Dendarii ranch, last days of June

[ Anytime you care to catch her, Winry is in her underground workshop, forming and carefully shaping approximately a friggin fifty bajillion automail parts. Being a workshop, it's fairly sparse, but she's found time to move in a few personal items, among them being an electric kettle and tea bar, and a cat bed for that grey fellow she's seen around the house. ]

July 2nd, ish..... probably?

[ You might come across her slumped at the kitchen table, or maybe leaning against the banister at the bottom of the stairs, or... alarmingly.... in you bathroom.... seemingly sure that your bathroom counter is a workbench.

Well, wherever the setting may be, the event is the same. The usually cheery girl is hunched over something in her hands, industriously pulling it apart and dropping screws and nuts and plates and wires to the floor with single-minded yet totally unconscious purpose. ]

[Well, now Ed knows what the inside of a speaker looks like. Fascinating.

That aside, this actually is pretty concerning. He's heard that you're not supposed to wake up sleepwalkers—did that count for sleep dismantlers too? Maybe he can just...gently pull the remains of the speaker away from her.]

[ She blinks ssssllllowly at him. ]

[NOPE. The speaker is going away now. No more speaker for Winry.]

Do you even know what you're doing right now?

[ WOW THE AUDACITY. she blinks again, trying to even understand why ed would ask such a stupid question like for real. ]

[He's just gonna try to steer her towards a couch.]

[ For as exhausted and impaired as she is, working in tandem with Ed is as ingrained in her as anything else. So she goes with hist steering, for all that she maintains absolute certainty that he has come and interrupted her work for no good reason. Well, a few cobwebs clear at least. ]

Don't "hey" me! When's the last time you got any sleep?

[Onto the couch they go, Ed pulling her down beside him so he can hold onto her to keep her from getting back up. Definitely all very sensible, logical choices here. Any resemblance to cuddling is purely coincidental.]

[ WELL. if "resemblance to cuddling" is "soft backflops" she does indeed fall back on top of him which is. wow which is warm. what a warm ed. ]

[That is exactly what it is, and now this plan seems like much less of a good idea than it did a moment ago. (Or??? Better??????)]

AM. [Because honestly it isn't really like his sleeping patterns are that much better.] On the 2nd.

[ Miles usually (always) sleeps in Gregor's bed, to the point where his own room is basically a guest room. But sometimes he wakes up first and doesn't want to bother Gregor, so he'll wander down to his bathroom to shave and freshen up for the day. He did not expect to see Winry in here. (Nor his electric razor to have gone mysteriously missing.) ]

Er ... Winry?

[ She hands him the power cord and the blades as she stumbles past, the rest of his razor now in a dozen or so parts, nearly laid out on a hand towel. ]


Careful, 's sharp . . .

[ Miles' hand drifts towards the remains of his razor, then draws back. ]

What the hell are you doing?

Hmmn? Oh, probably just a couple more days, maybe three . . .

[dendarii]

... I asked what, not how long. And why do you need my razor?

[ He runs a hand over his stubble thoughtfully. ]

[ She just keeps shuffling away down the hall, seemingly sure that the conversation is over... ]

Winry!

[ He drifts after her, starting to get exasperated. ]

Hmm?

What the hell are you doing?

[heart_wrenching]

[ She finally turns back to him, and she looks- uh. Basically terrible. Eyes are red, baggy, and not-quite-focused. She blinks them hard, struggling towards full consciousness. ]


Mark...?

[dendarii]

[ That makes him pause, at least, and react a bit more patiently than he might have otherwise. ]

No, it's Miles. See?

[ He taps the pink scar bisecting his face. ]
