[Under normal circumstances, Alison Hendrix would be appalled that she has been ported back in this (comparably) grungy state - obvious dirt stains on her pants, one dead leaf tangled in her hair, and some unexplained grime under her fingernails - but she has more important things on her mind.

Namely the loud gurgling broadcasting from her belly and the inevitable "flood" that is about to follow.

So she hoofs it over to the closest door and knocks desperately.]

Hello! I'm... I need your help!

[And she mutters to herself, under her breath, as she continues knocking:]

Johnny Applesauce, this is a nightmare and a half...

[It's going to be a long day on her trek back to Heropa 31.]



Cleaning the bejeezus out of Heropa 31

[Some might argue that if a person has the power to clean an entire room doing nothing more than thinking hard about it, that would be the best way to proceed. But as much as Alison makes use of her power, there's always some niggling doubt in her mind that maybe the cleaning is still sub-par in a way it couldn't be if she put in the time and effort to actually clean. Besides, spending the time to do something as simple and ordinary as cleaning is a little therapeutic, after everything she's just been through.

She starts in the common areas and goes so far as to scrubbing the hallway-facing sides of her housemates' doors. And if her housemates have left a few personal items lying around, well, Alison has no doubt found a new and better home for them.]

Things are...

[ She doesn't know what to say, really. Everything was shit when Alison and Cosima were missing, and then Sarissa interrogated Cosima's girlfriend at gunpoint, and then George left. Finally she settles on, ] Things have been better.

Did something happen?

[coppelganger]

Uh, well Sarissa got it in her head that Cosima's girlfriend had murdered you both, and she went over to their place with a gun ready to interrogate her.

[subourbon]

She did what?! Oh my Lord, is Clara okay?

[coppelganger]

She's fine. I was there to keep things from getting too crazy.

[ But seriously, you know it's bad when Sarah is there to be the voice of reason.

She sighs, then, and adds in what she's hoping will go over as a kind of unnoticed afterthought, because she really doesn't want Alison making a huge deal over this: ] George is gone.

[Alison has survived years in the suburbs by zeroing in on information that people have tried to pass off as an afterthought, so no dice.]

Gone? Like how Cosima and I were gone?

[coppelganger]

Yeah. Like he's just gone.

[subourbon]

It could be just temporary, Sarah. Maybe he'll be back in a few days.

[She does her best to sound convincing and comforting, but she's not sure Sarah will buy it.]

[coppelganger]

He has nothing to update to.

[subourbon]

[Oh. Right. George is technically dead.]

... let's not jump to any conclusions, okay?

[coppelganger]

Okay.

[ She's not going to argue about it, even though she feels in her heart that he's really gone. ]

[subourbon]

[Alison sees the expression on her sister's face, and as much as she just wants to go back to her own room and sleep, she doesn't want to leave Sarah alone like this.]

Did you want one of us to stay and keep you company for now?

[coppelganger]

Come on, I'll be alright.

[ She manages a tired smile and squeezes Alison's shoulder. ]

I'm really glad you're back, Alison. [ It's the truth. When she, Cosima, and Alison are separated like that, everything just seems wrong. Having Alison back with them gives Sarah an odd stability. ]

[subourbon]

[Alison is neutral on being back - at least she gets a clean bed again - but she appreciates the sentiment and even leans in to give Sarah a quick hug.]

Well, I'm just happy to see you again--

[Suddenly a look of horror crosses her face as she remembers...]

Oh Lord, is everything okay with the event planning business?!

[coppelganger]

[ Sarah hasn't spared a thought for Alison's business aside from the times she stopped by places she thought Alison might be, looking for her. The expression on her face goes from "the what?" to "oh, right, shit" pretty quickly. ]

Y'know, I bet Felix has been keeping up with that.

[subourbon]

[Of course the event planning business is small potatoes compared to what's going on back home. But, well, they're the only potatoes she's got here.]

I... need to make some phone calls.

[coppelganger]

Are you gonna be okay going home? I can drive you.

[subourbon]

Do you mind? It would really help me out.

[coppelganger]

I don't mind.

[ She grabs her car keys and a jacket, mostly for appearances, since it is August and all. ]

[subourbon]

[And being Alison, she can't help herself from commenting.]

... are you sure you're not going to overheat in that?

[coppelganger]

I'm sure.

[ Not really, but. Whatever. She motions for Alison to follow her out to the cab and locks the front door behind them. ]

[subourbon]

[Alison takes a delicate sniff when she settles into the cab, but decides not to comment since she isn't exactly Febreze-worthy herself.]

I can't wait to take a shower.

[coppelganger]

[ Excuse you, Sarah's cab smells delightful. Or at least not as awful as it could. ]

So... you guys and Helena were just living out in the woods? [ She's still having a hard time picturing that. ]

[subourbon]

[Alison probably had a harder time living it.]

She's been out there for at least a month, Sarah. The important thing is she's cooking her meat thoroughly so those two precious packages in her belly should be fine.

[coppelganger]

[ Okay, this is just Too Much. Sweet she can handle. Angel, sure, it fits Helena's whole thing. But this has gone on long enough. ]

Right, can you maybe never use the word "precious" again?
