[Kel has settled into a routine now, and it’s starting to show. She is easily found on the road to De Chima, on her way to or from work, or accompanying Lucy to her duties as Ambassador. Perhaps she’s in one of the many parks meditating to pass the time, if so, her gelding Peachblossom will probably not be far away. He’s been clever about getting out, so it’s better he’s close to keep an eye on, AND SHE HAS HIM UNDER CONTROL, YES THANK YOU.

…If Peachblossom wants something from you, he may start tapping his hoof impatiently.
For those with previous appointments, Kel can be found at the Pevensie farm, ready and willing to spar. Or maybe just grab one of the horses for a ride, who doesn’t love trail rides?]

[It occurs to Kel that this woman in front of her is not her old comrade that she can joke about finding a private haystack with. But if she can't say things clearly then this will end very quickly in tears.

...Besides, they both have bedrooms with more privacy than a haystack]

I think we should be quite clear on where we're headed once indoors. And how far.

[Lucy's blush is immediate.]

I should think your bedroom, as it does not share a wall with Hawke's, do you not agree?

Goddess yes please, and if we use the kitchen stair she might not even hear us coming in.

[Pausing to send a BRIEF prayer to Sakuyo that she can pull this trick off and not that she would be tricked in turn by Hawke, Kel tightens her grip on Lucy's hand and pulls her around the side of the house and through the kitchen door]

[She peers up the stairs.]

I fear the dogs may wake.

[It's Rufus they need to worry about, he's the one most likely to start a barkfest.]

[Kel stares upwards as well, turning options over in her head]

I can...probably order him quiet if we see him first...

[It's the afterwards, and with Chubrub happy to see her, and locking them both out of the room...or worse, leaving them IN...

Suddenly that haystack makes quite a lot more sense.]

[ Their first mistake was assuming Hawke is upstairs and asleep. Their second mistake is both focused on those stairs, because it leaves the kitchen behind them wide open.

Third mistake, whispering loudly enough to encourage the person assumed sleeping upstairs to be quiet when she enters the kitchen through the first floor entrance, as she had been sleeping, but it had been on the couch. ]

What are we looking for?

[ Comes the interruption from right behind them, Hawke leaning in to join in the trying to be quiet and look up the stairs party. ]

Ghosts? Is it ghosts? I bet it's ghosts.

[Lucy lets out a very unladylike scream of surprise, then grips her chest as she staggers back a bit. Hawke. Hawke you have aged her.]

By the Lion's paw, you startled me!

[Kel does not scream, but she does rather levitate about three inches in the air before pushing Lucy behind her to face the-

-not threat exactly. Sakuyo must be laughing.]

...No. Just the dogs. Didn't want to wake anyone.

[Her voice is not squeaking, that's an illusion]

The dogs? The dogs are asl-- [ Well, not anymore. Lucy's scream has them all flooding into the damn kitchen now. ] ...all definitely awake.

What are you two doing sneaking around, anyhow?

[ The suspicion is a bit hard to avoid. It's not as if anyone here would be upset if they got woken up by late night comings and goings. ]

[She opens her mouth, and the closes it.]

We were not sneaking! We simply did not wish to wake the-oh, yes, hello precious, I do love you as well-

[Kel hides her wince as she kneels to greet Chubrub and yes she isn't gone forever and yes still loves him. Wryly, she wonders what would be the best thing to say to make Hawke MORE suspicious, since less probably isn't possible at this moment.]

It's just been too long a day, we were trying to avoid the deluge.

[ But who would want to avoid dogs? Who?! ]

I suppose. [ Though Hawke is aware that not everyone is her. ] Seems to have backfired a bit, though.

Oh, well, it would not have, if I had not screamed. My apologies.

[Kel stands up and taps her thigh so Chubrub knows to follow]

Just so. Since it did, I'll just be to bed. Good night.

[She shoots a very quick glance at Lucy before heading up the stairs, Chubrub flopping at her heels.]

[ They can come and go as they please, but the way Kel seems so intent on hurrying away does get Hawke raising her eyebrows a bit. ]

You've already had dinner, then? There's still leftovers in the fridge.

[ The new fridge, the one they have to match their now lovely and new electricity (on the first floor, anyway). ]

Oh, yes, I ate at the office, thank you-

[She's scooting up the stairs, little flashing lights guiding her way.]

[Kel has quickly and quietly slipped into the bathroom, going through all the cleaning rituals everything is normal we are all Fine here nothing to see. Chubrub is laying outside the door and thumps his tail when Lucy comes up the stairs]
