he was hoping she'd say that; she can teleport, after all. ] Should I wait out here?
no subject
I'm really sneaky, you know. If Connie were here he could vouch for how good I am.
[ She nods then and without saying another word, vanishes into thin air. It's about almost a couple of minutes later she reappears in the same spot, dangling what look like keys to the car between her fingers before Reggie.
Sasha grins, proud of herself for retrieving the keys unseen. Before handing them to Reggie, she pulls them just out of his reach and over her head, still grinning from ear to ear. ]
What's the magic word?

Waiting mostly patiently while Sasha's gone, Reggie's taken the liberty of jumping over the door and seating himself in the driver's seat by the time Sasha reappears. He makes a couple attempted grabs at the dangling keys. ]
Come on. [ Now he's impatient, though just a little bit. If they're going to be driving, though, better for it not to be in the dark. ] I knew you could do it...?! We're too old for magic words, Sasha.
[ A boy nearly impossible to wrench a "please" out of. ]
no subject
That's not it. [ She grins again at him. ] If you aren't going to say it then I guess I'll have to put these back...
[ Jeff won't notice the keys have been gone a few minutes, she's sure. Not that she actually plans to return the keys so soon; she's having fun bothering Reggie with this. ]
no subject
Come on, Sasha, we gotta get going if we don't wanna miss daylight completely. Quit playing around!
[ Another huff, leaning his arm against the seat's back. ]
What're you trying to prove, anyway?
no subject
It's not a big deal if the car has working lights, right?
[ Although she isn't driving the car, so she doesn't have much of an idea of how terrifying driving at night can be, especially when you've run over an animal in the dead of night already... ]
If you're not going to say "please" you're going to have to cook me lunch for a week.
[ She circles around the car to hop into the passenger's side, double-checking her bag of snacks (and pulling out a small bag with mini-pretzels). ]
no subject
No one likes driving in the dark, Sasha.
[ He says it like, duh, then waves her over impatiently to get into the car already, even as she's on her way. ]
It'd be your funeral. Do you like macaroni? Wait, what am I saying... [ Of course she does. ] Why should I say please for something you were already gonna do? You don't need to mess with me, too.
no subject
You would make macaroni for me?!
