Kel, OTA
[Fall is coming, and with it comes the putting a garden to sleep before the frost hits. Kel has never done this herself, but she is armed with books and the internet and a lot of observing farmers back home, she will prevail. This does involve a lot of her on her knees in dirt and perhaps some muttering. Occasionally, she’ll glance at a corner of the garden and shake her head. If you have any ideas on how literal out of this world plants can be dealt with, she’s open to ideas.]
Peachblossom
[The gelding totally has a social life now, and periodically walks down the road to De Chima outskirts to see if he can mooch food off unsuspecting bystanders, or spot someone he tolerates enough for a ‘conversation’. If you’re a farm visitor, you might find him wandering around the pastures, snorting at the leaves turning colors. Fall. What a weird thing.]
Baking
[Kel is not as useless as she was when she first arrived back in February, but she’s still got a long way to go before she can be consistent. Coming into the kitchen, one might be greeted with smoke and a LOT of swearing on the…private aspects of Mithros. Hopefully he doesn’t mind much.]
[Or a wildcard option!]
Peachblossom; farm; mid-September
Which meant he needed to use the time he had before they came on again telling his one animal friend to keep his distance. If Daryl couldn't fight the urge, he didn't want it to be at one of the random times he saw Peachblossom.
He swallowed his fear and guilt and headed out to the farm on his De Chima bike. The noise announcing his presence long before he came into view on the drive.]

But when the man does, Peachblossom will...not WICKER, but make a less than grumbling noise in greeting]

Daryl got close enough that he could stretch his arm out and feed his favorite asshole. But not get so close he risked giving into his urge to try and pet the guy. He was feeling just out of sorts and depressed enough that he was sorely tempted to bury his head against Peachblossom's neck and try to pretend the world didn't exist anymore. He didn't do hugs, really, but damn if he didn't need one.
Just he knew Peachblossom wasn't the sort for it. And it was better that way, anyway. Keep his distance. Make it so it was harder for the horse to come at him if he got mad over anything Daryl had to say.]
Hey. Said I'd come see you, didn't I?
no subject
He's trying this 'polite' thing, maybe. Just the once.]
no subject
[Daryl snorted down some air, doing his level best not to look like he felt. Ready to break down. He couldn't do that. He had people that needed him and he'd already spent damn near a week avoiding them. At least with Peachblossom, the guy had other people and could depend on them. Daryl was just another human passing through his life.
He handed over another peach half.]
Kel still treating you right?
no subject
Reaching out to sniff the next slice, he eyes Daryl. The man smells of exhaustion sweat and....blood. Surprised, Peachblossom pulls his head back, snorting a bit to clear his nostrils and get a better taste of that.]

baking omg kel stop burning the house down
Where is it?! [ One hand held up, magic -- in the form of blue light -- already gathered and prepared to become ice if need be. ] What's... burning?
[ But it's only Kel and whatever she has in the oven, apparently. Oops. ]
no subject
Mithros' sack, DOG-!
[She spots Hawke and sighs-coughs]
Something spilled, I'll clean it.
no subject
[ As long as she doesn't need to buy even more new appliances. Ones that certain parties will never use now, but she won't say as much. It'd only be depressing. So, instead she steps the rest of the way through the door, closing out the other two trailing dogs before they can barge on in after Faucon.]
What are you making?
no subject
Kel continues to wave the smoke out and almost doesn't answer....]
.......Pizza.
no subject
Wait. Did you say... pizza?

I don't think I let it rise enough.

Peachblossom!
He approaches the animal with no fear of being bitten or stepped on and stares up at him. ]
You must be Peachblossom.

More Immortals?]

It is supremely unlikely that you have encountered anything like myself.

You smell of home and magic]

closed to Kasumi;
In this case, she's out in the stable, checking on the horses. Dane, even larger and furrier than the last time Kasumi would have seen him, trails along after, quiet and not at all bothering the other, far bigger animals in there. ]
I suppose we should let them out into the field for a bit. [ Mostly talking to the dog, of course. Hawke herself is friendly with the horses, but they aren't really her thing. ] It's not like I'm going anywhere and Kel can chase them back in later...
no subject
But. It wouldn't be so bad to get away from everything and wind down at a place like this, she thinks.
In spite of their earlier conversation, Kasumi does show up in a hooded coat and looking generally out of place, because of course she does. When she can't seem to get a response out of any of the doors or windows at the farm house, she decides she probably ought not to try and break in... she's pretty sure one of the ladies that lives here is the ambassador, so. Yeah. Probably shouldn't break in. So she takes to wandering around the grounds, instead, in search of Hawke and yes, invisibly. Call it a force of habit.
She somewhat recognizes a bark that she's almost certain sounds like Dane's, and it leads her to the stable, where she does find Hawke. Kasumi's (appropriately outdoorsy) boots make no sound on the grass and dirt, but she does drop out of her cloak. ]
Wow, look at you. You fit right into this scenery, Hawke.
no subject
The horses shift around uncomfortably at the sudden appearance, but it's only another person. They'll settle. Dane, however, leaps to his feet and, after two seconds of deciding "friend or foe", resolves to "friend" (he knows that smell!) and takes off bounding over to Kasumi. Hawke turns to watch him go, but doesn't move from where she was, instead giving her a vaguely amused look. ]
It's the flannel, isn't it? [ Probably. ] I did grow up out in what you'd call the countryside, you know. You could say it's a natural setting.
no subject
Kasumi makes sure her feet are firmly on ground as she watches Dane run on over, lest she get toppled by the dog who is--wow, definitely way bigger than the last time she's seen him. With a smile, she holds her hand out for Dane to sniff before giving him a few pats on the head. ]
The flannel definitely helps, [ something Kasumi can still appreciate, thankfully ] but I just meant that you look pretty at home here.
no subject
I imagine I'd look at home anywhere that I'm actually able to stay put at. [ Hawke's definitely not look forward to life on the run again, whenever she goes home, one day, some day. She gives the closest horse one final pat on the nose and leaves off letting them out for now, stepping away. ] Didn't have too much trouble finding the place, did you?
no subject
[ She shrugs. Powers are so weird. ]
So, are you going to give me a grand tour before we chat, or?
