Ghost Staff
WHO: Komasan and Jibanyan
WHERE: Lucky Cat Café
WHEN: Forward dated to the weekend
WHAT: The wonderful world of working
WARNINGS: None that I can think of!
[Well, Komasan didn't become an ambassador, but that didn't mean his commitments were suddenly thrown out the window. Saying you care about a city and then up and abandoning it just because you didn't win didn't seem...fair, so the occasional donation still had to take place. They needed it, Komasan knew that, he just needed the money to keep doing it.
So thankfully one of the other commitments he made was working at a café during the weekend.
...A café all the way in another city, one Komasan barely knew, so getting lost happened more often than it didn't. Being a little late even more so.
Running out of breath, Komasan bursts through the door and darts to the back, fully human and ready to grab an apron. There's hardly any time to stop and say hello, money doesn't make itself.
Well...I mean, it kind of does when you're an imPort, but more money doesn't...you get my point.]
S-S-Sorry I'm late, z-zura... [He almost looks like he's about the flop over as he just barely manages to throw his apron on. Although who he's talking to is anyone's guess, he doesn't bother to see who's working today.] Cities just make me...so dizzy...z-zura...

[Though Jibanyan's comment is kind of flippant, he's holding out his arm to Komasan's side, just in case his Youkai friend tips over. He himself has his tails and ears out, but not for some cute reason like matching the café-- it's to keep from tipping over. Without it, he's always tempted to walk crouched over.]
Dog tails aren't long enough to keep you balanced.

M-My tail is there to let people know when I'm happy, z-zura!!
[It's a completely different function on a completely different animal— Speaking of, Komasan drops the tears for a second as he positions himself behind Jibanyan, poking a little at one of his own twin tails.]
Eh...humans don't need tails anyway, zura...

[Jibanyan watches as Komasan pokes at his tails, making them flinch away each time. Finally, he turns around and swats at Komasan uselessly.]
Cut that out! I'm nyo human, anyway, ja-nyan!

R-Right, me neither, z-zura!
[This moment doesn't count.]
I just...didn't know we could have our tails out i-is all, zura...
[He could be a furry abomination if he felt like it.]

[Jibanyan's tail flickers.]
It's yours, ja-nyan.
[dogs are weird]

On second thought, absolutes are fine, he'd rather not have his ears or tail if it means being flooded with those memories again.]
Eh... Because...it's a cat café, zura?
[Pleasebuythat]
My tail's small anyway, so there's no point if no one's gonna see it, zura.
[Komasan does not like lying, so it takes everything in him to keep coming up with excuses that are at least true.]

[...... did he seriously buy that--]
no subject
It sure would be, z-zura...
[Being a dog is rude now...?]
...But, ah...if you needed help learning how to walk, you could've always asked me, zura. We could even do it after work if you aren't busy, zura!

[He seems a little sour about it, but also a little embarrassed, if the way he's rubbing his neck is any indication.]
L-let's get to work, anyway, ja-nyan.

Sorry...I guess I just assumed with the way you brought it up and always got your tails out, zura.
[He's not even trying to be snarky or anything, it just...made sense in his head. But as always, Komasan has no reason to believe others would lie to him, so it must be a weird cat thing.
And you know what? Why wouldn't it be a weird cat thing? Komasan should really be more considerate for his weird cat needs. Now he just feels awful.]
Tell you what, I'll do dishes today to make up for it, hows that sounds, zura?
[You know, so he doesn't get wet. Cats hate water, right? ...Or is that hamsters? It's some kind of animal, that's all he knows.]
