[Under normal circumstances, Alison Hendrix would be appalled that she has been ported back in this (comparably) grungy state - obvious dirt stains on her pants, one dead leaf tangled in her hair, and some unexplained grime under her fingernails - but she has more important things on her mind.

Namely the loud gurgling broadcasting from her belly and the inevitable "flood" that is about to follow.

So she hoofs it over to the closest door and knocks desperately.]

Hello! I'm... I need your help!

[And she mutters to herself, under her breath, as she continues knocking:]

Johnny Applesauce, this is a nightmare and a half...

[It's going to be a long day on her trek back to Heropa 31.]

Cleaning the bejeezus out of Heropa 31

[Some might argue that if a person has the power to clean an entire room doing nothing more than thinking hard about it, that would be the best way to proceed. But as much as Alison makes use of her power, there's always some niggling doubt in her mind that maybe the cleaning is still sub-par in a way it couldn't be if she put in the time and effort to actually clean. Besides, spending the time to do something as simple and ordinary as cleaning is a little therapeutic, after everything she's just been through.

She starts in the common areas and goes so far as to scrubbing the hallway-facing sides of her housemates' doors. And if her housemates have left a few personal items lying around, well, Alison has no doubt found a new and better home for them.]

Wait, what? Alison, we need to tell her. The more she knows, the more prepared she'll be.

You and I both know that anything we do here doesn't have any effect on what's going on back home! It's not going to prepare her for anything, it'll just make her have another panic episode.

[Cosima sighs dramatically, throwing her hands up in the air in almost defeat. Alison is stubborn. If Alison insists on a plan it usually happens, unless Sarah intervenes. Unfortunately Sarah won't be able to help Cosima win this argument.]

So we keep her in the dark? How would you feel if we kept something like this from you?

It's not like we know anything for sure anyway! Maybe she just hasn't found you yet.

[But even as she's saying it, she knows she doesn't really believe it. Anytime Sarah goes out anywhere on a "mission", it's fraught with danger. Who knows what's happened and where she is?]

[Cosima definitely doesn't believe it and the annoyed look she shoots Alison makes that clear. Cosima doesn't even know exactly where she is, but she's certain it's not where Sarah is looking for her. If Sarah was going to find her, she'd go to the creepy mansion/lab she'd been staying in before things went wrong. And she won't find Cosima there. She'll find trouble.]

And she's not going to! I'm nowhere she's looking. I'm not even sure where I am. What's the danger in telling her? She's going to find out eventually.

Cosima, what happened to you anyway? Last thing I heard was that you'd found a cure, but then suddenly Sarah couldn't get a hold of you anymore.

[And once again she was completely cut off from the action, huddled away in Helena's makeshift hut eating deer stew.]

Susan bailed on her end of the deal. She wants to get the cloning program up and running again and now she has the means to do it. Charlotte and I had to get out of there, it wasn't safe anymore.

She's going to restart the cloning program? Oh my Lord...

[Cosima reaches a hand out, reassuringly rubbing at Alison's shoulder. She's not trying to upset her sister, but Cosima doesn't want to keep Alison in the dark. Everyone deserves to know what's going on.]

Hey, hey. I said she wants to try. Doesn't mean she'll succeed.

[After letting it sink in a little, Alison finds that rather than just being upset, she's furious at this new development. Why in God's name would that crazy woman want to inflict this kind of life on more innocent people?]

Haven't she done enough already? What is wrong with her?!

[Cosima's at a loss for what to say. She's angry too, was angry as she learned more and more about what their creators did, but she had also been living in that world while working on the cure. There were parts of the science Cosima had to use to help them. Cosima hasn't drunk the kool-aid again, she's not going to say that another cloning program is something that she wants or approves us, but her anger has dulled. She knows Susan the person, not just Susan their creator.]

... It's complicated. I don't agree with her, but it's very, very complicated.

[Alison will not be deterred from her righteous fury.]

How "complicated" is it to realize that what they're doing is completely unethical? People have died because of this stupid cloning project, Cosima!

... I don't know if it helps, but I've made it clear to her how unethical it is. She's aware. I just don't think she cares. I mean, she cares about us, but not ethics.

[Good job, Cosima. That will surely calm Alison down.]

I just want you to be healthy, and Sarah and her family to be safe for once, and for my home life to be normal, and Helena to not have her twin babies in the middle of an effing forest! Why is that so much to ask?!

We'll get there, okay? We've got a cure now. That's a good start. And we're going to do everything we can to make sure all of our families are safe.
