WHO: Rita and anyone and everyone
WHERE: The library and around the housing district in Maurtia Falls
WHEN:All throughout august. 
WHAT: Rita goes exploring in the interests of science. Things explode.  Will add more starters as the month goes along. 
WARNINGS: Rita being Rita

[A. Library 

The Aspio mages had acknowledged Rita as a 'seeker' of truth for a very good reason. Rita didn't hesitate to charge forth into the unknown, for the sake of learning more. She lived through a world without blastia and found all sorts of solutions to it. She'd figure out how to live in this advanced world too and beat it at its own game when it came to science and technology. But this drive to know more meant she did have a tendency to go...well...overboard.

When you find her in the library (and you can't miss her, she tends to stand out quite a bit despite being incredibly short for someone her age), she's either:

1) Floating around to the very tops of the shelves, grabbing books she's too short to reach. Don't mind if in her eagerness she knocks something off the shelf, sending it flying off as a deadly projectile. 

2) Reaching for a book you're reaching for at the same time. Back off buddy, that's hers.

3) In a small argument with the poor librarian near closing time. ]

What do you mean, I can only check out eight at a time? How is anyone suppose to do any study with so few books?!

[Someone stop this child]

[B. Some shady street. 

Like any good scientist, Rita needs a workshop. Fortunately, she's scouted out a pretty good place. Unfortunately, she needs a bit more furniture before she's ready to do any experiments. But fortunately once more, it looks like she wont have to spend any money at all to furbish it. 

If you're brave enough to venture out into shady places, you'll find Rita alongside a shopping cart with all sorts of odds and ends. She's standing near a desk that had been dumped on the street corner and seems to be studying it curiously. It's a...very colourful table. Butterflies and flowers printed all over and all sorts of cartoons that Rita doesn't care to identify. Maybe you can approach her to see what on earth she's doing. .]

Guess this could work.

[C. Maurtia Falls #005 - closed to housemates/neighbours/anyone with a reason to be nearby to hear the commotion. 

So housemates, if you haven't noticed the new addition that arrived roughly three weeks ago, well. That's because she's been all but camping out at the library or holed up in her room reading. But she's good with reading now. All the theory is in her head and now it's time to put it into practice. 

When you wake up Sunday morning, you'll notice various things. Namely, the banging. Then the odds and ends scattered down the hall way - things that originally belonged to the basement. If you look closely at the basement door, you'll see a hastily scribbled sign reading:

 

KEEP OUT. - Mordio

 

Any attempts to open the basement door will only end with an angry shout of "I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO STAY OUT" and a fireball to the face, so in the interests of personal safety, it's probably best to leave things be. There are better things to be investigating Sunday morning anyway. Things like "what should I have for breakfast?"

Everything with breakfast should go well until you realise there's one very important thing missing: the microwave. Another thing a certain knight will eventually realise is also missing is a very important piece of his armor.

It doesn't take long before the banging from the basement stops. The peace that emerges only lasts five minutes before

KABOOM.

It's a very peaceful Sunday morning.]

[ sasaki quite enjoys the library, being a book nerd and all, so it's not weird to find him roaming through the shelves, picking up books only to flip through their pages before he decides that's not the one he will take today. He has already chosen two for the week, and a third one could work as long it was short, and that's his missing right now.

Maybe poetry-

And suddenly a book falls right on top of his head. Good thing he is a ghoul or that would have hurt a lot more but he is quick to reach for his head and drop the books on his hands ]

O-ouch...

w-what? [ he looks up and that sure is a floating girl ]

[Correction: a cranky floating girl. Rita doesn't seem to mind having potentially knocked someone out (if that someone had been less durable) and she sets her pile of books up on a shelf while reaching for some more]

Stupid organising system...can't they put all the important stuff where it's easy to reach?

[sorry bud. Rita doesn't seem to have noticed you just yet]

[ Sasaki reaches for the book that fell, and then for his own; he takes a glance at the title, wondering for a second what is it about, before he rises the book ]

Hey- you dropped this.

[It's an extremely heavy book on physics, which, Rita actually needs so she floats back down to take it]

Oh. I needed that.

[Yuri doesn't bother to run because he's known Rita too long, and he's had too much exposure to be alarmed. He walks over from next door, let's himself in with the key Flynn made for him, and pokes his head through the basement door.]

Does the explosion mean it worked or didn't work?

[Smoke and sparks waft up from the charred microwave. Rita picks up a fire extinguisher and sprays it down. Hmm...maybe too much power. Despite the explosion, Rita seems pleased with the results and adds some indecipherable notes on the chalk board behind her]

I'm working on it.

[Oh wait. She picks up a vial of radioactive-looking green liquid from a rack, puts a stopper in it and tosses it Yuri's way]

Try this for me.

[Yuri catches it, looks at it. Makes a face.]

Hell no.

[blahblahboom]

It's not going to kill you.

[The green liquid bubbles ominously]

Maybe.

[Why are you like this, Yuri.]

If it's exploding, I don't think we can call it a success.

[protagerrant]

She's exploded plenty of things on purpose.

Not in our house. I'll be borrowing your microwave for a few days.

[ And here is a very unimpressed Mikleo. He's stayed in the library for hours at a time, has already taken upon himself to read dozens and dozens of books here, so it doesn't take him long to intervene after hearing her argue with the clerk at the front desk. ]

You could always read however books you need to read here.

[Have a suspicious squint from Rita because in her experience, guys with long white hair are always problems. And also because, who the heck are you???]

[ Oh, so she can see him after all. ]

You don't seem to be listening to the other person, though.

[Why does she feel like people are looking at her strangely. Ugh. She was going to have to punch someone.]

It's not my fault the way libraries work in this world make no sense. What kind of library closes at 8pm?

[Is Flynn flustered about the explosion? Yes, at least a little. But that's coming in second place to his more pressing concern, and he's perfectly willing to ignore the sign and open the basement door for his compelling just cause:]

Rita, have you seen my pauldron?

[No one misplaces just one pauldron. For that matter, Flynn doesn't misplace anything, ever, really.]

Didn't I say to stay out?!

[Rita fumes, and picks up a round piece of metal hanging off the bench to fling at Flynn's face. Apparently her arm strength extends to being able to throw heavy things with unerring accuracy, despite the thick haze of smoke obscuring her view]

[Thanks to the thick haze of smoke and his own trusting heart, he totally doesn't see the projectile coming. It thwacks into his forehead and he winces and catches it before it drops to the ground.

Ow, Rita.

[The hit to the head is maybe making him ask obvious questions.]

[Flynn has just wandered by the library with the extremely mundane intent of returning/renewing a few books. It somehow hasn't occurred to him (because he really hasn't thought this through) that of course Rita would still be camping the library, having not yet moved on to terrorize new and exciting locations. Surely no harm will come to him on this boring and unremarkable errand.]

[It's just as well Flynn enters just as Rita is about to leave. She comes to a halt, the scowl on her face vanishing into a more thoughtful look]

Are you done with those books?

Most of them. I'm renewing this one.

[He smiles over at Rita in greeting, kind of pleased that she looks almost happy to see him. Friendship sure is progressing well.]

Did you find what you were looking for?

[Well, Leon had been having a peaceful morning... mostly. He hadn't slept in or anything, despite having a day off— he was never much of a sleeper honestly. But he'd been on the couch in the living room, reading a book or whatever, when he'd heard the explosion.

From their basement.

He sighs and heads down to the door. Maybe this was something that new girl was doing? He'd barely talked to her.]

Is everything alright?

[It's a good thing Rita is close to finishing up, or this might end badly. She's adding more notes to her book in some indecipherable language and she glances up, a little confused until she manages to place his face. Oh. Random housemate. She looks back down at her work and continues on]

Why wouldn't it be?

[Just don't mind the flames still flickering from the microwave.]

[Well, it's a good thing she seems flippant, at least— okay, no. It just makes him mildly irritated, especially when he notices that the microwave is still on fire.]

Look at the microwave.

[It's said with a slightly acidic tone— this probably wasn't the best situation to be properly meeting someone under... oh, well.]
