OTA | just fuck me up
What's weird is an immortal, showing up in your living room, with a large bowl, which is promptly placed on the dinner table, before it's repeated multiple times.
You know, until there's practically a good, old fashioned, Sunday dinner (French dinner) spread out on the table for whoever shows up.
Is Shade presumptuous? Yes. Will anyone even be home? Probably. He watches everyone's schedules like a creep. ]
Anyone home? [ He asks, like he doesn't already know. ]
no subject
He stops, surprised. ] Shade?
[ He raises his eyebrows at the meal. ] Oh! Nobody told me you were coming to dinner.
[ Which means it probably wasn't Piper who invited him. Who knows about the other two? ]
no subject
[ Which means: he didn't tell anyone. He just decided to show up, on some day, without notice, and feed everyone. It's kind of a thing.
He looked Mick over with a grin, and then the dog. ]
Since when are you a dog person?
no subject
Since the swear-in. This is Matches. [ Matches wags her tail and sniffs Shade's pant-leg. ]
So, [ gestures to the food ] what's all this then?
no subject
[ He greets the dog, directly. Shade liked dogs. He remembered that once he'd considered getting one -- but the heartbreak of losing one so quickly in the grand scheme of his life stayed his hand.
Besides, he acted much closer to a cat.
He stood, and gestured at the food. ]
I was inspired this afternoon, when I decided to make dinner.
Unfortunately, that often results in waste.
no subject
He smiles. ] Well, I'm sure we'll be glad to have you.
How you been doing?
no subject
[ He smiled. It wasn't all the Rogues, but instead Shade's new housemate that he had to adjust to.
Living with a serial killer speedster was...different.
But at least he was immortal. ]
All these new arrivals leave an old man like me scrambling to keep up.
no subject
[ Beat. ] Overwhelming from my perspective view, to be honest.
[ Mick wanders into the kitchen area to get dishes and cutlery. ]
no subject
[ Thank something that he was immortal and patient. ]
And for most of that? There were none.
But now? Now we're all over the place. It's like suddenly finding that all your old compatriots have moved into town, and now you can all work together whenever you feel like it.
Mind, you're all from different worlds, but... it's something.
i don't know why my voice dication thought "too" and "view" sounded the same
lmfao omg it's like verbal autocorrect

[Leonard is home and currently leaning against the door frame, inspecting the elaborate dinner being spread out on the table. Home-cooked meal, even bewildering to him when it isn't delivered in this especially strange way.]
What's the catch?
no subject
A moment later, he reappeared with another puff of the shadows, and more food. ]
The catch is, you have to eat it. Sounds simple enough, yes?
no subject
Simple enough. I'm just not used to shadow delivery.
Or any homecooking for that matter. But here I am, Trickster and Shade putting dinner on the table.
no subject
[ Another vanish, and reappearance. This time -- it's wine. Of course it's wine. ]
You are a lucky man, stick around us for long enough, and you'll likely never have to cook again. [ Shade says, as if he is one of the Rogues, when he's more... tangentially related, but with no Jack around, he has to have someone to spend time with. He's bored. ]
no subject
Never really been a cook, so that's good news. I'm not used to home-cooked food.
[Not at home either, not ever as such. But Shade cooks, Trickster cooks and now there's alcohol.]
I ain't complaining.
no subject
[ Like Shade would ever serve dinner without wine. What is he, a plebian?
Next is the Absinthe, though. That's just pretentious. ]
At least all my efforts won't be wasted, yes? [ A pause. ] You are going to sit down, before you eat?
no subject
[He looks at the table, shaking his head a little.]
You like living it up.

He wades through the ballpit and pokes his head out the door. ]
...Is that dinner for us?
no subject
[ He says. Before vanishing. ]
I don't have a fridge, you know. That modern technology makes me jumpy.
[ He said, reappearing in the room, and only then realizing that here were...balls everywhere. Bright, multicolored, plastic balls. ] What on Earth?
no subject
Shade! What's this all about, buddy? Looks fancy.
no subject
[ Shade turns, or really -- one moment he's one way, the next he's another. No matter where he is, he's still eerie. ]
I thought I would treat us all to a nice meal! I wanted to cook more than I could eat today.
[ And well, he wanted to come by and say hi to all his rogue pals. ]
no subject
[ That's spooky as hell, Shade, but whatever. James takes a seat in a chair, sideways, elbow on the table like some kind of heathen. ]
I guess you haven't been by yet, huh? Didja see the ball pit in the study? My idea.
no subject
[ He couldn't help it. He held a hand to his chest. ]
Why on earth did you fill a room with balls?
no subject
[ He says, with perfect sincerity, as though Shade could be caught anywhere near one of those things. ]
no subject
A Charles E. Cheesé?
What is that?
no subject
... I know you're like a million years old, but on the other hand, you're like a million years old.
I can't tell if you're joking.
