One look in my eyes [Closed]
WHO: Jo Harvelle (
knifecollecting) and Dean Winchester (
kickingand)
WHERE: A random diner in De Chima
WHEN: The evening of June 27th
WHAT: Dean's dropping by to check in on an old friendwho doesn't wish to see him
WARNINGS: None - will update if needed.
Jo couldn't say it had been a horrible month. It actually hadn't been terrible. She knows it could have been far worse, but there's still the doubts and fears running around her mind constantly. Lucifer hadn't made a move for revenge. Dean was still out there and still a demon.
It could be worse and it could also be so much better.
Still, she can't let herself just hide. She refuses, even if it's sorely tempting to retreat to her house after work every night and just ignore everything else. Her house is warded. The dogs are there. It's safe.
Jo had begged off a dinner with coworkers, instead opting to head for a diner closer to house instead of the more pricey places around StarkTech. Diners felt more like home - and the beer was cheaper.

And really, what a better way to spend his time.
It took some poking around once he was in the city, that much was true. Trying to find her at work at failed but he'd played the family card easily enough and been pointed in the direction of a diner, one he slunk into without hesitation. After a moment's worth of glancing around, he spotted her at a booth and strode over, slipping into the seat across from her with practiced ease and grinning broadly.
"Long time no see."

She's quite aware that she can't do what she wants, which is to bolt immediately. She grabs her bookmark and closes the book gently, slipping it into her purse and clearing her throat.
"Dean."

They are in public after all. He'll be good.
"How's it goin', Jo."

She takes a drink before answering.
"Oh, fine. Why wouldn't it be great?"
no subject
"You tell me. Hell, maybe i'll even pick up your tab."

"You're here, Sam's here. Everything's great."

"And so, here I am, making the most out of my time with you."

"Assuming you still eat, of course."
