Are you an interesting person?? Or a famous one?? Kara Danvers wants to talk to you! Or, well, she doesn't really, not that she doesn't think you're interesting, it's just that she has this job to do as a professional gossiper. So...are you seeing anyone? Anything else noteworthy going on? You look nice today! ...can she write that down? Someone have mercy on this terrible member of the gossip column community.
Midair: Off we go into the wild blue yonder
She might be introducing herself as Kara Danvers Zor-El now, and she might be a little freer about using her powers in public—she glows now, it isn't as though she can hide in plain sight anymore—but there's still something about the blue and red that makes her feel like she's out there making a difference. Look for the red cape crossing the sky as Supergirl patrols, looks and listens for trouble, and maybe gets a little distracted just enjoying the freedom of the sky. She might give you a ride if you're in the mood!

@viced
No she isn't, she's terrible at it. She knows what makes good gossip—it would be hard to work for Cat Grant for as long as she has and not pick up a few things—but she doesn't like gossip, and thinks celebrities (and imPorts) should have the chance to just live their lives like anyone else. This point of view hasn't exactly impressed her editor, though, and neither have the pieces she's turned in that have a decidedly cheerful tone.
If you can't dig up anything here, try somewhere else, Danvers! Which puts her in De Chima, the town most interested in imPort gossip. It's been a busy and mostly unsuccessful morning, and she's taking a break from trying to be nosy, picking up an English toffee latte in a coffee house when she spots a familiar-ish face. "Mr. Hundred?" Maybe he doesn't want to be bothered, it occurs after she's said hello already, but she's been bothering people all morning, why stop now? "Hi, it's Kara! Kara Danvers Zor-El. We met at the Gala? Before, um, everything started happening."
no subject
He'd been fine, until she introduced herself. Pretty brazenly -- and Mitchell Hundred -- who'd actually been drinking a very hot black coffee with about six shots of espresso in it -- he was very unhealthy -- stopped, and the coffee just sort of leaked vaguely out of his mouth, his head tipped, and Kara would likely hear a jump-start in his heartbeat, before he finally caught himself, and turned.
Coffee leaking awkwardly out of his mouth. "Motherfucker --" he took a moment, to stop mopping up the mess from his face, his hands -- oh his shirt was fucked, but...he could at least try to look like he knew what he was doing. "Sorry -- ah --" he put the wad of very wet, very dark paper napkins on a counter. "Nice to see you again -- I, you caught me by surprise."
no subject
...which is entirely the reaction of Kara Danvers, PA, it's what she would have done for Cat, or any of the Catco board members, or most of the other people who paraded through Cat's office, but she isn't at home, she isn't even an assistant right now, and her glow turns distinctly pinker as she jumps back like she's been scalded.
"Um. Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you," she says instead, sweeping the wet napkins automatically into a nearby garbage can and giving the counter a quick wipe with the rest of the dry stack. "Can I get you another coffee? I'm really sorry, how do you take it?"

@tardily
And obviously as soon as he lets her know he's moving, she's planning on visiting his new house to give him a housewarming present. Even if he's only moving down the street a few houses. But this box of fresh-made doughnuts from the Lucky Cat Cafe is a surprise. She flies them over, self-conscious in jeans and a sweater and not her costume—she isn't used to just being herself all the time yet—and it only takes a few seconds to stare into the house and find Barry's room. He's just sitting the bed and it's weird to see Barry so...motionless. But that'll change in a second or two, right? No knocking on the front door this time, she glides down and hovers outside his window, tapping lightly on the glass and grinning, holding up the box. Hi Barry :D
no subject
It's because of that and other reasons that Barry finds himself in his room more often than he's used to being there and he happens to be reading before he feels like something's off and he hears the tapping. When he looks up he ends up dropping the book and zooms over to the window before opening it.
"Too cool for the front door, Kara?"
no subject
It's still so nice to see him looking at her and knowing her as her, and she knows him as him, and not some other version. It feels like they're just about the only two, sometimes. She's making new friends here, a lot of them, but she still feels a little homesick sometimes. Barry's a part of home, though.
She extends the box, grinning. "I know you didn't move that far, but you still deserve a housewarming present." Her own glow is fairly bright, and she hasn't really noticed yet that Barry isn't as sunshiny as he should be. Maybe the sunlight will come back.

However, as it is he does, so he calls out when she's close enough. "Sunshine!" Waiting to have her attention, he continues. "More your element than the ice, eh?"
no subject
She veers off her slow flight course and circles back around to touch down several feet in front of him. "I guess the glow is a giveaway," she admits with a little helpless shrug. "Hi."

It would have to be a really slow news day for Kara to interview him. But it's actually John who is trying to catch her attention. He's walking through town when he spots her walking ahead of him and breaks out into a light jog, determined to catch her before she goes round the block.
"Hey Karen!"
no subject
And on her glow, it's damped down to almost nothing when she hears "Kar—" and is already turning when the second syllable turns it into Karen. "Oh, sorry," she says with a smile, still friendly in spite of her frustration. "I thought you were talking to me."
no subject
"Oh." He exclaims softly in surprise, heat inching slowly up his neck from his mistake. Now he's standing right in front of Kara, the difference between two women is obvious... but there's no denying there's a slight resemblance though and his voice becomes punctuated with confusion.
"No, I was talking to you. I just thought you were someone else for a second. Erm, I'm sorry about that."

...And sometimes, the grapple hook you fire at said roof to catch yourself misses. He could probably use a hand, here.]

I gotcha, you're fine! Um, are you fine? What were you doing?
no subject
Yeah, I'm good, thanks!! But uh, could you put me back up there? I was kinda, in the middle of stopping this crook...

it's apparently a good place to read. He is sitting on the ledge of the roof, reading what looks like an old Japanese book, while the sounds of the city work as background noise. But he doesn't expect Kara to pass by, so when he sees red and blue, quickly he looks up.
That's a familiar face.
"Oh- hello."
no subject
She doesn't expect to be greeted this high up and it takes her a moment to realize it, and then to realize someone else has spotted her out as Supergirl when they'd met her as Kara, but that's just going to keep happening, isn't it? She hasn't exactly been subtle about her powers, and the glow is pretty much a dead giveaway. Good thing she doesn't have that power at home.
But after the startled moment, Kara grins and comes to a halt in midair, drifting a little closer. "Hi! I didn't expect to see you, um, up here."
no subject
In any case, as she approaches, Sasaki closes the book so he can give the woman his attention- "Well, I didn't expect to see you here, either." he is being playful, but he really didn't. "It's a quite place. Good to get away."

Her legs are dangling from the edge of a skyscraper she probably shouldn't have been wandering around in when she sees a red blur in the sky. She doesn't even really care who it is - she grins and waves.
no subject
"Steph! Hi!" She touches down on the skyscraper and joins her with legs dangling over the edge. "What are you doing up here?"
no subject
"Oh, the usual. Living life on the edge." Does that count as a pun? That's definitely how she meant it.
"ImPorts are weird no matter what we do, so why not embrace it?"

It's a pleasant sensation, soaking up the sun's bright and warm light, passing birds and planes with amazed faces squishing their faces against windows as an imPort in costume zips right by them. The kids love it especially, so Peej takes a moment to wave back at them before she trains her gaze ahead. It's rare to run into anyone this high up, but better to stay vigilant in the case of another plane.
From a distance she spots the shock of blue and red, but the figure is much more smaller, much more feminine in comparison to Superman and Peej comes to a full stop midair, her jaw grinding and good mood disappearing instantly.
If she turns around now, maybe Kara won't spot her.
no subject
Using a long flight to clear her mind is something they have in common.
The flicker of movement in the corner of her vision does make Kara glance over, and she recognizes the hero from the Gala immediately. Power Girl, wasn't it? Who had been so weirdly...abrasive, and familiar at the same time? They hadn't talked at all since then, and maybe they shouldn't now—even from this distance, Kara can see the scowl—but Kara sets her own jaw and starts toward her. Whatever's going on, it's better to figure it out, right?
And this time she can approach her on equal footing, in her own costume, which feels better than trying to hold her own in a green evening gown. "Hi."

Now other photos are popping up from around Heropa, as well blurry cellphone videos of a young woman in black fighting off monsters and rushing people to safety from burning buildings and such, along with questions about whether they were all actually the same person and who she might be. Among other, more invasive topics of curiosity obviously.
So thanks for that, Kara. Now she's something of a mysterious sensation!
...not that Lexa cares too much. The attention isn't exactly new for her after all, so it's honestly with some amusement that she's agreed to answer a few of Kara's questions, if for no other reason than to give her a little practice at this with someone she's at least marginally comfortable with already.
"Are you ready?" she asks evenly, though maybe that should really be Kara's line in this situation.
no subject
"Hope so," Kara says, a little breathless with what she hopes is a reassuring smile (it's not). She runs down the list of questions and takes another breath. "So, Lexa. 'What's your favorite way to unwind at the end of a long day?' ...I didn't actually, um. Write these, it's just a list they gave me."
